Ezekiel 12

Darby Bible

1And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 2SonH1121 of manH120, thou dwellest in the midstH8432 of a rebelliousH4805 houseH1004, which have eyesH5869 to seeH7200, and seeH7200 not, which have earsH241 to hearH8085, and hearH8085 not; for they are a rebelliousH4805 houseH1004. 3And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, prepare thee a captive's baggage, and goH1540 captive by dayH3119 in their sight; and thou shalt goH1540 captive from thy placeH4725 to another placeH4725 in their sight. It may be they will considerH7200, though they are a rebelliousH4805 houseH1004. 4And bringH3318 forthH3318 thy baggage by dayH3119 in their sight, as a captive's baggage, and thou thyself, goH3318 forthH3318 at even in their sight as they that goH3318 forthH3318 into captivity. 5DigH2864 thou through the wallH7023 in their sight, and carry out thereby. 6In their sight shalt thou bearH5375 [it] upon [thy] shoulderH3802, and carryH5375 it forthH3318 in the dark; thou shalt coverH3680 thy faceH6440, and thou shalt not seeH7200 the groundH776: for I have appointed thee for a signH4159 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 7And I did soH3651 as I was commandedH6680: I broughtH3318 forthH3318 my baggage by dayH3119, as a captive's baggage, and in the even I digged through the wallH7023 with my handH3027; I broughtH3318 it forthH3318 in the dark, [and] boreH5375 it upon [my] shoulderH3802, in their sight. 8And in the morningH1242 the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 9SonH1121 of manH120, hath not the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, the rebelliousH4805 houseH1004, saidH559 unto thee, What doest thou? 10SayH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: This burdenH4853 [concerneth] the princeH5387 in JerusalemH3389, and all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 that are among them. 11SayH559, I am your signH4159: as I have done, soH3651 shall it be done unto them: they shall go into exileH1473, into captivityH7628. 12And the princeH5387 that is among them shall bearH5375 upon [his] shoulderH3802 in the dark, and shall goH3318 forthH3318; they shall digH2864 through the wallH7023 to carryH5375 out thereby; he shall coverH3680 his faceH6440, that he seeH7200 not the landH776 with [his] eyesH5869. 13And I will spreadH6566 my netH7568 upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare; and I will bringH935 him to BabylonH894 to the landH776 of the ChaldeansH3778; but he shall not seeH7200 it, and there shall he dieH4191. 14And I will scatterH2219 toward every windH7307 all that are about him to helpH5828 him, and all his troopsH102; and I will draw out the swordH2719 after them. 15And they shall knowH3045 that I [am] Jehovah when I shall scatterH2219 them among the nationsH1471 and disperseH2219 them through the countries. 16But I will leaveH3498 a few menH376 of them from the swordH2719, from the famineH7458, and from the pestilenceH1698; that they may declare all their abominationsH8441 among the nationsH1471 whither they shall comeH935; and they shall knowH3045 that I [am] Jehovah. 17And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came to me, sayingH559, 18SonH1121 of manH120, eatH398 thy breadH3899 with quaking, and drinkH8354 thy waterH4325 with trembling and with anxietyH1674; 19and sayH559 unto the peopleH5971 of the landH776, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah concerningH413 the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389, in the landH776 of IsraelH3478: They shall eatH398 their breadH3899 with anxietyH1674, and drinkH8354 their waterH4325 with astonishment, because her landH776 shall be left desolateH3456 of all that is in it, for the violenceH2555 of all them that dwellH3427 therein. 20And the citiesH5892 that are inhabitedH3427 shall beH1961 laid wasteH8077, and the landH776 shall beH1961 a desolationH8077; and ye shall knowH3045 that I [am] Jehovah. 21And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 22SonH1121 of manH120, what is that proverbH4912 which ye have in the landH127 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, The daysH3117 shall be prolongedH748, and every visionH2377 faileth? 23Tell them thereforeH3651, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: I will make this proverbH4912 to ceaseH7673, and they shall no more use it as a proverbH4912 in IsraelH3478; but sayH559 unto them, The daysH3117 are at hand, and the accomplishment of every visionH2377. 24For there shall beH1961 no more any vain visionH2377 nor flattering divinationH4738 in the midstH8432 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 25For I [am] Jehovah; I will speakH1696, and the wordH1697 that I shall speakH1696 shall be performed, it shall be no more deferred. For in your daysH3117, O rebelliousH4805 houseH1004, will I speakH1696 the wordH1697 and will perform it, saith the Lord Jehovah. 26And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 27SonH1121 of manH120, behold, they of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 sayH559, The visionH2377 that he seeth is for manyH7227 daysH3117, and he prophesieth of timesH6256 that are farH7350 off. 28ThereforeH3651 sayH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: There shall none of my wordsH1697 be deferred any more, but the wordH1697 that I have spokenH1696 shall be done, saith the LordH136 Jehovah.
