Ezekiel 29
Revised Version 1895
1In the tenthH6224 yearH8141, in the tenthH6224 monthH2320, in the twelfth dayH2320 of the monthH2320, the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 unto meH413, sayingH559, 2SonH1121 of manH120, setH7760 thy faceH6440 againstH5921 PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, and prophesyH5012 againstH5921 him, and againstH5921 allH3605 EgyptH4714: 3speakH1696, and sayH559, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: BeholdH2005, I am againstH5921 thee, PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, the greatH1419 dragonH8577 that lieth in the midstH8432 of his riversH2975, whichH834 hath saidH559, My riverH2975 is mine own, and I have madeH6213 it for myselfH589. 4And I will putH5414 hooksH2397 in thy jawsH3895, and I will causeH5414 the fishH1710 of thy riversH2975 to stickH1692 unto thy scalesH7193; and I will bringH5927 thee upH5927 outH3605 of the midstH8432 of thy riversH2975, with allH3605 the fishH1710 of thy riversH2975 which stickH1692 unto thy scalesH7193. 5And I will leaveH5203 thee thrown intoH5921 the wildernessH4057, thee and allH3605 the fishH1710 of thy riversH2975: thou shalt fallH5307 uponH5921 the openH6440 fieldH7704; thou shalt notH3808 be broughtH622 togetherH622, norH3808 gatheredH622: I have givenH5414 thee for meat to the beastsH2416 of the earthH776 and to the fowls of the heavenH8064, 6And allH3605 the inhabitantsH3427 of EgyptH4714 shall knowH3045 that I am the LORDH3068, becauseH3588 they have been a staffH4938 of reedH7070 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 7When they tookH8610 holdH8610 of thee by thy handH3709, thou didst breakH7665, and didst rend allH3605 their shouldersH3802: and when they leanedH8172 uponH5921 thee, thou brakest, and madest allH3605 their loinsH4975 to be at a stand. 8Therefore thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: BeholdH2005, I will bringH935 a swordH2719 uponH5921 thee, and will cutH3772 offH3772 from thee manH120 and beastH929. 9And the landH776 of EgyptH4714 shall be a desolationH8077 and a wasteH2723; and they shall knowH3045 that I am the LORDH3068: becauseH3588 he hath saidH559, The riverH2975 is mine, and I have madeH6213 it. 10therefore beholdH2005, I am againstH413 thee, and againstH413 thy riversH2975, and will makeH5414 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 an utterH5414 wasteH2723 and desolationH8077, from the tower of Seveneh evenH5704 unto the borderH1366 of EthiopiaH3568. 11NoH3808 footH7272 of manH120 shall passH5674 throughH5674 it, norH3808 footH7272 of beastH929 shall passH5674 throughH5674 it, neitherH3808 shall it be inhabitedH3427 fortyH705 yearsH8141. 12And I will makeH5414 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 a desolationH8077 in the midstH8432 of the countriesH776 that are desolateH8074, and herH5414 citiesH5892 among the citiesH5892 that are laidH5414 wasteH8074 shall be a desolationH8077 fortyH705 yearsH8141: and I will scatterH2219 the EgyptiansH4714 among the nationsH1471, and will disperseH2219 them throughH8432 the countriesH776. 13For thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: At the endH7093 of fortyH705 yearsH8141 will I gatherH6908 the EgyptiansH4714 from the peoplesH5971 whither they were scatteredH6327: 14and I will bringH7725 againH7725 the captivityH7622 of EgyptH4714, and will causeH7725 them to returnH7725 intoH5921 the landH776 of PathrosH6624, intoH5921 the landH776 of their birth; and they shall be there a base kingdomH4467. 15It shall be the basest of the kingdomsH4467; neitherH3808 shall it anyH4480 moreH4480 liftH5375 itself upH5375 aboveH5921 the nationsH1471: and I will diminishH4591 them, that they shall noH3808 moreH4480 ruleH7287 over the nationsH1471. 16And it shall be noH3808 moreH5750 the confidenceH4009 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, bringingH2142 iniquityH5771 to remembranceH2142, when they turnH6437 to lookH6437 afterH310 them: and they shall knowH3045 that I am the LordH136 GODH136. 17And it cameH1961 to passH1961 in the sevenH7651 and twentiethH6242 yearH8141, in the firstH7223 monthH2320, in the firstH7223 dayH2320 of the monthH2320, the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 unto meH413, sayingH559, 18SonH1121 of manH120, NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 causedH1961 his armyH2428 to serveH5647 a greatH1419 serviceH5656 againstH5921 TyreH6865: everyH3605 headH7218 was madeH1961 baldH7139, and everyH3605 shoulderH3802 was peeled: yet had he noH3808 wagesH7939, norH3808 his armyH2428, from TyreH6865, for the serviceH5656 that he had servedH5647 againstH5921 it: 19Therefore thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: BeholdH2005, I will giveH5414 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 unto NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894; and he shall carryH5375 offH5375 herH5414 multitudeH1995, and takeH5375 herH5414 spoilH7998, and takeH5375 herH5414 preyH957; and it shall be the wagesH7939 for his armyH2426. 20I have givenH5414 him the landH776 of EgyptH4714 as his recompence for whichH834 he servedH5647, becauseH834 they wrought for meH5414, saith the LordH136 GODH136. 21In that dayH3117 will I causeH5414 an hornH7161 to bud forthH6779 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, and I will giveH5414 thee the openingH6310 of the mouthH6310 in the midstH8432 of them; and they shall knowH3045 that I am the LORDH3068.
