Mark 9:30-50
301From thereG2547 they wentG1831 out and began to goG3899 throughG1223 GalileeG1056, and He did not wantG2309 anyoneG5100 to knowG1097 about it. 31For He was teachingG1321 His disciplesG3101 and tellingG3004 them, “2The SonG5207 of ManG444 is to be 3deliveredG3860 into the handsG5495 of menG444, and they will killG615 Him; and when He has been killedG615, He will riseG450 threeG5140 daysG2250 laterG3326.” 32But 4they 5did not understandG50 this statementG4487, and they were afraidG5399 to askG1905 Him.
336They cameG2064 to CapernaumG2746; and when He 7was in 8the houseG3614, He began to questionG1905 them, “WhatG5101 were you discussingG1260 on the wayG3598?” 34But they keptG4623 silentG4623, for on the wayG3598 9they had discussedG1256 with oneG240 anotherG240 whichG5101 of them was the greatestG3173. 35SittingG2523 downG2523, He calledG5455 the twelveG1427 and saidG3004 to them, “10IfG1487 anyoneG5100 wantsG2309 to be firstG4413, 11he shall be lastG2078 of allG3956 and servantG1249 of allG3956.” 36TakingG2983 a childG3813, He setG2476 him 12beforeG1722G3319 them, and takingG1723 him in His armsG1723, He saidG3004 to them, 37“13WhoeverG3739G302 receivesG1209 14oneG1520 childG3813 likeG5108 thisG5108 in My nameG3686 receivesG1209 Me; and whoeverG3739G302 receivesG1209 Me does not receiveG1209 Me, but Him who sentG649 Me.”
3815JohnG2491 saidG5346 to Him, “TeacherG1320, we sawG3708 someoneG5100 castingG1544 out demonsG1140 in Your nameG3686, and 16we tried to preventG2967 him becauseG3754 he was not followingG190 us.” 39But JesusG2424 saidG3004, “Do not hinderG2967 him, for there is noG3762 oneG3762 whoG3739 will performG4160 a miracleG1411 in My nameG3686, and be ableG1410 soonG5035 afterwardG5035 to speakG2551 evilG2551 of Me. 4017For he whoG3739 is not againstG2596 us is 18for us. 41For 19whoeverG3739G302 givesG4222 you a cupG4221 of waterG5204 to drinkG4222 20becauseG3754 of your nameG3686 as followers of ChristG5547, trulyG281 I sayG3004 to you, he will not loseG622 his rewardG3408.
42“21WhoeverG3739 causesG4624 oneG1520 of theseG3778 22littleG3398 onesG3398 who believeG4100 to stumbleG4624, it 23would be betterG2570G3123 for him ifG1487, with a heavyG3684 millstoneG3458 hungG4029 aroundG4012 his neckG5137, he 24had been castG906 into the seaG2281. 4325IfG1437 your handG5495 causesG4624 you to stumbleG4624, cutG609 it offG609; it is betterG2570 for you to enterG1525 lifeG2222 crippledG2948, thanG2228, havingG2192 your twoG1417 handsG5495, to goG565 into 2627hellG1067, into the 28unquenchableG762 fireG4442, 44[29whereG3699 their wormG4663 does not dieG5053, and the fireG4442 is not quenchedG4570.] 45IfG1437 your footG4228 causesG4624 you to stumbleG4624, cutG609 it offG609; it is betterG2570 for you to enterG1525 lifeG2222 lameG5560, thanG2228, havingG2192 your twoG1417 feetG4228, to be castG906 into 3031hellG1067, 46[32whereG3699 their wormG4663 does not dieG5053, and the fireG4442 is not quenchedG4570.] 4733IfG1437 your eyeG3788 causesG4624 you to stumbleG4624, throwG1544 it out; it is betterG2570 for you to enterG1525 the kingdomG932 of GodG2316 with oneG3442 eyeG3442, thanG2228, havingG2192 twoG1417 eyesG3788, to be castG1544 into 3435hellG1067, 4836whereG3699 their wormG4663 does not dieG5053, and 37the fireG4442 is not quenchedG4570.
49“For everyoneG3956 will be saltedG233 with fireG4442. 50SaltG217 is goodG2570; but 38ifG1437 the saltG217 becomesG1096 unsaltyG358, with whatG5101 will you 39makeG741 it saltyG741 again? 40HaveG2192 saltG217 in yourselvesG1438, and 41be at peaceG1514 with oneG240 anotherG240.”
