Matthew 19:16-30

16And someoneεἷςheisG1520cameπροσελθὼνproselthōnG4334to Him and saidG3004, “TeacherδιδάσκαλεdidaskaleG1320,whatτίtiG5101goodἀγαθὸνagathonG18thingG18shall I doποιήσωpoiēsōG4160soG2443thatG2443I may obtainσχῶschōG2192eternalαἰώνιον;aiōnionG166lifeζωὴνzōēnG2222?”

17And He saidG3004to him,“WhyτίtiG5101are you askingἐρωτᾷςerōtasG2065Me aboutπερὶperiG4012whatG18isG18goodG18? There is onlyOneεἷςheisG1520who is goodG18; butifεἰeiG1487you wantθέλειςtheleisG2309to enterεἰσελθεῖν,eiseltheinG1525lifeζωὴνzōēnG2222,keepτήρησονtērēsonG5083the commandmentsἐντολάς.¶entolasG1785.”

18Thenhe saidΛέγειLegeiG3004to Him, “WhichG4169onesG4169?”And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG5346, “You shall not commitG5407murderφονεύσεις,phoneuseisG5407;You shall not commitμοιχεύσεις,moicheuseisG3431adulteryG3431;You shall not stealκλέψεις,klepseisG2813;You shall not giveG5576falseψευδομαρτυρήσεις,pseudomarturēseisG5576testimonyG5576;

19HonorτίμαtimaG5091your fatherπατέραpateraG3962and motherμητέρα,mēteraG3384; andYou shall loveἀγαπήσειςagapēseisG25your neighborπλησίονplēsionG4139as yourselfG4572.”

20The youngνεανίσκος·neaniskosG3495manG3495saidΛέγειLegeiG3004to Him, “AllπάνταpantaG3956theseταῦταtautaG3778I have keptἐφύλαξαephulaxaG5442;whatτίtiG5101amG5302I stillἔτιetiG2089lackingὑστερῶ;¶husterōG5302?”

21JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidἜφηEphēG5346to him,“IfεἰeiG1487you wantθέλειςtheleisG2309to becompleteτέλειοςteleiosG5046,goὕπαγεhupageG5217andsellπώλησόνpōlēsonG4453your possessionsὑπάρχονταhuparchontaG5225and giveδὸςdosG1325to thepoorπτωχοῖς·ptōchoisG4434,and you will haveἕξειςhexeisG2192treasureθησαυρὸνthēsauronG2344in heavenοὐρανοῖς,ouranoisG3772;and comeδεῦροdeuroG1204,followἀκολούθειakoloutheiG190Me.”

22But when the youngνεανίσκοςneaniskosG3495manG3495heardἈκούσαςAkousasG191thisG3778statementλόγονlogonG3056,he wentG565awayἀπῆλθενapēlthenG565grievingλυπούμενος·lupoumenosG3076;for he was one who ownedἔχωνechōnG2192muchπολλά.¶pollaG4183propertyκτήματαktēmataG2933.

23And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidλέγωlegōG3004to His disciplesμαθηταῖςmathētaisG3101,“TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayG3004to you,it will be hardδυσκόλωςduskolōsG1423for a richπλούσιοςplousiosG4145personG4145to enterεἰσελεύσεταιeiseleusetaiG1525the kingdomβασιλείανbasileianG932of heavenοὐρανῶν.¶ouranōnG3772.

24And againΠάλινPalinG3825I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you,it is easierεὐκοπώτερόνeukopōteronG2123for a camelκάμηλονkamēlonG2574to goδιελθεῖνdieltheinG1330throughδιὰdiaG1223the eyeG5144of a needleῥαφίδοςrhaphidosG4476,thanἢēG2228for a richπλούσιονplousionG4145personG4145to enterεἰσελθεῖνeiseltheinG1525the kingdomβασιλείανbasileianG932of Godθεοῦ.¶theouG2316.”

25When the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101heardἈκούσαντεςAkousantesG191this,they were veryσφόδραsphodraG4970astonishedἐξεπλήσσοντοexeplēssontoG1605and saidλέγοντες·legontesG3004, “ThenἄραaraG686whoτίςtisG5101canδύναταιdunataiG1410be savedσωθῆναι;sōthēnaiG4982?”

26And lookingἐμβλέψαςemblepsasG1689atG1689them,JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to them, “With peopleἀνθρώποιςanthrōpoisG444thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778is impossibleἀδύνατόνadunatonG102,but with GodθεῷtheōG2316allG3956thingsπάνταpantaG3956are possibleδυνατάdunataG1415.”

27ThenΤότεToteG5119PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074respondedἀποκριθεὶςapokritheisG611and saidG3004to Him, “BeholdἰδοὺidouG2400,we have leftἀφήκαμενaphēkamenG863everythingπάνταpantaG3956and followedἠκολουθήσαμένēkolouthēsamenG190You; whatτίtiG5101thenἄραaraG686will there be for us?”

28And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidλέγωlegōG3004to them,“TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayG3004to you, that you who have followedἀκολουθήσαντέςakolouthēsantesG190Me, in theregenerationπαλιγγενεσίᾳ,palingenesiaG3824whenὅτανhotanG3752the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444will sitκαθίσῃkathisēG2523onHis gloriousδόξηςdoxēsG1391throneθρόνουthronouG2362,you alsoκαὶkaiG2532shall sitκαθήσεσθεkathēsestheG2521upon twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427thronesθρόνουςthronousG2362,judgingκρίνοντεςkrinontesG2919the twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427tribesφυλὰςphulasG5443of IsraelἸσραήλ.¶IsraēlG2474.
