Matthew 14:13-34
131NowG1161 when JesusG2424 heardG191 about John, He withdrewG402 from thereG1564 in a boatG4143 to a secludedG2048 placeG5117 by HimselfG2398; and when the 2peopleG3793 heardG191 of this, they followedG190 Him on footG3979 from the citiesG4172. 14When He wentG1831 3ashoreG1831, He 4sawG3708 a largeG4183 crowdG3793, and feltG4697 compassionG4697 for them and 5healedG2323 their sickG732.
15When it was eveningG3798, the disciplesG3101 cameG4334 to Him and saidG3004, “ThisG3588 placeG5117 is desolateG2048 and the hourG5610 is alreadyG2235 6lateG3928; soG3767 sendG630 the crowdsG3793 awayG630, that they may goG565 into the villagesG2968 and buyG59 foodG1033 for themselvesG1438.” 16But JesusG2424 saidG3004 to them, “They do not needG5532 to goG565 awayG565; you giveG1325 them something to eatG2068!” 17They saidG3004 to Him, “We haveG2192 hereG5602 onlyG3756G1487G3361 7fiveG4002 loavesG740 and twoG1417 fishG2486.” 18And He saidG3004, “BringG5342 them hereG5602 to Me.” 19OrderingG2753 the 8peopleG3793 to 9sitG347 downG347 on the grassG5528, He tookG2983 the fiveG4002 loavesG740 and the twoG1417 fishG2486, and lookingG308 up towardG1519 heavenG3772, He 10blessedG2127 the food, and breakingG2806 the loavesG740 He gaveG1325 them to the disciplesG3101, and the disciplesG3101 gave them to the crowdsG3793, 20and they allG3956 ateG2068 and were satisfiedG5526. They pickedG142 up whatG3588 was leftG4052 overG4052 of the brokenG2801 piecesG2801, twelveG1427 fullG4134 11basketsG2894. 21There were aboutG5616 fiveG4000 thousandG4000 menG435 who ateG2068, besidesG5565 womenG1135 and childrenG3813.
2212ImmediatelyG2112 He 13madeG315 the disciplesG3101 getG1684 into the boatG4143 and goG4254 aheadG4254 of Him to the otherG4008 sideG4008, whileG2193 He sentG630 the crowdsG3793 awayG630. 23After He had sentG630 the crowdsG3793 awayG630, 14He wentG305 up on the mountainG3735 by HimselfG2398 to prayG4336; and when it was eveningG3798, He was thereG1563 aloneG3441. 24But the boatG4143 was alreadyG2235 15a longG4183 distanceG4712 from the landG1093, 16batteredG928 by the wavesG2949; for the windG417 was 1718contraryG1727. 25And in 19the 20fourthG5067 watchG5438 of the nightG3571 He cameG2064 to them, walkingG4043 on the seaG2281. 26When the disciplesG3101 sawG3708 Him walkingG4043 on the seaG2281, they were terrifiedG5015, and saidG3004, “It is 21a ghostG5326!” And they criedG2896 out 22in fearG5401. 27But immediatelyG2117 JesusG2424 spokeG2980 to them, sayingG3004, “23TakeG2293 courageG2293, it is I; 24do not be afraidG5399.”
28PeterG4074 saidG3004 to Him, “LordG2962, ifG1487 it is You, commandG2753 me to comeG2064 to You on the waterG5204.” 29And He saidG3004, “ComeG2064!” And PeterG4074 gotG2597 out of the boatG4143, and walkedG4043 on the waterG5204 and cameG2064 towardG4314 JesusG2424. 30But seeingG991 the windG417, he became frightenedG5399, and beginningG757 to sinkG2670, he criedG2896 out, “LordG2962, saveG4982 me!” 31ImmediatelyG2112 JesusG2424 stretchedG1614 out His handG5495 and tookG1949 holdG1949 of him, and saidG3004 to him, “25You of littleG3640 faithG3640, whyG1519G5101 did you doubtG1365?” 32When they gotG305 into the boatG4143, the windG417 stoppedG2869. 33And thoseG3588 who were in the boatG4143 worshipedG4352 Him, sayingG3004, “You are certainlyG230 26God’sG2316 SonG5207!”
3427When they had crossedG1276 overG1276, they cameG2064 to landG1093 at 28GennesaretG1082.
