Ezekiel 3
Revised Version 1895
1And he saidH559 unto meH413, SonH1121 of manH120, eatH398 that thou findest; eatH398 this roll, and go, speakH1696 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 2SoH6310 I openedH6605 my mouthH6310, and he caused meH398 to eatH398 the roll. 3And he saidH559 unto meH413, SonH1121 of manH120, causeH5414 thy bellyH990 to eatH398, and fillH4390 thy bowelsH4578 with this roll that I giveH5414 thee. Then didH834 I eatH398 it; and it was in my mouthH6310 as honeyH1706 for sweetness. 4And he saidH559 unto meH413, SonH1121 of manH120, goH935, getH935 thee unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, and speakH1696 with my wordsH1697 unto them. 5For thou art notH3808 sentH7971 to a peopleH5971 of a strange speechH8193 and of an hardH1004 languageH3956, but to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478; 6notH3808 to manyH7227 peoplesH5971 of a strange speechH8193 and of an hardH3515 languageH3956, whoseH834 wordsH1697 thou canst notH3808 understandH8085. SurelyH518, ifH518 I sentH7971 thee to them, they would hearken unto thee. 7But the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 will notH3808 hearken unto thee; for they will notH3808 hearken unto meH413: for allH3605 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 are of an hardH7186 foreheadH4696 and of a stiff heartH3820. 8BeholdH2009, I have madeH5414 thy faceH6440 hardH2389 againstH6440 their facesH6440, and thy foreheadH4696 hardH2389 againstH6440 their foreheadsH4696. 9As an adamantH2389 harderH2389 thanH3808 flintH6864 have I madeH5414 thy foreheadH4696: fearH3372 them notH3808, neitherH3808 be dismayedH2865 at their looks, thoughH3588 they be a rebelliousH4805 houseH1004. 10MoreoverH1696 he saidH559 unto meH413, SonH1121 of manH120, allH3605 my wordsH1697 that I shalt speakH1696 unto thee receiveH3947 in thine heartH3824, and hearH8085 with thine earsH241. 11And goH935, getH935 thee to them of the captivity, unto the childrenH1121 of thy peopleH5971, and speakH1696 unto them, and tellH559 them, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136; whetherH518 they will hearH8085, or whetherH518 they will forbear. 12Then the spiritH7307 liftedH5375 meH6963 upH5375, and I heardH8085 behindH310 meH6963 the voiceH6963 of a greatH1419 rushing, sayingH6963, BlessedH1288 be the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 from his placeH4725. 13And I heardH6963 the noiseH6963 of the wingsH3671 of the livingH2416 creatures as they touched one anotherH269, and the noiseH6963 of the wheelsH212 besideH5980 them, even the noiseH6963 of a greatH1419 rushing. 14SoH3947 the spiritH7307 liftedH5375 meH5921 upH5375, and tookH3947 meH5921 awayH5375: and I wentH5375 in bitternessH4751, in the heatH2534 of my spiritH7307, and the handH3027 of the LORDH3068 was strongH2388 uponH5921 meH5921. 15Then I cameH935 to them of the captivity at Tel-abibH8512, that dweltH3427 by the riverH5104 ChebarH3529, and to whereH834 they dweltH3427; and I satH3427 there astonied among them sevenH7651 daysH3117. 16And it cameH1961 to passH1961 at the endH7097 of sevenH7651 daysH3117, that the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 unto meH413, sayingH559, 17SonH1121 of manH120, I have madeH5414 thee a watchmanH6822 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478: therefore hearH8085 the wordH1697 at my mouthH6310, and giveH5414 them warning from meH5414. 18When I sayH559 unto the wickedH7563, Thou shalt surelyH4191 dieH4191; and thou givest him notH3808 warningH559, norH3808 speakest to warnH2094 the wickedH7563 from his wickedH7563 wayH1870, to save his lifeH4191; the sameH1931 wickedH7563 manH7563 shall dieH4191 in his iniquityH5771; but his bloodH1818 wilt I requireH1245 at thine handH3027. 19Yet ifH3588 thou warnH2094 the wickedH7563, and he turnH7725 notH3808 from his wickednessH7562, norH3808 from his wickedH7563 wayH1870, he shall dieH4191 in his iniquityH5771; but thou hast deliveredH5337 thy soulH5315. 20AgainH7725, when a righteousH6662 manH6662 doth turnH7725 from his righteousnessH6666, and commitH5414 iniquityH5766, and I layH5414 a stumblingblock beforeH6440 him, he shall dieH4191: becauseH3588 thou hast notH3808 givenH5414 him warning, he shall dieH4191 in his sinH2403, and his righteousH6662 deedsH6666 whichH834 he hath doneH6213 shall notH3808 be rememberedH2142; but his bloodH1818 will I requireH1245 at thine handH3027. 21NeverthelessH3588 ifH3588 thou warnH2094 the righteousH6662 manH6662, that the righteousH6662 sinH2398 notH3808, and he doth notH3808 sinH2398, he shall surelyH3588 liveH2421, becauseH3588 he tookH853 warning; and thou hast deliveredH5337 thy soulH5315. 22And the handH3027 of the LORDH3068 was there uponH5921 meH413; and he saidH559 unto meH413, AriseH6965, goH3318 forthH3318 intoH413 the plainH1237, and I will there talkH1696 with thee. 23Then I aroseH6965, and wentH3318 forthH3318 intoH413 the plainH1237: and, beholdH2009, the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 stoodH5975 there, as the gloryH3519 whichH834 I sawH7200 by the riverH5104 ChebarH3529: and I fellH5307 on my faceH6440. 24Then the spiritH7307 enteredH935 intoH413 meH413, and setH5975 meH413 uponH5921 my feetH7272; and he spake with meH413, and saidH559 unto meH413, GoH935, shutH5462 thyself withinH8432 thine houseH1004. 25But thou, sonH1121 of manH120, beholdH2009, they shall layH5414 bands uponH5921 thee, and shall bindH631 thee with them, and thou shalt notH3808 goH3318 outH3318 among them: 26and I will makeH3588 thy tongueH3956 cleave to the roofH2441 of thy mouthH2441, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt notH3808 be to them a reproverH3198: for they are a rebelliousH4805 houseH1004. 27But when I speakH1696 with thee, I will openH6605 thy mouthH6310, and thou shalt sayH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: He that heareth, letH2308 him hearH8085; and he that forbeareth, letH2308 him forbear: for they are a rebelliousH4805 houseH1004.
