Ezekiel 26

American Standard Version

1And it came to pass in the eleventh yearH8141, in the firstdayof the monthH2320, that the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 2SonH1121 of manH120, because that TyreH6865 hath saidH559 against JerusalemH3389, AhaH1889, she is brokenH7665 that was the gate of the peoplesH5971; she is turnedH5437 unto me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste: 3thereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah, Behold, I am against thee, O TyreH6865, and will cause manyH7227 nationsH1471 to comeH5927 up against thee, as the seaH3220 causeth its waves to comeH5927 up. 4And they shall destroyH7843 the wallsH2346 of TyreH6865, and breakH2040 down her towersH4026: I will also scrape her dustH6083 from her, and makeH5414 her a bare rockH5553. 5She shall beH1961 a place for the spreading of netsH2764 in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220; for I have spokenH1696 it, saith the LordH136 Jehovah; and she shall becomeH1961 a spoilH957 to the nationsH1471. 6And her daughtersH1323 that are in the fieldH7704 shall be slainH2026 with the swordH2719: and they shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah.

7For thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I will bringH935 upon TyreH6865 Nebuchadrezzar kingH4428 of BabylonH894, kingH4428 of kingsH4428, from the northH6828, with horsesH5483, and with chariotsH7393, and with horsemenH6571, and a companyH6951, and muchH7227 peopleH5971. 8He shall slayH2026 with the swordH2719 thy daughtersH1323 in the fieldH7704; and he shall makeH5414 forts against thee, and cast up a mound against thee, and raiseH6965 up the buckler against thee. 9And he shall setH5414 his battering engines against thy wallsH2346, and with his axes he shall breakH5422 down thy towersH4026. 10By reason of the abundanceH8229 of his horsesH5483 their dustH80 shall coverH3680 thee: thy wallsH2346 shall shakeH7493 at the noise of the horsemenH6571, and of the wagons, and of the chariotsH7393, when he shall enter into thy gatesH8179, as men enter into a cityH5892 wherein is made a breach. 11With the hoofsH6541 of his horsesH5483 shall he tread down all thy streetsH2351; he shall slayH2026 thy peopleH5971 with the swordH2719; and the pillarsH4676 of thy strengthH5797 shall goH3381 down to the groundH776. 12And they shall makeH7760 a spoilH962 of thy riches, and makeH7760 a prey of thy merchandise; and they shall breakH2040 down thy wallsH2346, and destroy thy pleasant housesH1004; and they shall lay thy stonesH68 and thy timber and thy dustH6083 in the midstH8432 of the watersH4325. 13And I will cause the noise of thy songsH7892 to ceaseH7673; and the soundH6963 of thy harpsH3658 shall be no more heardH8085. 14And I will makeH5414 thee a bare rockH5553; thou shalt beH1961 a place for the spreading of netsH2764; thou shalt beH1961 builtH1129 no more: for I Jehovah have spokenH1696 it, saith the Lord Jehovah.

15ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah to TyreH6865: shall not the isles shakeH7493 at the soundH6963 of thy fall, when the woundedH2491 groanH602, when the slaughter is made in the midstH8432 of thee? 16Then all the princesH5387 of the seaH3220 shall comeH3381 down from their thronesH3678, and lay asideH5493 their robesH4598, and stripH6584 off their broidered garmentsH899: they shall clotheH3847 themselves with tremblingH2729; they shall sitH3427 upon the groundH776, and shall trembleH2729 every momentH7281, and be astonished at thee. 17And they shall takeH5375 up a lamentationH7015 over thee, and sayH559 to thee, HowH349 art thou destroyedH6, that wast inhabitedH3427 by seafaring men, the renowned cityH5892, that wasH1961 strongH2389 in the seaH3220, she and her inhabitantsH3427, that caused their terrorH2851 to beH1961 on all that dweltH3427 there! 18NowH6258 shall the isles trembleH2729 in the dayH3117 of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the seaH3220 shall be dismayedH926 at thy departure.

19For thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: When I shall makeH5414 thee a desolate cityH5892, like the citiesH5892 that are not inhabitedH3427; when I shall bringH5927 up the deepH8415 upon thee, and the greatH7227 watersH4325 shall coverH3680 thee; 20then will I bringH3381 thee downH3381 with them that descend into the pitH953, to the peopleH5971 of old time, and will makeH5414 thee to dwellH3427 in the nether partsH8482 of the earthH776, in the placesH2723 that are desolate of old, with them that goH3381 down to the pitH953, that thou be not inhabitedH3427; and I will setH5414 glory in the landH776 of the living. 21I will makeH5414 thee a terrorH1091, and thou shalt no more have any being; though thou be soughtH1245 for, yetH5750 shalt thou never be foundH4672 againH5750, saith the LordH136 Jehovah.
