Luke 24:13-34

13And beholdG2400, on that veryG846 dayG2250 1twoG1417 of them were goingG4198 to a villageG2968 namedG3686 EmmausG1695, which was 2sixtyG1835 stadiaG4712 from JerusalemG2419. 14And they were talkingG3656 with eachG240 otherG240 aboutG4012 allG3956 theseG3778 thingsG3778 which had takenG4819 placeG4819. 15WhileG1722 they were talkingG3656 and discussingG4802, JesusG2424 HimselfG846 approachedG1448 and began travelingG4848 with them. 16But 3their eyesG3788 were keptG2902 from recognizingG1921 Him. 17And He saidG3004 to them, “WhatG5101 are theseG3778 wordsG3056 that you are exchangingG474 with oneG240 anotherG240 as you are walkingG4043?” And they cameG2476 toG2476 aG2476 stopG2476, lookingG4659 sadG4659. 18OneG1520 of them, namedG3686 CleopasG2810, answeredG611 and saidG3004 to Him, “Are You possibly the onlyG3441 oneG3441 livingG3939 nearG3939 JerusalemG2419 4who does not knowG1097 about the things that happenedG1096 hereG1722G846 in theseG3778 daysG2250?” 19And He saidG3004 to them, “WhatG4169 sortG4169 ofG4169 thingsG4169?” And they saidG3004 to Him, “ThoseG3588 aboutG4012 5JesusG2424 the NazareneG3479, whoG3739 provedG1096 to be a 6prophetG4396 mightyG1415 in deedG2041 and wordG3056 inG1726 theG1726 sightG1726 of GodG2316 and allG3956 the peopleG2992, 20and howG3704 the chiefG749 priestsG749 and our 7rulersG758 handedG3860 Him overG3860 to be sentencedG2917 to deathG2288, and crucifiedG4717 Him. 21But we 8were hopingG1679 that it was He who wasG3195 goingG3195 toG3195 9redeemG3084 IsraelG2474. IndeedG235, besidesG2532G4862 allG3956 thisG3778, it is now the thirdG5154 dayG2250 sinceG575G3739 theseG3778 thingsG3778 happenedG1096. 22But alsoG2532 someG5100 womenG1135 amongG1537 us leftG1839 us bewilderedG1839. 10When they were at the tombG3419 earlyG3720 inG3720 theG3720 morningG3720, 23and did not findG2147 His bodyG4983, they cameG2064, sayingG3004 that they had alsoG2532 seenG3708 a visionG3701 of angelsG32 whoG3739 saidG3004 that He wasG2198 aliveG2198. 24And so someG5100 of thoseG3588 who were with us wentG565 to the tombG3419, and foundG2147 it justG2531 exactlyG3779 asG2531 the womenG1135 alsoG2532 had saidG3004; but Him they did not seeG3708.” 25And then He saidG3004 to them, “11You foolishG453 menG453 and slowG1021 of heartG2588 to believeG4100 in allG3956 that 12the prophetsG4396 have spokenG2980! 2613Was it not necessaryG1163 for the 14ChristG5547 to sufferG3958 theseG3778 thingsG3778 and to comeG1525 intoG1525 His gloryG1391?” 27ThenG2532 beginningG757 15with 16MosesG3475 and 17with allG3956 the 18ProphetsG4396, He explainedG1329 to them the things written aboutG4012 HimselfG1438 in allG3956 the ScripturesG1124.

28And they approachedG1448 the villageG2968 whereG3757 they were goingG4198, and 19He gaveG4364 theG4364 impressionG4364 that He was goingG4198 fartherG4206. 29And so they stronglyG3849 urgedG3849 Him, sayingG3004, “StayG3306 with us, for it is getting towardG4314 eveningG2073, and the dayG2250 20is nowG2235 nearlyG2827 overG2827.” SoG2532 He wentG1525 inG1525 to stayG3306 with them. 30And it cameG1096 aboutG1096, whenG1722 He had reclinedG2625 at the table with them, that He tookG2983 the breadG740 and 21blessedG2127 it, and He brokeG2806 it and began givingG1929 it to them. 31And then their 22eyesG3788 were openedG1272 and they recognizedG1921 Him; and He vanishedG855 from 23their sightG846. 32They saidG3004 to oneG240 anotherG240, “24Were our heartsG2588 not burningG2545 withinG1722 us whenG5613 He was speakingG2980 to us on the roadG3598, whileG5613 He 25was 26explainingG1272 the ScripturesG1124 to us?” 33And they gotG450 upG450 that veryG846 hourG5610 and returnedG5290 to JerusalemG2419, and 27foundG2147 the elevenG1733 gatheredG120 togetherG120 and 28thoseG3588 whoG3588 were with them, 34sayingG3004, “29The LordG2962 has reallyG3689 risenG1453 and 30has appearedG3708 to SimonG4613!”
