Ezekiel 5

Darby Bible

1And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, takeH3947 thee a sharpH2299 knife; a barber's razorH8593 shalt thou takeH3947; and cause it to passH5674 upon thy headH7218 and upon thy beardH2206: and thou shalt takeH3947 balances to weigh, and divideH2505 the [hair]. 2A thirdH7992 part shalt thou burnH1197 in the fireH217 in the midstH8432 of the cityH5892, when the daysH3117 of the siegeH4692 are fulfilled; and thou shalt takeH3947 a thirdH7992 part, [and] smite about it with a knife; and a thirdH7992 part thou shalt scatterH2219 to the windH7307, and I will draw out a swordH2719 after them. 3And thou shalt takeH3947 thereof a fewH4592 in numberH4557, and bind them in thy skirtsH3671; 4and thou shalt takeH3947 of these againH5750, and castH7993 them into the midstH8432 of the fireH784, and burnH8313 them in the fireH784: from it shall a fireH784 comeH3318 forthH3318 against all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 5ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: This is JerusalemH3389: I have setH7760 her in the midstH8432 of the nationsH1471, and the countries are roundH5439 about her. 6And she hath rebelledH4784 against my judgmentsH4941 in wickednessH7564 moreH4480 than the nationsH1471, and against my statutesH2708 moreH4480 than the countries that are roundH5439 about her: for mine ordinancesH4941 have they refused; and my statutesH2708, they have not walkedH1980 in them. 7ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Because ye have been turbulent moreH4480 than the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about you, [and] have not walkedH1980 in my statutesH2708, neither have kept mine ordinancesH4941, nor [even] have done according to the ordinancesH4941 of the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about you; 8thereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute judgmentsH4941 in the midstH8432 of thee in the sight of the nationsH1471; 9and I will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the likeH3644, because of all thine abominationsH8441. 10ThereforeH3651 the fathersH1 shall eatH398 the sonsH1121 in the midstH8432 of thee, and the sonsH1121 shall eatH398 their fathersH1; and I will execute judgmentsH8201 in thee, and the whole remnantH7611 of thee will I scatterH2219 to all the windsH7307. 11Wherefore, [as] I live, saith the LordH136 Jehovah, verily because thou hast defiledH2930 my sanctuaryH4720 with all thy detestableH8251 things, and with all thine abominationsH8441, thereforeH3651 will I alsoH1571 withdraw mine eyeH5869, and it shall not spareH2550, nor will I have any pityH2347. 12A thirdH7992 part of thee shall dieH4191 by the pestilenceH1698, and shall be consumed by the famineH7458 in the midstH8432 of thee; and a thirdH7992 part shall fallH5307 by the swordH2719 roundH5439 about thee; and I will scatterH2219 a thirdH7992 part to all the windsH7307, and I will draw out a swordH2719 after them. 13And mine angerH639 shall be accomplished, and I will satisfy my fury upon them, and I will comfortH5162 myself; and they shall knowH3045 that I Jehovah have spokenH1696 in my jealousyH7068, when I have accomplished my fury upon them. 14And I will makeH5414 thee a wasteH2723 and a reproachH2781 among the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about thee, in the sight of all that passH5674 by. 15And it shall beH1961 a reproachH2781, and a taunt, an instruction, and an astonishment unto the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about thee, when I shall execute judgmentsH8201 upon thee in angerH639, and in fury, and in furious rebukesH8433: I, Jehovah, have spokenH1696. 16When I sendH7971 upon them the evilH7451 arrowsH2671 of famineH7458, that are for [their] destruction, which I sendH7971 to destroyH7843 you, then will I increaseH3254 the famineH7458 upon you, and will breakH7665 your staffH4294 of breadH3899. 17And I will sendH7971 upon you famineH7458 and evilH7451 beasts, which shall bereaveH7921 thee of children; and pestilenceH1698 and bloodH1818 shall passH5674 through thee; and I will bringH935 the swordH2719 upon thee: I, Jehovah, have spokenH1696.
