29And he that has sentG3992 me isG1510 with me; he has not leftG863 me aloneG3441, because I do alwaysG3842 the things that areG1510 pleasingG701 to him.

30As he spokeG2980 these thingsG3778 manyG4183 believedG4100 on him.

31JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 saidG3004 to the JewsG2453 who believedG4100 him, If ye abideG3306 in my wordG3056, ye areG1510 trulyG230 my disciplesG3101;

32and ye shall knowG1097 the truthG225, and the truthG225 shall setG1659 you freeG1659.

33They answeredG611 him, We areG1510 Abraham's seedG4690, and have never beenG1510 under bondage to any oneG3762; howG4459 sayest thou, Ye shall becomeG1096 freeG1658?

34JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, Verily, verily, I sayG3004 to you, Every oneG3588 that practises sinG266 isG1510 the bondman of sinG266.

35NowG1161 the bondman abidesG3306 not in the houseG3614 for ever: the sonG5207 abidesG3306 for ever.

37I know that ye areG1510 Abraham's seedG4690; but ye seekG2212 to killG615 me, because my wordG3056 has no entrance in you.

38I speakG2980 what I have seenG3708 with my FatherG3962, and ye then do what ye have seenG3708 with your fatherG3962.

39They answeredG611 and saidG3004 to him, AbrahamG11 isG1510 our fatherG3962. JesusG2424 saysG3004 to them, If ye wereG1510 Abraham's childrenG5043, ye would do the worksG2041 of AbrahamG11;

40but nowG1161 ye seekG2212 to killG615 me, a manG444 who has spokenG2980 the truthG225 to you, which I have heardG191 from 1GodG2316: this did not AbrahamG11.

41Ye do the worksG2041 of your fatherG3962. They saidG3004 [therefore] to him, We are not bornG1080 of fornication; we have oneG1520 fatherG3962, 2GodG2316.

43WhyG5101 do ye not knowG1097 my speechG3056? Because ye cannot hearG191 my wordG3056.

44Ye areG1510 of the devilG1228, as [your] fatherG3962, and ye desireG2309 to do the lustsG1939 of your fatherG3962. He wasG1510 a murdererG443 from the beginning, and has not stoodG2476 in the truthG225, because there isG1510 no truthG225 in him. WhenG3752 he speaksG2980 falsehoodG5579, he speaksG2980 of what isG1510 his ownG2398; for he isG1510 a liarG5583 and its fatherG3962:

45and because I speakG3004 the truthG225, ye do not believeG4100 me.

46Which of you convinces me of sinG266? If I speakG3004 truthG225, whyG5101 do ye not believeG4100 me?
