Ezekiel 3
Darby Bible
1And he saidH559 unto me, SonH1121 of manH120, eatH398 what thou findest; eatH398 this roll, and go, speakH1696 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 2So I openedH6605 my mouthH6310, and he caused me to eatH398 that roll. 3And he saidH559 unto me, SonH1121 of manH120, cause thy bellyH990 to eatH398, and fillH4390 thy bowelsH4578 with this roll which I giveH5414 thee. And I ateH398, and it wasH1961 in my mouthH6310 as honeyH1706 for sweetness. 4And he saidH559 unto me, SonH1121 of manH120, goH935, get thee unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, and speakH1696 with my wordsH1697 unto them. 5For thou art not sentH7971 to a peopleH5971 of strange languageH3956, and of difficult speech, [but] to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478; 6not to manyH7227 peoplesH5971 of strange languageH3956 and of difficult speech, whose wordsH1697 thou canst not understand: had I sentH7971 thee to them, would they not hearken unto thee? 7But the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 will not hearken unto thee, for none of them will hearken unto me. For all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 are hardH7186 of foreheadH4696 and stiff of heartH3820. 8Behold, I have madeH5414 thy faceH6440 hardH2389 against their facesH6440, and thy foreheadH4696 hardH2389 against their foreheadsH4696. 9As an adamant harderH2389 than flintH6864 have I madeH5414 thy foreheadH4696. FearH3372 them not, neither be dismayedH2865 at them, for they are a rebelliousH4805 houseH1004. 10And he saidH559 unto me, SonH1121 of manH120, all my wordsH1697 which I shall speakH1696 unto thee, receiveH3947 in thy heartH3824, and hearH8085 with thine earsH241; 11and goH935, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy peopleH5971, and speakH1696 unto them, and tell them, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah, — whether they will hearH8085 or whether they will forbear. 12And the SpiritH7307 liftedH5375 me up, and I heardH8085 behind me the soundH6963 of a greatH1419 rushing, [saying,] BlessedH1288 be the gloryH3519 of Jehovah from his placeH4725! 13— and the soundH6963 of the wingsH3671 of the living creatures that touched one another, and the soundH6963 of the wheelsH212 beside them, and the soundH6963 of a greatH1419 rushing. 14And the SpiritH7307 liftedH5375 me up, and tookH3947 me awayH5375; and I went in bitternessH4751, in the heat of my spiritH7307, and the handH3027 of Jehovah was strongH2388 upon me. 15And I cameH935 to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dweltH3427 by the riverH5104 Chebar, and I satH3427 whereH834 they satH3427; and I satH3427 there astonied among them sevenH7651 daysH3117. 16And it came to pass at the endH7097 of sevenH7651 daysH3117, that the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 17SonH1121 of manH120, I have appointed thee a watchmanH6822 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, and thou shalt hearH8085 the wordH1697 from my mouthH6310, and giveH5414 them warning from me. 18When I sayH559 unto the wickedH7563, Thou shalt certainlyH4191 dieH4191; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warnH2094 the wickedH7563 from his wickedH7563 wayH1870, that he may liveH2421: the same wickedH7563 [man] shall dieH4191 in his iniquityH5771; but his bloodH1818 will I requireH1245 at thy handH3027. 19But if thou warnH2094 the wickedH7563, and he turnH7725 not from his wickednessH7562, nor from his wickedH7563 wayH1870, he shall dieH4191 in his iniquityH5771; but thou hast deliveredH5337 thy soulH5315. 20And when a righteousH6662 [man] doth turnH7725 from his righteousnessH6666, and do what is wrong, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall dieH4191; because thou hast not givenH5414 him warning, he shall dieH4191 in his sinH2403, and his righteousH6662 actsH6213 which he hath done shall not be rememberedH2142; but his bloodH1818 will I requireH1245 at thy handH3027. 21And if thou warnH2094 the righteousH6662 [man], that the righteousH6662 sinH2398 not, and he doth not sinH2398, he shall certainly liveH2421, for he hath taken warning; and thou hast deliveredH5337 thy soulH5315. 22And the handH3027 of Jehovah wasH1961 there upon me; and he saidH559 unto me, AriseH6965, goH3318 forthH3318 into the valleyH1237, and there I will talk with thee. 23And I aroseH6965, and wentH3318 forthH3318 into the valleyH1237, and behold, the gloryH3519 of Jehovah stoodH5975 there, like the gloryH3519 which I sawH7200 by the riverH5104 Chebar; and I fellH5307 on my faceH6440. 24And the SpiritH7307 entered into me, and setH5975 me upon my feetH7272; and he spokeH1696 with me, and saidH559 unto me, GoH935, shutH5462 thyself within thy houseH1004. 25And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, behold, they shall putH5414 bands upon thee, and shall bindH631 thee therewith, and thou shalt not goH3318 out among them. 26And I will make thy tongueH3956 cleave to the roof of thy mouthH2441, that thou shalt beH1961 dumb, and shalt not beH1961 to them a reprover; for they are a rebelliousH4805 houseH1004. 27And when I speakH1696 with thee, I will openH6605 thy mouthH6310, and thou shalt sayH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: He that heareth, let him hearH8085; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebelliousH4805 houseH1004.
