Darby Bible
John 4:1-9
WhenG5613 thereforeG3767 the Lord knewG1097 that the PhariseesG5330 had heardG191 that JesusG2424 makesG4160 and baptises moreG4183 disciplesG3101 than JohnG2491
(however, JesusG2424 himself did not baptise, but his disciplesG3101),
he leftG863 Judaea and wentG565 awayG565 againG3825 unto GalileeG1056.
And he must needs passG1330 through SamariaG4540.
He comesG2064 thereforeG3767 to a cityG4172 of SamariaG4540 called Sychar, near to the landG5564 which JacobG2384 gaveG1325 to his sonG5207 JosephG2501.
NowG1161 a fountain of Jacob's wasG1510 there; JesusG2424 thereforeG3767, beingG1510 wearied with the wayG3779 he had come, sat just as he wasG1510 at the fountain. It wasG1510 about the sixthG1623 hourG5610.
A womanG1135 comesG2064 out of SamariaG4540 to drawG501 waterG5204. JesusG2424 saysG3004 to her, GiveG1325 me to drinkG4095
(for his disciplesG3101 had goneG565 awayG565 into the cityG4172 that they might buyG59 provisions).
The SamaritanG4542 womanG1135 thereforeG3767 saysG3004 to him, HowG4459 dost thou, beingG1510 a JewG2453, askG154 to drinkG4095 of me who amG1510 a SamaritanG4542 womanG1135? for JewsG2453 have no intercourse with Samaritans.
