Acts 14:1-20
1In 1IconiumG2430 2they enteredG1525 the synagogueG4864 of the JewsG2453 togetherG2596G3588G846, and spokeG2980 in suchG3779 a mannerG3779 3that a largeG4183 numberG4128 of peopleG4128 believedG4100, bothG5037 of JewsG2453 and of 4GreeksG1672. 2But 5the JewsG2453 who 67disbelievedG544 stirredG1892 up the 8mindsG5590 of the GentilesG1484 and embitteredG2559 them againstG2596 9the brethrenG80. 3ThereforeG3767 they spentG1304 a longG2425 timeG5550 there 10speakingG3955 boldlyG3955 with reliance upon the LordG2962, who was testifyingG3140 to the wordG3056 of His graceG5485, grantingG1325 that 1112signsG4592 and wondersG5059 be doneG1096 by their handsG5495. 413But the 14peopleG4128 of the cityG4172 were dividedG4977; and someG3588G3303 15sidedG1510 with 16the JewsG2453, and someG3588 with 17the apostlesG652. 5And whenG5613 an attemptG3730 was madeG1096 by bothG5037 the GentilesG1484 and 18the JewsG2453 with their rulersG758, to mistreatG5195 and to 19stoneG3036 them, 6they became awareG4894 of it and fledG2703 to the citiesG4172 of 20LycaoniaG3071, 21LystraG3082 and 22DerbeG1191, and the surroundingG4066 regionG4066; 7and thereG2546 they continued to 23preachG2097 the gospelG2097.
8At 24LystraG3082 25a manG435 was sittingG2521 whoG3739 had noG102 strengthG102 in his feetG4228, lameG5560 from his mother’sG3384 wombG2836, whoG3739 had neverG3763 walkedG4043. 9ThisG3778 manG3778 was listeningG191 to PaulG3972 as he spokeG2980, whoG3739, 26when he had fixedG816 his gazeG816 on him and had seenG3708 that he hadG2192 27faithG4102 to be 28madeG4982 wellG4982, 10saidG3004 with a loudG3173 voiceG5456, “StandG450 uprightG3717 on your feetG4228.” 29And he leapedG242 up and began to walkG4043. 11When the crowdsG3793 sawG3708 whatG3739 PaulG3972 had doneG4160, they raisedG1869 their voiceG5456, sayingG3004 in the 30LycaonianG3072 languageG3072, “31The godsG2316 have becomeG3666 likeG3666 menG444 and have comeG2597 downG2597 to us.” 12And they began callingG2564 BarnabasG921, 32ZeusG2203, and PaulG3972, 33HermesG2060, becauseG1894 he was 34the chiefG2233 speakerG3056. 13The priestG2409 of ZeusG2203, whose temple was 35justG4253 outsideG4253 the cityG4172, broughtG5342 oxenG5022 and garlandsG4725 to the gatesG4440, and 36wantedG2309 to offerG2380 sacrificeG2380 with the crowdsG3793. 14But when 37the apostlesG652 BarnabasG921 and PaulG3972 heardG191 of it, they 38toreG1284 their 39robesG2440 and rushedG1601 out into the crowdG3793, cryingG2896 out 15and sayingG3004, “MenG435, whyG5101 are you doingG4160 theseG3778 thingsG3778? We are alsoG2532 40menG444 of the sameG3663 natureG3663 as you, and 41preachG2097 the gospelG2097 to you that you should turnG1994 from theseG3778 4243vainG3152 thingsG3152 to a 44livingG2198 GodG2316, 45whoG3739 madeG4160 the heavenG3772 and the earthG1093 and the seaG2281 and allG3956 that is in them. 1646In the generationsG1074 goneG3944 by He 47permittedG1439 allG3956 the 48nationsG1484 to 49goG4198 their own waysG3598; 17and yetG2543 50He did not leaveG863 HimselfG848 withoutG267 witnessG267, in that He didG19 goodG19 and 51gaveG1325 you rainsG5205 from heavenG3771 and fruitfulG2593 seasonsG2540, 52satisfyingG1705 your heartsG2588 with foodG5160 and gladnessG2167.” 18Even sayingG3004 theseG3778 thingsG3778, with difficultyG3433 they restrainedG2664 the crowdsG3793 from offeringG2380 sacrificeG2380 to them.
19But 53JewsG2453 cameG1904 from 54AntiochG490 and 55IconiumG2430, and having wonG3982 overG3982 the crowdsG3793, they 56stonedG3034 PaulG3972 and draggedG4951 him out of the cityG4172, supposingG3543 him to be deadG2348. 20But while 57the disciplesG3101 stoodG2944 aroundG2944 him, he gotG450 up and enteredG1525 the cityG4172. The nextG1887 dayG1887 he wentG1831 awayG1831 with BarnabasG921 to 58DerbeG1191.
