17For acovenantδιαθήκηdiathēkēG1242is validβεβαία,bebaiaG949only whenmen are deadνεκροῖςnekroisG3498,for it is neverG3379in forceἰσχύειischueiG2480whileὅτεhoteG3753the one who madeδιαθέμενος.diathemenosG1303it livesζῇzēaG2198.

20sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “ThisτοῦτοtoutoG3778is the bloodαἷμαhaimaG129of the covenantδιαθήκηςdiathēkēsG1242whichἧςhēsG3739Godθεός·theosG2316commandedἐνετείλατοeneteilatoG1781you.”

22And accordingκατὰkataG2596to theLawνόμονnomonG3551, one mayalmostσχεδὸνschedonG4975say,allG3956thingsπάνταpantaG3956are cleansedκαθαρίζεταιkatharizetaiG2511with bloodαἵματιaimatiG129, andwithoutχωρὶςchōrisG5565sheddingG130of bloodG130there is noοὐouG3756forgivenessἄφεσις.¶aphesisG859.

23ThereforeοὖνounG3767it was necessaryἈνάγκηAnagkēG318for thecopiesὑποδείγματαhupodeigmataG5262of the things in the heavensοὐρανοῖςouranoisG3772to be cleansedκαθαρίζεσθαιkatharizesthaiG2511with theseτούτοιςtoutoisG3778, butthe heavenlyἐπουράνιαepouraniaG2032thingsG2032themselvesαὐτὰautaG846with betterG2909sacrificesθυσίαιςthusiaisG2378thanπαρὰparaG3844theseταύτας.tautasG3778.
