Matthew 19

1And it cameG2064 to passG1096 whenG3753 JesusG2424 had finishedG5055 these wordsG3056, he departed from GalileeG1056, and cameG2064 into the borders of Judæa beyond the JordanG2446; 2and greatG4183 multitudesG3793 followedG190 him; and he healedG2323 them there.

3And there cameG4334 unto him PhariseesG5330, trying him, and sayingG3004, Is it lawfulG1832 for a manG444 to put awayG630 his wifeG1135 for every causeG156? 4And he answeredG611 and saidG3004, Have ye not readG314, that he who madeG4160 them from the beginning madeG4160 them maleG730 and femaleG2338, 5and saidG3004, For this cause shall a manG444 leaveG2641 his fatherG3962 and motherG3384, and shall cleave to his wifeG1135; and the twoG1417 shall become oneG1520 fleshG4561? 6So that they areG1510 no more twoG1417, but oneG1520 fleshG4561. What thereforeG3767 GodG2316 hath joined togetherG4801, let not manG444 put asunder. 7They sayG3004 unto him, WhyG5101 then did MosesG3475 commandG1781 to giveG1325 a bill of divorcement, and to put her awayG630? 8He saith unto them, MosesG3475 for your hardnessG4641 of heartG4641 suffered you to put awayG630 your wivesG1135: but from the beginning it hath not been soG3779. 9And I sayG3004 unto you, Whosoever shall put awayG630 his wifeG1135, except for fornication, and shall marryG1060 another, committeth adulteryG3429: and he that marrieth her when she is put awayG630 committeth adulteryG3429. 10The disciplesG3101 sayG3004 unto him, If the case of the manG444 isG1510 soG3779 with his wifeG1135, it isG1510 not expedient to marryG1060. 11But he saidG3004 unto them, Not all men can receive this sayingG3004, but they to whom it is givenG1325. 12For there areG1510 eunuchsG2135, that wereG1510 so bornG1080 from their mother’sG3384 wombG2836: and there areG1510 eunuchsG2135, that wereG1510 made eunuchsG2135 by menG444: and there areG1510 eunuchsG2135, that made themselves eunuchsG2135 for the kingdomG932 of heaven’s sakeG1223. He that isG1510 ableG1410 to receive it, let him receive it.

13Then were there broughtG4374 unto him little childrenG3813, that he should lay his handsG5495 on them, and prayG4336: and the disciplesG3101 rebukedG2008 them. 14But JesusG2424 saidG3004, Suffer the little childrenG3813, and forbidG2967 them not, to comeG2064 unto me: for to suchG5108 belongeth the kingdomG932 of heavenG3772. 15And he laidG2007 his handsG5495 on them, and departedG4198 thence.

16And beholdG2400, oneG1520 cameG4334 to him and saidG3004, TeacherG1320, what goodG18 thingG18 shall I do, that I may have eternalG166 lifeG2222? 17And he saidG3004 unto him, WhyG5101 askest thou me concerningG4012 that which isG1510 goodG18? OneG1520 there isG1510 who isG1510 goodG18: but if thou wouldest enterG1525 into lifeG2222, keepG5083 the commandmentsG1785. 18He saith unto him, Which? And JesusG2424 saidG3004, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commitG3431 adulteryG3431, Thou shalt not stealG2813, Thou shalt not bearG5576 falseG5576 witnessG5576, 19HonorG5091 thy fatherG3962 and thy motherG3384; and, Thou shalt loveG25 thy neighbor as thyself. 20The youngG3495 manG3778 saith unto him, All these thingsG3778 have I observed: what lackG5302 I yetG2089? 21JesusG2424 saidG5346 unto him, If thou wouldest beG1510 perfectG5046, goG5217, sellG4453 that which thou hast, and giveG1325 to the poorG4434, and thou shalt have treasureG2344 in heavenG3772: and comeG1204, followG190 me. 22But when the youngG3495 manG3495 heardG191 the sayingG3056, he wentG565 awayG565 sorrowfulG3076; for he wasG1510 oneG3588 that had greatG4183 possessions.

23And JesusG2424 saidG3004 unto his disciplesG3101, Verily I sayG3004 unto you, It is hard for a richG4145 manG4145 to enterG1525 into the kingdomG932 of heavenG3772. 24And againG3825 I sayG3004 unto you, It isG1510 easier for a camelG2574 to goG1525 through a needle’s eye, than for a richG4145 manG4145 to enterG1525 into the kingdomG932 of GodG2316. 25And when the disciplesG3101 heardG191 it, they were astonishedG1605 exceedinglyG4970, sayingG3004, Who thenG1161 can be savedG4982? 26And JesusG2424 lookingG1689 upon them saidG3004 to them, With menG444 this isG1510 impossibleG102; but with GodG2316 all thingsG3778 areG1510 possibleG1415. 27Then answeredG611 PeterG4074 and saidG3004 unto him, Lo, we have leftG863 all, and followedG190 thee; what then shall we have? 28And JesusG2424 saidG3004 unto them, Verily I sayG3004 unto you, that ye who have followedG190 me, in the regenerationG3824 whenG3752 the SonG5207 of manG444 shall sitG2521 on the throneG2362 of his gloryG1391, ye alsoG2532 shall sitG2521 upon twelveG1427 thronesG2362, judgingG2919 the twelveG1427 tribesG5443 of IsraelG2474. 29And every oneG3588 that hath leftG863 housesG3614, or brethren, or sistersG79, or fatherG3962, or motherG3384, or childrenG5043, or lands, for my name’sG3686 sakeG1752, shall receiveG2983 a hundredfold, and shall inheritG2816 eternalG166 lifeG2222. 30But manyG4183 shall beG1510 lastG2078 that areG1510 firstG4413; and firstG4413 that areG1510 lastG2078.
