Judgment on Tyre

1Now in the eleventhH6249H6240 yearH8141, on the firstH259 of the monthH2320, the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to me, sayingH559, 2“SonH1121 of manH120, becauseH3282H834 1TyreH6865 has saidH559 in regardH5921 to JerusalemH3389, ‘AhaH1889! The 2gatewayH1817 of the peoplesH5971 is brokenH7665; it has 34openedH5437 to me. I shall be filledH4390, now that she is laidH2717 wasteH2717,’ 3thereforeH3651 thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH136 5GodH3068 saysH559: ‘BeholdH2009, I am againstH5921 you, TyreH6865, and I will bringH5927 upH5927 6manyH7227 nationsH1471 againstH5921 you, as the 7seaH3220 bringsH5927 upH5927 its wavesH1530. 4They will 8destroyH7843 the wallsH2346 of TyreH6865 and tearH2040 downH2040 her towersH4026; and I will sweepH5500 her debrisH6083 awayH5500 from her and makeH5414 her a bareH6706 rockH5553. 5She will becomeH1961 a dryH4894 placeH4894 for the spreading of netsH2764 in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220, for I have spokenH1696,’ declaresH5002 the LordH136 GodH3068; ‘and she will becomeH1961 9plunderH957 for the nationsH1471. 6Also her 10daughtersH1323 whoH834 are 11on the mainlandH7704 will be killedH2026 by the swordH2719, and they will knowH3045 that I am the LordH3068.’”

7For the LordH136 GodH3068 saysH559 thisH3541: “BeholdH2009, I am going to bringH935 upon TyreH6865 from the northH6828 NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, 12kingH4428 of kingsH4428, with horsesH5483, 13chariotsH7393, cavalryH6571, and 14a greatH7227 armyH5971H6951. 8He will killH2026 your daughtersH1323 15on the mainlandH7704 with the swordH2719; and he will makeH5414 16siegeH1785 wallsH1785 againstH5921 you, pileH8210 upH8210 an 17assaultH5550 rampH5550 againstH5921 you, and raiseH6965 upH6965 a largeH6793 shieldH6793 againstH5921 you. 9And he will directH5414 the blowH4239 of his batteringH6904 ramsH6904 against your wallsH2346, and he will tearH5422 downH5422 your towersH4026 with his 18axesH2719. 10BecauseH4480 of the multitudeH8229 of his 19horsesH5483, the dustH80 raised by them will coverH3680 you; your wallsH2346 will 20shakeH7493 from the noiseH6963 of cavalryH6571, 21wagonsH1534, and chariotsH7393 when he 22entersH935 your gatesH8179 as warriors enterH3996 a cityH5892 that is breachedH1234. 11With the hoofsH6541 of his 23horsesH5483 he will trampleH7429 allH3605 your streetsH2351. He will killH2026 your peopleH5971 with the swordH2719, and your strongH5797 24pillarsH4676 will 25goH3381 downH3381 to the groundH776. 12Also they will takeH7997 your richesH2428 asH7997 spoilsH7997 and plunderH962 your 26merchandiseH7404, 27tearH2040 downH2040 your wallsH2346 and destroyH5422 your 28delightfulH2532 housesH1004, and 29throwH7760 your stonesH68, your timbersH6086, and your debrisH6083 30into the waterH4325. 13So I will putH7673 anH7673 endH7673 toH7673 the soundH1995 of your 31songsH7892, and the soundH6963 of your 32harpsH3658 will noH3808 longerH5750 be heardH8085. 14I will turnH5414 you into a bareH6706 rockH5553; you will becomeH1961 a dryH4894 placeH4894 for the spreading of netsH2764. You will not be 33rebuiltH1129H5750, for I the 34LordH3068 have spokenH1696,” declaresH5002 the LordH136 GodH3068.

15The LordH136 GodH3068 saysH559 thisH3541 to TyreH6865: “Will the 35coastlandsH339 not 36shakeH7493 from the soundH6963 of your downfallH4658 when the woundedH2491 groanH602, when the slaughterH2027 takesH2026 placeH2026 in your midstH8432? 16Then allH3605 the princesH5387 of the seaH3220 will 37descendH3381 from their thronesH3678, removeH5493 their robesH4598, and stripH6584 offH6584 their colorfullyH7553 wovenH7553 garmentsH899. They will 38clotheH3847 themselves with 39tremblingH2731; they will sitH3427 on the groundH776, 40trembleH2729 againH7281 and againH7281, and beH8074 appalledH8074 at you. 17And they will takeH5375 upH5375 a 41songH7015 ofH7015 mourningH7015 overH5921 you and sayH559 to you, ‘42HowH349 you have perishedH6, you inhabitedH3427 one, From the seasH3220, you famousH1984 cityH5892, WhichH834 was 43mightyH2389 on the seaH3220, She and her inhabitantsH3427, WhoH834 imposedH5414 44her terrorH2851 On allH3605 her inhabitantsH3427!18NowH6258 the 45coastlandsH339 will trembleH2729 On the dayH3117 of your downfallH4658; Yes, the coastlandsH339 whichH834 are by the seaH3220 Will be horrifiedH926 at your 46passingH3318.’”

19For thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH136 GodH3068 saysH559: “When I makeH5414 you a desolateH2717 cityH5892, like the citiesH5892 whichH834 are not inhabitedH3427, when I 47bringH5927 upH5927 the deepH8415 overH5921 you and the greatH7227 watersH4325 coverH3680 you, 20then I will bringH3381 you downH3381 with those who 48goH3381 downH3381 to the pitH953, to the peopleH5971 of oldH5769, and I will make you remainH3427 in the 49lowerH8482 partsH8482 of the earthH776, like the ancientH5769 ruinsH2723, with those who goH3381 downH3381 to the pitH953, soH4616 thatH4616 you will not 50be inhabitedH3427; but I will putH5414 51gloryH6643 in the landH776 of the livingH2416. 21I will 52causeH5414 you 53suddenH1091 terrorsH1091 and you will noH369 longerH369 existH369; though you will be soughtH1245, 54you will neverH3808H5769 be foundH4672 againH5750,” declaresH5002 the LordH136 GodH3068.
