30From thereG2547they wentἐξελθόντεςexelthontesG1831out and beganto goπαρεπορεύοντοpareporeuontoG3899throughδιὰdiaG1223GalileeΓαλιλαίας,GalilaiasG1056,and He did not wantἤθελενēthelenG2309anyoneτιςtisG5100to knowγνοῖ·gnoiG1097about it.

31For He was teachingἐδίδασκενedidaskenG1321His disciplesμαθητὰςmathētasG3101and tellingἔλεγενelegenG3004them, “The SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444is to bedeliveredπαραδίδοταιparadidotaiG3860into the handsχεῖραςcheirasG5495of menἀνθρώπων,anthrōpōnG444,and they will killἀποκτενοῦσινapoktenousinG615Him; and when He has been killedἀποκτανθεὶςapoktantheisG615,He will riseἀναστήσεται.anastēsetaiG450threeτρεῖςtreisG5140daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250laterμετὰmetaG3326.”

32But theydid not understandἠγνόουνēgnoounG50thisstatementῥῆμαrhēmaG4487,and they were afraidἐφοβοῦντοephobountoG5399to askἐπερωτῆσαι.¶eperōtēsaiG1905Him.

33They cameἦλθονēlthonG2064to CapernaumG2746; and when He was inthe houseοἰκίᾳoikiaG3614, He beganto questionἐπηρώταepērōtaG1905them,“WhatτίtiG5101were you discussingδιελογίζεσθε;dielogizestheG1260on the wayὁδῷhodōG3598?”

34But they keptG4623silentἐσιώπων·esiōpōnG4623,for on the wayὁδῷhodōG3598they had discussedδιελέχθησανdielechthēsanG1256with oneἀλλήλουςallēlousG240anotherG240whichτίςtisG5101of them wasthe greatestμείζων.¶meizōnG3173.

35SittingG2523downκαθίσαςkathisasG2523,He calledἐφώνησενephōnēsenG5455the twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427and saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them, “IfεἴeiG1487anyoneτιςtisG5100wantsθέλειtheleiG2309to be firstπρῶτοςprōtosG4413,he shall be lastἔσχατοςeschatosG2078of allπάντωνpantōnG3956and servantδιάκονος.diakonosG1249of allπάντωνpantōnG3956.”

36TakingλαβὼνlabōnG2983a childπαιδίονpaidionG3813,He setἔστησενestēsenG2476himbeforeἐν μέσῳen mesōG1722 G3319them, and takingG1723him in His armsG1723,He saidG3004to them,

37“Whoeverὃς ἂνhos anG3739 G302receivesδέξηταιdexētaiG1209oneἓνhenG1520childπαιδίωνpaidiōnG3813likeG5108thisG5108in My nameὀνόματίonomatiG3686receivesδέχεται·dechetaiG1209Me; and whoeverὃς ἂνhos anG3739 G302receivesδέχηται,dechētaiG1209Me does not receiveδέχεταιdechetaiG1209Me, but Him who sentἀποστείλαντάaposteilantaG649Me.”

38JohnἸωάννης·IōannēsG2491saidἜφηEphēG5346to Him, “Teacherδιδάσκαλε,didaskaleG1320,we sawG3708someoneτιναtinaG5100castingἐκβάλλονταekballontaG1544out demonsδαιμόνιαdaimoniaG1140in Your nameὀνόματίonomatiG3686, andwe tried to preventἐκωλύομενekōluomenG2967him becauseὅτιhotiG3754he was not followingἠκολούθειēkoloutheiG190us.”

39But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004,“Do not hinderκωλύετεkōlueteG2967him, for there is noG3762oneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762whoὃςhosG3739will performποιήσειpoiēseiG4160a miracleδύναμινdunaminG1411in My nameὀνόματίonomatiG3686,and be ableδυνήσεταιdunēsetaiG1410soonG5035afterwardG5035to speakG2551evilκακολογῆσαίkakologēsaiG2551of Me.

40For he whoὃςhosG3739is not againstκαθ᾽kath᾽G2596us is for us.

41Forwhoeverὃς ἂνhos anG3739 G302givesποτίσῃpotisēG4222you a cupποτήριονpotērionG4221of waterὕδατοςhudatosG5204to drinkG4222becauseG3754of your nameὀνόματιonomatiG3686as followersof ChristΧριστοῦChristouG5547,trulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you, he will not loseἀπολέσῃapolesēG622his rewardμισθὸνmisthonG3408.
