Judgment on Tyre
1Now in the eleventhH6249H6240 yearH8141, on the firstH259 of the monthH2320, the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to me sayingH559, 2“SonH1121 of manH120, becauseH3282H834 1TyreH6865 has saidH559 concerningH5921 JerusalemH3389, ‘AhaH1889, the 2gatewayH1817 of the peoplesH5971 is brokenH7665; it has 34openedH5437 to me. I shall be filledH4390, now that she is laidH2717 wasteH2717,’ 3thereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 5GodH3068, ‘BeholdH2009, I am againstH5921 you, O TyreH6865, and I will bringH5927 up 6manyH7227 nationsH1471 againstH5921 you, as the 7seaH3220 bringsH5927 up its wavesH1530. 4They will 8destroyH7843 the wallsH2346 of TyreH6865 and breakH2040 downH2040 her towersH4026; and I will scrapeH5500 her debrisH6083 from her and makeH5414 her a bareH6706 rockH5553. 5She will be a placeH4894 for the spreadingH4894 of netsH2764 in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220, for I have spokenH1696,’ declaresH5002 the LordH136 GodH3068, ‘and she will becomeH1961 9spoilH957 for the nationsH1471. 6Also her 10daughtersH1323 whoH834 are 11on the mainlandH7704 will be slainH2026 by the swordH2719, and they will knowH3045 that I am the LordH3068.’”
7For thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 GodH3068, “BeholdH2009, I will bringH935 upon TyreH6865 from the northH6828 NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, 12kingH4428 of kingsH4428, with horsesH5483, 13chariotsH7393, cavalryH6571 and 14a greatH7227 armyH5971H6951. 8He will slayH2026 your daughtersH1323 15on the mainlandH7704 with the swordH2719; and he will makeH5414 16siegeH1785 wallsH1785 againstH5921 you, castH8210 up a 17rampH5550 againstH5921 you and raiseH6965 up a largeH6793 shieldH6793 againstH5921 you. 9The blowH4239 of his batteringH6904 ramsH6904 he will directH5414 against your wallsH2346, and with his 18axesH2719 he will breakH5422 downH5422 your towersH4026. 10BecauseH4480 of the multitudeH8229 of his 19horsesH5483, the dustH80 raised by them will coverH3680 you; your wallsH2346 will 20shakeH7493 at the noiseH6963 of cavalryH6571 and 21wagonsH1534 and chariotsH7393 when he 22entersH935 your gatesH8179 as men enterH3996 a cityH5892 that is breachedH1234. 11With the hoofsH6541 of his 23horsesH5483 he will trampleH7429 allH3605 your streetsH2351. He will slayH2026 your peopleH5971 with the swordH2719; and your strongH5797 pillarsH4676 will 24comeH3381 downH3381 to the groundH776. 12Also they will makeH7997 a spoilH7997 of your richesH2428 and a preyH962 of your 25merchandiseH7404, 26breakH2040 downH2040 your wallsH2346 and destroyH5422 your 27pleasantH2532 housesH1004, and 28throwH7760 your stonesH68 and your timbersH6086 and your debrisH6083 29into the waterH4325. 13So I will 30silenceH7673 the soundH1995 of your 31songsH7892, and the soundH6963 of your 32harpsH3658 will be heardH8085 noH3808 moreH5750. 14I will makeH5414 you a bareH6706 rockH5553; you will be a placeH4894 for the spreadingH4894 of netsH2764. You will be 33builtH1129 noH3808 moreH5750, for I the 34LordH3068 have spokenH1696,” declaresH5002 the LordH136 GodH3068.
15ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 GodH3068 to TyreH6865, “Shall not the 35coastlandsH339 36shakeH7493 at the soundH6963 of your fallH4658 when the woundedH2491 groanH602, when the slaughterH2027 occursH2026 in your midstH8432? 16Then allH3605 the princesH5387 of the seaH3220 will 37goH3381 downH3381 from their thronesH3678, removeH5493 their robesH4598 and stripH6584 offH6584 their embroideredH7553 garmentsH899. They will 38clotheH3847 themselves with 39tremblingH2731; they will sitH3427 on the groundH776, 40trembleH2729 every momentH7281 and be appalledH8074 at you. 17They will takeH5375 up a 41lamentationH7015 overH5921 you and sayH559 to you, ‘42HowH349 you have perishedH6, O inhabitedH3427 one, From the seasH3220, O renownedH1984 cityH5892, WhichH834 was 43mightyH2389 on the seaH3220, She and her inhabitantsH3427, WhoH834 44imposedH5414 45her terrorH2851 On allH3605 her inhabitantsH3427!18NowH6258 the 46coastlandsH339 will trembleH2729 On the dayH3117 of your fallH4658; Yes, the coastlandsH339 whichH834 are by the seaH3220 Will be terrifiedH926 at your 47passingH3318.’”
19For thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 GodH3068, “When I makeH5414 you a desolateH2717 cityH5892, like the citiesH5892 whichH834 are not inhabitedH3427, when I 48bringH5927 up the deepH8415 overH5921 you and the greatH7227 watersH4325 coverH3680 you, 20then I will bringH3381 you downH3381 with those who 49goH3381 downH3381 to the pitH953, to the peopleH5971 of oldH5769, and I will make you dwellH3427 in the 50lowerH8482 partsH8482 of the earthH776, like the ancientH5769 wasteH2723 placesH2723, with those who goH3381 downH3381 to the pitH953, soH4616 that you will not 51be inhabitedH3427; but I will setH5414 52gloryH6643 in the landH776 of the livingH2416. 21I will 53bringH5414 54terrorsH1091 on you and you will be noH369 moreH369; though you will be soughtH1245, 55you will neverH3808H5769 be foundH4672 againH5750,” declaresH5002 the LordH136 GodH3068.
