Ezekiel 22
Darby Bible
1And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 2And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, wilt thou judgeH8199, wilt thou judgeH8199 the bloody cityH5892? Yea, cause her to knowH3045 all her abominationsH8441, 3and sayH559, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: A cityH5892 that sheddeth bloodH1818 in her midstH8432, that her timeH6256 may comeH935, and maketh idolsH1544 against herself to defileH2930 herself. 4Thou art becomeH2930 guiltyH816 by thy bloodH1818 which thou hast shedH8210, and hast defiledH2930 thyself with thine idolsH1544 which thou hast madeH6213; and thou hast caused thy daysH3117 to drawH7126 near, and art comeH935 unto thy yearsH8141: thereforeH3651 have I madeH6213 thee a reproachH2781 unto the nationsH1471, and a mocking unto all countries. 5Those that are near, and those that are farH7350 from thee, shall mock thee, who art infamous [and] full of tumult. 6Behold, the princesH5387 of IsraelH3478 have beenH1961 in thee to shedH8210 bloodH1818, each according to his power. 7In thee have they madeH6213 light of fatherH1 and motherH517; in the midstH8432 of thee have they dealt by oppressionH6233 with the stranger; in thee have they vexed the fatherlessH3490 and the widowH490. 8Thou hast despisedH959 my holyH6944 thingsH6944, and hast profanedH2490 my sabbathsH7676. 9In thee there have beenH1961 slanderous menH376 to shedH8210 bloodH1818; and in thee have they eatenH398 upon the mountainsH2022; in the midstH8432 of thee they have committed lewdness; 10in thee have they discovered their fathers' nakednessH6172; in thee have they humbled her that was uncleanH2931 in her separation. 11And oneH376 hath committed abominationH8441 with his neighbour's wifeH802; and another hath lewdly defiledH2930 his daughter-in-law; and another in thee hath humbled his sisterH269, his father's daughterH1323. 12In thee have they takenH3947 giftsH7810 to shedH8210 bloodH1818; thou hast takenH3947 usury and increase, and thou hast overreached thy neighbours by oppressionH6233, and hast forgottenH7911 me, saith the LordH136 Jehovah. 13And behold, I have smitten mine handH3709 at thine overreaching which thou hast done, and at thy bloodshed which hath beenH1961 in the midstH8432 of thee. 14Shall thy heartH3820 endure, shall thy handsH3027 be strongH2388, in the daysH3117 that I shall deal with thee? I Jehovah have spokenH1696, and will do [it]. 15And I will scatterH2219 thee among the nationsH1471, and disperseH2219 thee through the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee. 16And thou shalt be polluted through thyself in the sight of the nationsH1471, and thou shalt knowH3045 that I [am] Jehovah. 17And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 18SonH1121 of manH120, the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 is becomeH1961 dross to me: they are all copperH5178, and tinH913, and ironH1270, and leadH5777, in the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564: they are becomeH1961 the dross of silverH3701. 19ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Because ye areH1961 all becomeH1961 dross, thereforeH3651 behold, I will gatherH6908 you into the midstH8432 of JerusalemH3389. 20[As] they gatherH6908 silverH3701, and copperH5178, and ironH1270, and leadH5777, and tinH913, into the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564, to blowH5301 the fireH784 upon it, to meltH5413 it, soH3651 will I gatherH6908 you in mine angerH639 and in my fury, and I will lay you on and meltH5413 you. 21Yea, I will collect you, and blowH5301 upon you the fireH784 of my wrathH5678, and ye shall be meltedH5413 in the midstH8432 thereof. 22As silverH3701 is meltedH5413 in the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564, soH3651 shall ye be meltedH5413 in the midstH8432 thereof: and ye shall knowH3045 that I Jehovah have pouredH8210 out my fury upon you. 23And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 24SonH1121 of manH120, sayH559 unto her, Thou art a landH776 that is not cleansedH2891, nor rained upon in the dayH3117 of indignationH2195. 25There is a conspiracyH7195 of her prophetsH5030 in the midstH8432 of her like a roaringH7580 lionH738 ravening the preyH2964; they devourH398 soulsH5315; they takeH3947 awayH3947 treasure and preciousH3366 thingsH3366; they increaseH7235 her widowsH490 in the midstH8432 of her; 26her priestsH3548 do violenceH2554 to my lawH8451, and profaneH2490 my holyH6944 thingsH6944: they put no difference between the holyH6944 and profaneH2490, neither do they makeH3045 knownH3045 [the difference] between the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889, and they hideH5956 their eyesH5869 from my sabbathsH7676, and I am profanedH2490 among them. 27Her princesH8269 in the midstH7130 of her are like wolvesH2061 ravening the preyH2964, to shedH8210 bloodH1818, to destroyH6 soulsH5315, to get dishonest gainH1215. 28And her prophetsH5030 have daubed for them with untempered [mortar], seeing vanityH7723 and diviningH7080 liesH3577 unto them, sayingH559, ThusH3541 saith the Lord Jehovah! and Jehovah hath not spokenH1696. 29The peopleH5971 of the landH776 use oppressionH6233 and practise robberyH1498; and they vex the poorH6041 and needyH34, and oppressH6231 the stranger wrongfully. 30And I soughtH1245 for a manH376 among them, that should makeH5975 up the fence, and standH5975 in the breachH6556 before me for the landH776, that I should not destroyH7843 it; but I foundH4672 none. 31And I will pourH8210 out mine indignationH2195 upon them; I will consume them in the fireH784 of my wrathH5678: their own wayH1870 will I recompense upon their headH7218, saith the LordH136 Jehovah.
