Matthew 8:18-34
18NowG1161 when JesusG2424 sawG3708 a crowdG3793 aroundG4012 Him, 1He gaveG2753 ordersG2753 to departG565 to the otherG4008 sideG4008 of the sea. 192ThenG2532 a scribeG1122 cameG4334 and saidG3004 to Him, “TeacherG1320, I will followG190 You whereverG3699G1437 You goG565.” 20JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, “The foxesG258 haveG2192 holesG5454 and the birdsG4071 of the 3airG3772 have 4nestsG2682, but 5the SonG5207 of ManG444 hasG2192 nowhereG3756G4226 to layG2827 His headG2776.” 21AnotherG2087 of the disciplesG3101 saidG3004 to Him, “LordG2962, permitG2010 me firstG4413 to goG565 and buryG2290 my fatherG3962.” 22But JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, “6FollowG190 Me, and allowG863 the deadG3498 to buryG2290 their ownG1438 deadG3498.”
237When He gotG1684 into the boatG4143, His disciplesG3101 followedG190 Him. 24And beholdG2400, there aroseG1096 8a greatG3173 stormG4578 on the seaG2281, soG5620 that the boatG4143 was beingG2572 coveredG2572 with the wavesG2949; but Jesus HimselfG846 was asleepG2518. 25And they cameG4334 to Him and wokeG1453 Him, sayingG3004, “9SaveG4982 us, LordG2962; we are perishingG622!” 26He saidG3004 to them, “WhyG5101 are you 10afraidG1169, 11you menG3640 of littleG3640 faithG3640?” ThenG5119 He gotG1453 up and rebukedG2008 the windsG417 and the seaG2281, and 12it becameG1096 perfectlyG3173 calmG1055. 27The menG444 were amazedG2296, and saidG3004, “WhatG4217 kindG4217 of a manG444 is thisG3778, that evenG2532 the windsG417 and the seaG2281 obeyG5219 Him?”
2813When He cameG2064 to the otherG4008 sideG4008 into the countryG5561 of the GadarenesG1046, twoG1417 men who were 14demon-possessedG1139 metG5221 Him as they were comingG1831 out of the tombsG3419. They were so extremelyG3029 violentG5467 that noG3361 oneG5100 couldG2480 passG3928 by that wayG3598. 29And they criedG2896 out, sayingG3004, “1516WhatG5101 business do we have with each other, SonG5207 of GodG2316? Have You comeG2064 hereG5602 to tormentG928 us beforeG4253 17the timeG2540?” 30NowG1161 there was a herdG34 of manyG4183 swineG5519 feedingG1006 at a distanceG3112 from them. 31The demonsG1142 began to entreatG3870 Him, sayingG3004, “IfG1487 You are going to castG1544 us out, sendG649 us into the herdG34 of swineG5519.” 32And He saidG3004 to them, “GoG5217!” And they cameG1831 out and wentG565 into the swineG5519, and the wholeG3956 herdG34 rushedG3729 downG2596 the steepG2911 bankG2911 into the seaG2281 and perishedG599 in the watersG5204. 33The herdsmenG1006 ranG5343 awayG5343, and wentG565 to the cityG4172 and reportedG518 everythingG3956, 18includingG2532 whatG3588 hadG3588 happenedG3588 to the 19demoniacsG1139. 34And beholdG2400, the wholeG3956 cityG4172 cameG1831 out to meetG5222 JesusG2424; and when they sawG3708 Him, 20they imploredG3870 Him to leaveG3327 their regionG3725.
