Ezekiel 29
Darby Bible
1In the tenthH6224 yearH8141, in the tenthH6224 [monthH2320], on the twelfth of the monthH2320, the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 2SonH1121 of manH120, setH7760 thy faceH6440 against PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, and prophesyH5012 against him, and against the whole of EgyptH4714; 3speakH1696, and sayH559, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, the greatH1419 monsterH8577 that lieth in the midstH8432 of his riversH2975, which saith, My riverH2975 is mine own, and I madeH6213 it for myself. 4And I will putH5414 hooksH2397 in thy jawsH3895, and I will cause the fishH1710 of thy riversH2975 to stick unto thy scalesH7193, and I will bringH5927 thee up out of the midstH8432 of thy riversH2975, and all the fishH1710 of thy riversH2975 shall stick unto thy scalesH7193; 5and I will castH5307 thee into the wildernessH4057, thee and all the fishH1710 of thy riversH2975: thou shalt fallH5307 upon the open fieldH7704; thou shalt not be brought together nor gatheredH622: I will giveH5414 thee for meat to the beasts of the earthH776 and to the fowl of the heavensH8064. 6And all the inhabitantsH3427 of EgyptH4714 shall knowH3045 that I [am] Jehovah, because they have beenH1961 a staffH4938 of reedH7070 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 7When they took hold of thee by thy handH3709, thou didst give way and rend all their shoulderH3802; and when they leanedH8172 upon thee, thou didst breakH7665, and didst make all their loinsH4975 to tremble. 8ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I will bringH935 a swordH2719 upon thee, and cutH3772 off manH120 and beast from thee. 9And the landH776 of EgyptH4714 shall beH1961 a desolationH8077 and a wasteH2723: and they shall knowH3045 that I [am] Jehovah, because he saith, The riverH2975 is mine, and I madeH6213 it. 10ThereforeH3651 behold, I am against thee, and against thy riversH2975, and I will makeH5414 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 deserts of wasteness and desolationH8077, from MigdolH4024 to Syene, even unto the borderH1366 of Ethiopia. 11No footH7272 of manH120 shall passH5674 through it, nor shall footH7272 of beast passH5674 through it, nor shall it be inhabitedH3427, fortyH705 yearsH8141. 12And I will makeH5414 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 a desolationH8077 in the midstH8432 of the countries that are desolatedH8074, and her citiesH5892 shall beH1961, in the midstH8432 of the citiesH5892 that are laid waste, a desolationH8077 fortyH705 yearsH8141; and I will scatterH2219 the Egyptians among the nationsH1471, and will disperseH2219 them through the countries. 13Yet thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: At the endH7093 of fortyH705 yearsH8141 will I gatherH6908 the Egyptians from the peoplesH5971 whither they were scatteredH6327; 14and I will turnH7725 again the captivityH7622 of EgyptH4714, and will cause them to returnH7725 to the landH776 of PathrosH6624, into the landH776 of their birth, and they shall there beH1961 a base kingdomH4467. 15It shall beH1961 the basest of kingdomsH4467; neither shall it exalt itself any moreH4480 above the nationsH1471; and I will diminishH4591 them, so that they shall no moreH4480 ruleH7287 over the nationsH1471. 16And it shall beH1961 no more the confidenceH4009 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, bringingH2142 iniquityH5771 to remembranceH2142, when they turnH6437 after them: and they shall knowH3045 that I [am] the LordH136 Jehovah. 17And it came to pass in the twenty-seventh yearH8141, in the firstH7223 [monthH2320], on the firstH7223 of the monthH2320, [that] the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 18SonH1121 of manH120, Nebuchadrezzar kingH4428 of BabylonH894 caused his armyH2428 to do hard serviceH5656 against TyreH6865; every headH7218 wasH1961 made baldH7139, and every shoulderH3802 wasH1961 peeled: yet had he from TyreH6865 no wagesH7939, nor his armyH2428, for the serviceH5656 that he had servedH5647 against it. 19ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I will giveH5414 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 unto Nebuchadrezzar kingH4428 of BabylonH894; and he shall carryH5375 awayH5375 her multitudeH1995, and seize her spoilH7998, and takeH5375 her preyH957; and it shall beH1961 the wagesH7939 for his army. 20I have givenH5414 him the landH776 of EgyptH4714 for his labour wherewith he servedH5647 against it, because they wrought for me, saith the LordH136 Jehovah. 21In that dayH3117 will I cause the hornH7161 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 to bud forth, and I will giveH5414 thee the openingH6310 of the mouthH6310 in the midstH8432 of them: and they shall knowH3045 that I [am] Jehovah.
