Peter’s Second Sermon
11While he was clingingG2902 to 14PeterG4074 and JohnG2491, allG3956 the peopleG2992 ranG4936 togetherG4936 to them at the 1516porticoG4745 namedG2564 Solomon’sG4672, completelyG1569 astonishedG1569. 12But when PeterG4074 sawG3708 this, he repliedG611 to the peopleG2992, “MenG435 of IsraelG2475, whyG5101 areG2296 you amazedG2296 at thisG3778, orG2228 whyG5101 are you staringG816 at us, asG5613 thoughG5613 by our ownG2398 powerG1411 orG2228 godlinessG2150 we had madeG4160 him walkG4043? 1317The GodG2316 of AbrahamG11, IsaacG2464, and JacobG2384, 18the GodG2316 of our fathersG3962, has glorifiedG1392 His 1920ServantG3816 JesusG2424, the one whomG3739 21you handedG3860 overG3860 and disownedG720 in the presenceG4383 of 22PilateG4091, when he had 23decidedG2919 to releaseG630 Him. 14But you disownedG720 24the HolyG40 and RighteousG1342 OneG1342, and 25askedG154 for a murdererG5406 to be grantedG5483 to you, 15but putG615 toG615 deathG615 the 2627PrinceG747 of lifeG2222, whomG3739 28GodG2316 raisedG1453 from the deadG3498, 29a fact to whichG3739 we are 30witnessesG3144. 16And on the basisG1909 of faithG4102 31in His nameG3686, it is 32the nameG3686 of Jesus which has strengthenedG4732 thisG3778 man whomG3739 you seeG2334 and knowG3609; and the faithG4102 which comes throughG1223 Him has givenG1325 him thisG3778 perfectG3647 healthG3647 in the presenceG561 of you allG3956.
17“And nowG3568, brothersG80, I knowG3609 that you actedG4238 33in ignoranceG52, justG5618 as your 34rulersG758 alsoG2532 did. 18But the things whichG3739 35GodG2316 previouslyG4293 announcedG4293 by the mouthsG4750 of allG3956 the prophetsG4396, 36that His 37ChristG5547 would sufferG3958, He has fulfilledG4137 inG3779 thisG3779 wayG3779. 19ThereforeG3767 38repentG3340 and returnG1994, soG1519 thatG1519 your sinsG266 may be wipedG1813 awayG1813, inG3704 orderG3704 thatG3704 39timesG2540 of refreshingG403 may comeG2064 from the presenceG4383 of the LordG2962; 20and that He may sendG649 JesusG2424, the 40ChristG5547 appointedG4400 for you, 2141whomG3739 heavenG3772 mustG1163 receiveG1209 untilG891 the 42periodG5550 of 43restorationG605 of allG3956 thingsG3956, about whichG3739 44GodG2316 spokeG2980 by the mouthsG4750 of His holyG40 prophetsG4396 from ancientG165 timesG165. 22MosesG3475 saidG3004, ‘45The LordG2962 GodG2316 will raiseG450 up for you a prophetG4396 likeG5613 me from your countrymenG80; to Him you shall listenG191 regardingG2596 everythingG3956 He saysG2980 to you. 2346And it shall be that everyG3956 47soulG5590 that does not listenG191 to that prophetG4396 48shall be utterlyG1842 destroyedG1842 from amongG1537 the peopleG2992.’ 24And likewiseG2532, 49allG3956 the prophetsG4396 whoG3745 have spokenG2980 from SamuelG4545 and his successorsG2517 onward, have alsoG2532 announcedG2605 theseG3778 daysG2250. 25It is you who are 50the sonsG5207 of the prophetsG4396 and of the 51covenantG1242 whichG3739 GodG2316 ordainedG1303 with your fathersG3962, sayingG3004 to AbrahamG11, ‘52And in your seedG4690 allG3956 the familiesG3965 of the earthG1093 shall be blessedG1757.’ 26GodG2316 53raisedG450 upG450 His 54ServantG3816 for you 55firstG4413, and sentG649 Him to blessG2127 you by turningG654 everyG1538 oneG1538 of you from your wickedG4189 waysG4189.”
