Ezekiel 19
Darby Bible
1And thou, takeH5375 thou up a lamentationH7015 for the princesH5387 of IsraelH3478, 2and sayH559, What was thy motherH517? A lionessH3833: she layH7257 downH7257 among lionsH738, she nourished her whelps in the midstH8432 of the youngH3715 lionsH738. 3And she broughtH5927 up oneH259 of her whelps; it becameH1961 a youngH3715 lionH3715, and he learnedH3925 to catch the preyH2964; he devouredH398 menH120. 4And the nationsH1471 heardH8085 of him; he was taken in their pitH7845, and they broughtH935 him with nose-rings into the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 5And when she sawH7200 that she had waitedH3176 [and] her hopeH3176 was lost, she tookH3947 another of her whelps, [and] madeH7760 him a youngH3715 lionH3715. 6And he wentH1980 up and down among the lionsH738; he becameH1961 a youngH3715 lionH738, and learnedH3925 to catch the preyH2964; he devouredH398 menH120. 7And he knewH3045 their [desolateH3456] palaces, and he laid waste their citiesH5892, so that the landH776 was desolateH3456, and all it contained, by the noise of his roaringH7581. 8Then the nationsH1471 setH5414 against him on every side from the provincesH4082, and spreadH6566 their netH7568 over him; he was taken in their pitH7845. 9And they putH5414 him in a cage with nose-rings, and broughtH935 him to the kingH4428 of BabylonH894; they broughtH935 him into strongholds, that his voiceH6963 should no more be heardH8085 upon the mountainsH2022 of IsraelH3478. 10Thy motherH517 wasH1961 as a vineH1612, in thy rest, plantedH8362 by the watersH4325: it wasH1961 fruitfulH6509 and full of branches by reason of manyH7227 watersH4325. 11And it had strong rodsH4294 for sceptres of them that bear ruleH4910, and its statureH6967 wasH1961 exaltedH1361 between the thick boughs; and it wasH1961 conspicuous by its heightH6967 with the multitudeH7230 of its branchesH1808. 12But it was pluckedH5428 up in fury, it was castH7993 downH7993 to the groundH776, and the eastH6921 windH7307 driedH3001 up its fruitH6529; its strong rodsH4294 were broken and witheredH3001; the fireH784 consumedH398 them. 13And nowH6258 it is plantedH8362 in the wildernessH4057, in a dryH6723 and thirsty groundH776: 14and a fireH784 is goneH3318 out of a rodH7626 of its branchesH4294, [which] hath devouredH398 its fruitH6529; so that it hath no strong rodH7626 to beH1961 a sceptre for rulingH4910. This is a lamentationH7015, and shall beH1961 for a lamentationH7015.
