Luke 9:31-51
31whoG3739, appearingG3708 in 1gloryG1391, were speakingG3004 of His 2departureG1841 whichG3739 He was aboutG3195 to accomplishG4137 at JerusalemG2419. 32NowG1161 PeterG4074 and his companionsG3588G4862 3had beenG1510 overcomeG916 with sleepG5258; but when they were fullyG1235 awakeG1235, they sawG3708 His gloryG1391 and the twoG1417 menG435 standingG4921 with Him. 33And as 4theseG846 were leavingG1316 Him, PeterG4074 saidG3004 to JesusG2424, “5MasterG1988, it is goodG2570 for us to be hereG5602; 6let us makeG4160 threeG5140 7tabernaclesG4633: oneG1520 for You, and oneG1520 for MosesG3475, and oneG1520 for ElijahG2243”--8not realizingG3609 whatG3739 he was sayingG3004. 34While he was sayingG3004 thisG3778, a cloudG3507 9formedG1096 and began to overshadowG1982 them; and they were afraidG5399 as they enteredG1525 the cloudG3507. 35ThenG2532 10a voiceG5456 cameG1096 out of the cloudG3507, sayingG3004, “11ThisG3778 is My SonG5207, My ChosenG1586 One; listenG191 to Him!” 36And whenG1722 the voiceG5456 12had spokenG1096, JesusG2424 was foundG2147 aloneG3441. And 13they keptG4601 silentG4601, and reportedG518 to noG3762 oneG3762 in thoseG1565 daysG2250 anyG3762 of the things whichG3739 they had seenG3708.
3714On the nextG1836 dayG2250, when they cameG1096 downG2718 from the mountainG3735, a largeG4183 crowdG3793 metG4876 Him. 38And a manG435 from the crowdG3793 shoutedG994, sayingG3004, “TeacherG1320, I begG1189 You to lookG1914 at my sonG5207, for he is my 15onlyG3439 boy, 39and a spiritG4151 seizesG2983 him, and he suddenlyG1810 screamsG2896, and it throwsG4682 him into a convulsionG4682 with foamingG876 at the mouth; and onlyG3433 with difficultyG3433 does it leaveG672 him, maulingG4937 him as it leavesG672. 40I beggedG1189 Your disciplesG3101 to castG1544 it out, and they couldG1410 not.” 41And JesusG2424 answeredG611 and saidG3004, “You unbelievingG571 and pervertedG1294 generationG1074, howG2193 longG2193G4219 shall I be with you and putG430 up with you? BringG4317 your sonG5207 hereG5602.” 42While he was stillG2089 approachingG4334, the demonG1140 16slammedG4486 him to the ground and threwG4952 him into a convulsionG4952. But JesusG2424 rebukedG2008 the uncleanG169 spiritG4151, and healedG2390 the boyG3816 and gaveG591 him backG591 to his fatherG3962. 43And they were allG3956 amazedG1605 at the 1718greatnessG3168 of GodG2316.
19But while everyoneG3956 was marvelingG2296 at allG3956 that He was doingG4160, He saidG3004 to His disciplesG3101, 44“Let theseG3778 wordsG3056 sinkG5087 into your earsG3775; 20for the SonG5207 of ManG444 is goingG3195 to be 21deliveredG3860 into the handsG5495 of menG444.” 45But 22they 23did not understandG50 thisG3778 statementG4487, and it was concealedG3871 from them soG2443 that they would not perceiveG143 it; and they were afraidG5399 to askG2065 Him aboutG4012 thisG3778 statementG4487.
4624An argumentG1261 25startedG1525 amongG1722 them as to whichG5101 of them might be the greatestG3173. 47But JesusG2424, 26knowingG3609 27whatG1261 they were thinkingG1261 in their heartG2588, tookG1949 a childG3813 and stoodG2476 him by His sideG3844, 48and saidG3004 to them, “28WhoeverG3739G1437 receivesG1209 thisG3778 childG3813 in My nameG3686 receivesG1209 Me, and whoeverG3739G302 receivesG1209 Me receivesG1209 Him who sentG649 Me; 29for the oneG3588 who is leastG3398 amongG1722 allG3956 of you, thisG3778 is the one who is greatG3173.”
4930JohnG2491 answeredG611 and saidG3004, “31MasterG1988, we sawG3708 someoneG5100 castingG1544 out demonsG1140 in Your nameG3686; and we tried to preventG2967 him becauseG3754 he does not followG190 along with us.” 50But JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, “Do not hinderG2967 him; 32for he whoG3739 is not againstG2596 you is 33for you.”
51WhenG1722 the daysG2250 were approachingG4845 for 34His 35ascensionG354, He 36was determinedG4741 37to goG4198 to JerusalemG2419;
