46But someτινὲςtinesG5100of them wentἀπῆλθονapēlthonG565to thePhariseesΦαρισαίουςPharisaiousG5330and toldG3004them the things whichἃhaG3739JesusἸησοῦς.¶IēsousG2424had doneἐποίησενepoiēsenG4160.

47ThereforeοὖνounG3767the chiefἀρχιερεῖςarchiereisG749priestsG749and the PhariseesΦαρισαῖοιPharisaioiG5330convenedΣυνήγαγονSunēgagonG4863acouncilσυνέδριονsunedrionG4892meetingG4892,and they were sayingἔλεγον·elegonG3004, “WhatτίtiG5101are wedoingποιοῦμεν,poioumenG4160inG3754regardG3754toG3754theG3754factG3754thatG3754thisοὗτοςhoutosG3778ManἄνθρωποςanthrōposG444is performingποιεῖpoieiG4160manyπολλὰpollaG4183signsσημεῖα;sēmeiaG4592?

48IfἐὰνeanG1437we letἀφῶμενaphōmenG863Him go onlikeG3779thisG3779,allπάντεςpantesG3956the peoplewill believeπιστεύσουσινpisteusousinG4100in Him, and the RomansῬωμαῖοιRhōmaioiG4514will comeἐλεύσονταιeleusontaiG2064and takeἀροῦσινarousinG142overG142bothG2532ourplaceτόπονtoponG5117and our nationἔθνος.¶ethnosG1484.”

49But oneΕἷςHeisG1520of them,CaiaphasΚαϊάφας,KaiaphasG2533,who was highG749priestἀρχιερεὺςarchiereusG749that yearἐνιαυτοῦeniautouG1763,saidG3004to them, “You knowG3609nothingG3762atG3762allG3762,

50norοὐδὲoudeG3761are you takingG3049intoG3049accountG3049thatit isG4851inG4851your bestG4851interestG4851that oneεἷςheisG1520manἄνθρωποςanthrōposG444dieἀποθάνῃapothanēG599for the peopleλαοῦ,laouG2992,and that the wholeὅλονholonG3650nationἔθνοςethnosG1484not perishἀπόληται.apolētaiG622instead.”

51NowδὲdeG1161he did not sayG3004thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778on his ownἑαυτοῦhe'autouG1438, butas he was highG749priestἀρχιερεὺςarchiereusG749that yearἐνιαυτοῦeniautouG1763,he prophesiedἐπροφήτευσενeprophēteusenG4395that JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424wasG3195goingG3195toG3195dieἀποθνῄσκεινapothnēskeinG599for the nationἔθνους,ethnousG1484;

52and not for the nationἔθνουςethnousG1484onlyG3440,but inG2443orderG2443thatG2443He might alsoG2532gatherσυναγάγῃsunagagēG4863togetherG4863into oneἕν.¶henG1520the childrenτέκναteknaG5043of GodθεοῦtheouG2316who are scatteredδιεσκορπισμέναdieskorpismenaG1287abroadG1287.

53SoοὖνounG3767from that dayἡμέραςhēmerasG2250on theyplannedG1011togetherG1011to killἀποκτείνωσινapokteinōsinG615Him.

55NowδὲdeG1161the PassoverπάσχαpaschaG3957of the JewsἸουδαίων,IoudaiōnG2453was nearἐγγὺςengusG1451,and manyπολλοὶpolloiG4183wentG305upG305to JerusalemἹεροσόλυμαHi'erosolumaG2414from the countryχώραςchōrasG5561priorπρὸproG4253to the PassoverπάσχαpaschaG3957,inG2443orderG2443toG2443purifyἁγνίσωσινhagnisōsinG48themselvesἑαυτούς.he'autousG1438.

56SoοὖνounG3767theywere lookingG2212forG2212JesusἸησοῦνIēsounG2424,and sayingἔλεγονelegonG3004to oneἀλλήλωνallēlōnG240anotherG240as they stoodἑστηκότες·hestēkotesG2476in the templeG2413area, “WhatτίtiG5101do you thinkδοκεῖdokeiG1380;that He will not comeἔλθῃelthēG2064to the feastἑορτήν;he'ortēnG1859atG3756 G3361allG3756 G3361?”
