Romans 14
American Standard Version
1But him that is weakG770 in faithG4102 receiveG4355 ye, yet not for decision of scruples. 2OneG3739 man hath faith to eatG2068 all thingsG3956: but he that is weakG770 eateth herbs. 3Let not him that eateth set at nought him that eateth not; and let not him that eateth not judgeG2919 him that eateth: for GodG2316 hath receivedG4355 him. 4Who art thou that judgest the servantG3610 of another? to his ownG2398 lordG2962 he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall beG1510 made to standG2476; for the LordG2962 hath power to make him standG2476. 5OneG1538 manG1538 esteemeth oneG1538 dayG2250 above another: another esteemeth every dayG2250 alike. Let each manG1538 be fullyG4135 assured in his ownG2398 mindG3563. 6He that regardeth the dayG2250, regardeth it unto the LordG2962: and he that eateth, eateth unto the LordG2962, for he giveth GodG2316 thanksG2168; and he that eateth not, unto the LordG2962 he eateth not, and giveth GodG2316 thanksG2168. 7For noneG3762 of us liveth to himself, and noneG3762 dieth to himself. 8For whether we liveG2198, we liveG2198 unto the LordG2962; or whether we dieG599, we dieG599 unto the LordG2962: whether we liveG2198 thereforeG3767, or dieG599, we areG1510 the Lord’s. 9For to this end ChristG5547 diedG599 and livedG2198 again, that he might be Lord of both the deadG3498 and the livingG2198. 10But thou, whyG5101 dost thou judgeG2919 thy brotherG80? or thou again, whyG5101 dost thou set at nought thy brotherG80? for we shall all standG3936 before the judgment-seat of GodG2316. 11For it is writtenG1125,
12So thenG3767 each oneG1538 of us shall giveG1325 accountG3056 of himself to GodG2316.
13Let us not thereforeG3767 judgeG2919 oneG240 another any moreG3123: but judgeG2919 ye this ratherG3123, that no manG3778 putG5087 a stumblingblock in his brother’sG80 way, or an occasion of falling. 14I know, and amG1510 persuadedG3982 in the LordG2962 JesusG2424, that nothing isG1510 uncleanG2839 of itself: save that to him who accounteth anythingG5100 to beG1510 uncleanG2839, to him it isG1510 uncleanG2839. 15For if because of meat thy brotherG80 is grievedG3076, thou walkest no longer in loveG26. DestroyG622 not with thy meat him for whom ChristG5547 diedG599. 16Let not thenG3767 your goodG18 be evil spoken of: 17for the kingdomG932 of GodG2316 isG1510 not eatingG1035 and drinkingG4213, but righteousnessG1343 and peaceG1515 and joyG5479 in the HolyG40 SpiritG4151. 18For he that herein serveth ChristG5547 is well-pleasingG2101 to GodG2316, and approved of menG444. 19So then let us follow after things which make for peaceG1515, and things whereby we may edify oneG240 another. 20Overthrow not for meat’s sakeG1223 the workG2041 of GodG2316. All thingsG3956 indeed are cleanG2513; howbeit it is evilG2556 for that manG444 who eateth with offence. 21It is goodG2570 not to eatG2068 flesh, nor to drinkG4095 wineG3631, nor to do anything whereby thy brotherG80 stumbleth. 22The faithG4102 which thou hast, have thou to thyself before GodG2316. Happy is he that judgeth not himself in that which he approveth. 23But he that doubteth isG1510 condemnedG2632 if he eatG2068, because he eateth not of faithG4102; and whatsoever isG1510 not of faithG4102 isG1510 sinG266.
