Acts 13:27-44
27For thoseG3588 who liveG2730 in JerusalemG2419, and their 1rulersG758, 2recognizingG50 neither Him norG2532 the 3utterancesG5456 of 4the prophetsG4396 which are 5readG314 everyG3956 SabbathG4521, fulfilledG4137 these by condemningG2919 Him. 28And though they foundG2147 noG3367 groundG156 for putting Him to death, they 6askedG154 PilateG4091 that He be 7executedG337. 29WhenG5613 they had 8carriedG5055 out allG3956 that was writtenG1125 concerningG4012 Him, 9they tookG2507 Him downG2507 from 10the 11crossG3586 and 12laidG5087 Him in a tombG3419. 30But GodG2316 13raisedG1453 Him from the deadG3498; 31and for manyG4183 daysG2250 14He appearedG3708 to thoseG3588 who cameG4872 up with Him from GalileeG1056 to JerusalemG2419, the very onesG3748 whoG3748 are nowG3568 15His witnessesG3144 to the peopleG2992. 32And we 16preachG2097 to you the goodG2097 newsG2097 of 17the promiseG1860 madeG1096 to the fathersG3962, 33that GodG2316 has fulfilledG1603 thisG3778 promise 18to our childrenG5043 in that He 19raisedG450 up JesusG2424, as it is alsoG2532 writtenG1125 in the secondG1208 PsalmG5568, ‘20You are My SonG5207; todayG4594 I have begottenG1080 You.’ 34As for the fact that He 21raisedG450 Him up from the deadG3498, noG3371 longerG3371 to returnG5290 to decayG1312, He has spokenG3004 in thisG3779 wayG3779: ‘22I will giveG1325 you the holyG3741 and 23sureG4103 blessings of DavidG1160.’ 35ThereforeG1360 He alsoG2532 saysG3004 in anotherG2087 Psalm, ‘24You will not 25allowG1325 Your 26HolyG3741 OneG3741 to 27undergoG3708 decayG1312.’ 36For 28DavidG1160, after he had 29servedG5256 30the purposeG1012 of GodG2316 in his ownG2398 generationG1074, 31fellG2837 asleepG2837, and was laidG4369 amongG4314 his fathersG3962 and 32underwentG3708 decayG1312; 37but He whomG3739 GodG2316 33raisedG1453 did not 34undergoG3708 decayG1312. 38ThereforeG3767 let it be knownG1110 to you, brethrenG435G80, that 35throughG1223 36Him forgivenessG859 of sinsG266 is proclaimedG2605 to you, 39and 37throughG1722 Him 38everyoneG3956 who believesG4100 is 39freedG1344 40from allG3956 thingsG3956, from whichG3739 you couldG1410 not be 41freedG1344 42throughG1722 the LawG3551 of MosesG3475. 40ThereforeG3767 takeG991 heedG991, soG3361 that the thingG3004 spokenG3004 of 43in the ProphetsG4396 may not comeG1904 upon you:41‘44BeholdG3708, you scoffersG2707, and marvelG2296, and 45perishG853; For I am accomplishingG2038 a workG2041 in your daysG2250, A workG2041 whichG3739 you will neverG3756G3361 believeG4100, thoughG1437 someoneG5100 should describeG1555 it to you.’”
42As 46Paul and Barnabas were goingG1826 out, the people kept beggingG3870 that theseG3778 47thingsG4487 might be spokenG2980 to them the nextG3342 48SabbathG4521. 43NowG1161 when the meeting of the synagogueG4864 had brokenG3089 up, manyG4183 of the JewsG2453 and of the 49God-fearingG4576 5051proselytesG4339 followedG190 PaulG3972 and BarnabasG921, whoG3748, speakingG4354 to them, were urgingG3982 them to continueG4357 in 52the graceG5485 of GodG2316.
44The nextG2064 53SabbathG4521 nearlyG4975 the wholeG3956 cityG4172 assembledG4863 to hearG191 the wordG3056 of 54the LordG2316.
