Ezekiel 5
Revised Version 1895
1And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, takeH3947 thee a sharpH2299 swordH2719, as a barber’sH1532 razorH8593 shalt thou takeH3947 it unto thee, and shalt cause it to passH5674 uponH5921 thine headH7218 and uponH5921 thy beardH2206: then takeH3947 thee balancesH3976 to weighH4948, and divideH2505 the hairH7218. 2A thirdH7992 partH8432 shalt thou burnH1197 in the fireH217 in the midstH8432 of the cityH5892, when the daysH3117 of the siegeH4692 are fulfilledH4390; and thou shalt takeH3947 a thirdH7992 partH8432, and smiteH5221 with the swordH2719 roundH5439 aboutH5439 it; and a thirdH7992 partH8432 thou shalt scatterH2219 to the windH7307, and I will draw outH853 a swordH2719 afterH310 them. 3And thou shalt takeH3947 thereof a fewH4592 in numberH4557, and bind them in thy skirtsH3671. 4And of theseH1992 againH5750 shalt thou takeH3947, and castH7993 them intoH413 the midstH8432 of the fireH784, and burnH8313 them in the fireH784; therefrom shall a fireH784 comeH3318 forthH3318 intoH413 allH3605 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 5ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: This is JerusalemH3389: I have setH7760 herH5439 in the midstH8432 of the nationsH1471, and countriesH776 are roundH5439 aboutH5439 herH5439. 6And sheH834 hath rebelledH4784 againstH4480 my judgmentsH4941 in doing wickednessH7564 moreH4480 thanH4480 the nationsH1471, and againstH4480 my statutesH2708 moreH4480 thanH4480 the countriesH776 that are roundH5439 aboutH5439 herH5439: for they have rejectedH3988 my judgmentsH4941, and as for my statutesH2708, they have notH3808 walkedH1980 in them. 7Therefore thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: BecauseH4480 ye are turbulent moreH4480 thanH4480 the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 aboutH5439 youH834, and have notH3808 walkedH1980 in my statutesH2708, neitherH3808 have keptH6213 my judgmentsH4941, neitherH3808 have doneH6213 afterH4480 the ordinancesH4941 of the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 aboutH5439 youH834; 8therefore thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: BeholdH2005, I, evenH1571 I, am againstH5921 thee; and I will execute judgmentsH4941 in the midstH8432 of thee in the sightH5869 of the nationsH1471. 9And I will doH6213 in thee that whichH834 I have notH3808 doneH6213, and whereunto I will notH3808 doH6213 anyH3605 moreH5750 the like, becauseH3282 of allH3605 thine abominationsH8441. 10Therefore the fathersH1 shall eatH398 the sonsH1121 in the midstH8432 of thee, and the sonsH1121 shall eatH398 their fathersH1; and I will execute judgmentsH8201 in thee, and the wholeH3605 remnantH7611 of thee will I scatterH2219 unto allH3605 the windsH7307. 11Wherefore, as I liveH2416, saith the LordH136 GODH136, surelyH518, becauseH3282 thou hast defiledH2930 my sanctuaryH4720 with allH3605 thy detestableH8251 things, and with allH3605 thine abominationsH8441, therefore will I also diminish thee; neitherH3808 shall mine eyeH5869 spareH2550, and I also will have noH3808 pityH2347. 12A thirdH7992 partH8432 of thee shall dieH4191 with the pestilenceH1698, and with famineH7458 shall they be consumedH3615 in the midstH8432 of thee; and a thirdH7992 partH8432 shall fallH5307 by the swordH2719 roundH5439 aboutH5439 thee; and a thirdH7992 partH8432 I will scatterH2219 unto allH3605 the windsH7307, and will draw outH3605 a swordH2719 afterH310 them. 13ThusH639 shall mine angerH639 be accomplishedH3615, and I will satisfyH5117 my furyH2534 upon them, and I will be comfortedH5162: and they shall knowH3045 that I the LORDH3068 have spokenH1696 in my zealH7068, when I have accomplishedH3615 my furyH2534 upon them. 14Moreover I will makeH5414 thee a desolationH2723 and a reproachH2781, among the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 aboutH5439 thee, in the sightH5869 of allH3605 that passH5674 by. 15SoH6213 it shall be a reproachH2781 and a taunt, an instructionH4148 and an astonishment, unto the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 aboutH1961 thee, when I shall execute judgmentsH8201 in thee in angerH639 and in furyH2534, and in furious rebukesH8433: I the LORDH3068 have spokenH1696 it: 16when I shall sendH7971 uponH5921 them the evilH7451 arrowsH2671 of famineH7458, that are for destructionH7843, whichH834 I will sendH7971 to destroyH7843 youH834; and I will increaseH3254 the famineH7458 uponH5921 youH834, and will breakH7665 your staffH4294 of breadH3899; 17and I will sendH7971 uponH5921 youH7971 famineH7458 and evilH7451 beastsH2416, and they shall bereaveH7921 thee; and pestilenceH1698 and bloodH1818 shall passH5674 throughH5674 thee; and I will bringH935 the swordH2719 uponH5921 thee: I the LORDH3068 have spokenH1696 it.
