Matthew 26:1-13
11WhenG3753 JesusG2424 had finishedG5055 allG3956 theseG3778 wordsG3056, He saidG3004 to His disciplesG3101, 2“2You knowG3609 that afterG3326 twoG1417 daysG2250 3the PassoverG3957 is comingG1096, and the SonG5207 of ManG444 is to be 4handedG3860 over for crucifixionG4717.”
35ThenG5119 the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the eldersG4245 of the peopleG2992 were gatheredG4863 togetherG4863 in 6the courtG833 of the highG749 priestG749, namedG3004 7CaiaphasG2533; 4and they 8plottedG4823 togetherG4823 to seizeG2902 JesusG2424 by stealthG1388 and killG615 Him. 5But they were sayingG3004, “Not duringG1722 the festivalG1859, 9otherwiseG2443G3361 a riotG2351 might occurG1096 amongG1722 the peopleG2992.”
610NowG1161 when JesusG2424 was in 11BethanyG963, at the homeG3614 of SimonG4613 the leperG3015, 712a womanG1135 cameG4334 to Him with an alabasterG211 vialG211 of veryG927 costlyG927 perfumeG3464, and she pouredG2708 it on His headG2776 as He reclinedG345 at the table. 8But the disciplesG3101 were indignantG23 when they sawG3708 this, and saidG3004, “WhyG1519G5101 thisG3778 wasteG684? 9For thisG3778 perfume mightG1410 have been soldG4097 for a highG4183 priceG4183 and the money givenG1325 to the poorG4434.” 10But JesusG2424, awareG1097 of this, saidG3004 to them, “WhyG5101 do you botherG2873G3930 the womanG1135? For she has doneG2038 a goodG2570 deedG2041 to Me. 11For you alwaysG3842 haveG2192 13the poorG4434 with you; but you do not alwaysG3842 haveG2192 Me. 12For when she pouredG906 thisG3778 perfumeG3464 on My bodyG4983, she didG4160 it 14to prepareG1779 Me for burialG1779. 13TrulyG281 I sayG3004 to you, 15whereverG3699G1437 thisG3778 gospelG2098 is preachedG2784 in the wholeG3650 worldG2889, whatG3739 thisG3778 womanG3778 has doneG4160 will alsoG2532 be spokenG2980 of in memoryG3422 of her.”
