Judgment of Egypt

1In the 1tenthH6224 yearH8141, in the tenthH6224 month, on the twelfthH8147H6240 of the monthH2320, the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to me sayingH559, 2“SonH1121 of manH120, setH7760 your faceH6440 againstH5921 2PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 and prophesyH5012 againstH5921 him and againstH5921 allH3605 3EgyptH4714. 3SpeakH1696 and sayH559, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 4GodH3068, “BeholdH2009, I am againstH5921 you, PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, The greatH1419 56monsterH8577 that liesH7257 in the midstH8432 of his 7riversH2975, That 8has saidH559, ‘My NileH2975 is mine, and I myselfH589 have madeH6213 it.’4I will putH5414 9hooksH2397 in your jawsH3895 And make the fishH1710 of your 10riversH2975 clingH1692 to your scalesH7193. And I will bringH5927 you up out of the midstH8432 of your 11riversH2975, And allH3605 the fishH1710 of your 12riversH2975 will clingH1692 to your scalesH7193.5I will 13abandonH5203 you to the wildernessH4057, you and allH3605 the fishH1710 of your 14riversH2975; You will fallH5307 on the 15openH6440 fieldH7704; you will not be broughtH622 togetherH622 or 1617gatheredH6908. I have givenH5414 you for 18foodH402 to the beastsH2421 of the earthH776 and to the birdsH5775 of the skyH8064.6Then allH3605 the inhabitantsH3427 of EgyptH4714 will knowH3045 that I am the LordH3068, BecauseH3282 they have beenH1961 only a 19staffH4938 made of reedH7070 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478.7When they tookH8610 holdH8610 of you with the handH3709, You 20brokeH7533 and toreH1234 allH3605 their 21handsH3802; And when they leanedH8172 on you, You brokeH7665 and made allH3605 their loinsH4975 22quakeH5975.”

8‘ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 GodH3068, “BeholdH2009, I will 23bringH935 upon you a swordH2719 and I will cutH3772 offH3772 from you manH120 and beastH929. 9The 24landH776 of EgyptH4714 will becomeH1961 a desolationH8077 and wasteH2723. Then they will knowH3045 that I am the LordH3068.

BecauseH3282 25you 26saidH559, ‘The NileH2975 is mine, and I have madeH6213 it,’ 10thereforeH3651, beholdH2009, I am 27againstH413 you and againstH413 your 28riversH2975, and I will makeH5414 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 an utterH2721 wasteH2721 and desolationH8077, from MigdolH4024 to SyeneH5482 and even to the borderH1366 of 29EthiopiaH3568. 11A man’sH120 footH7272 will 30not passH5674 through it, and the footH7272 of a beastH929 will not passH5674 through it, and it will not be inhabitedH3427 for fortyH705 yearsH8141. 12So I will makeH5414 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 a desolationH8077 in the 31midstH8432 of desolatedH8074 landsH776. And her citiesH5892, in the midstH8432 of citiesH5892 that are laidH2717 wasteH2717, will be desolateH8077 fortyH705 yearsH8141; and I will 32scatterH6327 the EgyptiansH4714 among the nationsH1471 and disperseH2219 them among the landsH776.”

13‘For thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 GodH3068, “At the endH7093 of fortyH705 yearsH8141 I will 33gatherH6908 the EgyptiansH4714 from the peoplesH5971 34among whomH834H8033 they were scatteredH6327. 14I will turnH7725 the fortunesH7622 of EgyptH4714 and makeH7725 them returnH7725 to the landH776 of 35PathrosH6624, to the landH776 of their originH4351, and thereH8033 they will be a lowlyH8217 kingdomH4467. 15It will be the 36lowestH8217 of the kingdomsH4467, and it will neverH3808 againH5750 liftH5375 itself up aboveH5921 the nationsH1471. And I will makeH4591 them so smallH4591 that they will not 37ruleH7287 overH5921 the nationsH1471. 16And it will neverH3808 againH5750 be the 38confidenceH4009 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, 3940bringingH2142 to mindH2142 the iniquityH5771 of their having turnedH6437 41to Egypt. Then they will knowH3045 that I am the LordH136 GodH3068.”’”

17Now in the 42twenty-seventhH6242H7651 yearH8141, in the firstH7223 month, on the firstH259 of the monthH2320, the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to me sayingH559, 18“SonH1121 of manH120, 43NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 made his armyH2428 laborH5656 44hardH1419 againstH413 TyreH6865; everyH3605 headH7218 was madeH7139 45baldH7139 and everyH3605 shoulderH3802 was rubbedH4803 bareH4803. But he and his armyH2428 hadH1961 noH3808 wagesH7939 from TyreH6865 for the laborH5656 that he had 46performedH5647 againstH5921 it.” 19ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 GodH3068, “BeholdH2009, I 47will giveH5414 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894. And he will carryH5375 offH5375 her 4849wealthH1995 and captureH7997 her spoilH7998 and seizeH962 her plunderH957; and it will be wagesH7939 for his armyH2428. 20I have givenH5414 him the landH776 of EgyptH4714 for his laborH6468 whichH834 he 5051performedH5647, becauseH834 they actedH6213 for Me,” declaresH5002 the LordH136 GodH3068.

21“On that dayH3117 I will make a 52hornH7161 sproutH6779 for the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, and I will 5354openH5414H6610 your mouthH6310 in their midstH8432. Then they will knowH3045 that I am the LordH3068.”
