Matthew 13:4-23

4and as he sowedG4687, some [grains] fellG4098 along the wayG3598, and the birdsG4071 cameG2064 and devouredG2719 them;

5and othersG243 fellG4098 upon the rockyG4075 places whereG3699 they had not muchG4183 earthG1093, and immediatelyG2112 they sprang up out of [the groundG1093] because of not having [any] depthG899 of earthG1093,

6but when the sunG2246 rose they were burned up, and because of not having [any] rootG4491 were dried up;

7and othersG243 fellG4098 upon the thornsG173, and the thornsG173 grew up and choked them;

8and othersG243 fellG4098 upon the goodG2570 groundG1093, and produced fruitG2590, oneG3739 a hundredG1540, oneG3739 sixtyG1835, and oneG3739 thirtyG5144.

9He that has earsG3775, let him hearG191.

10And the disciplesG3101 cameG4334 up and saidG3004 to him, WhyG5101 speakest thou to them in parablesG3850?

11And he answeringG611 saidG3004 to them, Because to you it is givenG1325 to knowG1097 the mysteriesG3466 of the kingdomG932 of the heavensG3772, but to them it is not givenG1325;

12for whoever has, to him shall be givenG1325, and he shall be caused to be in abundanceG4052; but he who has not, evenG2532 what he has shall be takenG142 awayG142 from him.

13For this cause I speakG2980 to them in parablesG3850, because seeingG991 they do not seeG991, and hearingG191 they do not hearG191 nor understandG4920;

14and in them is filled up the prophecyG4394 of Esaias, which saysG3004, HearingG191 ye shall hearG191 and shall not understandG4920, and beholding ye shall behold and not seeG3708;

15for the heartG2588 of this peopleG2992 has grown fat, and they have heardG191 heavily with their earsG3775, and they have closed their eyesG3788 as asleep, lest they should seeG3708 with the eyesG3788, and hearG191 with the earsG3775, and understandG4920 with the heartG2588, and should be converted, and I should healG2390 them.

16But blessed are your eyesG3788 because they seeG991, and your earsG3775 because they hearG191;

17for verily I sayG3004 unto you, that manyG4183 prophetsG4396 and righteousG1342 [menG1342] have desiredG1937 to seeG3708 the thingsG4183 which ye behold and did not seeG3708 [them], and to hearG191 the thingsG4183 which ye hearG191 and did not hearG191 [them].

18Ye, thereforeG3767, hearG191 the parableG3850 of the sower.

19From every oneG3778 who hearsG191 the wordG3056 of the kingdomG932 and does not understandG4920 [it], the wickedG4190 oneG3778 comesG2064 and catches awayG726 what wasG1510 sownG4687 in his heartG2588: this isG1510 he that isG1510 sownG4687 by the wayside.

20But he that isG1510 sownG4687 on the rockyG4075 places — this isG1510 he who hearsG191 the wordG3056 and immediately receivesG2983 it with joyG5479,

21but has no rootG4491 in himself, but isG1510 for a time only; and when tribulationG2347 or persecutionG1375 happensG1096 on accountG3056 of the wordG3056, he isG1510 immediately offendedG4624.
