John 9:16-41

16ThereforeG3767 someG5100 of the PhariseesG5330 were sayingG3004, “ThisG3778 manG444 is not from GodG2316, becauseG3754 He 1does not keepG5083 the SabbathG4521.” But othersG243 were sayingG3004, “HowG4459 canG1410 a manG444 who is a sinnerG268 performG2038 suchG5108 2 3signsG4592?” And 4there was a divisionG4978 amongG1722 them. 17SoG3767 they saidG3004 to the blindG5185 manG5185 5againG3825, “WhatG5101 do you sayG3004 aboutG4012 Him, sinceG3754 He openedG455 your eyesG3788?” And he saidG3004, “He is a 6prophetG4396.”

18 7The JewsG2453 thenG3767 did not believeG4100 it of him, that he had beenG1510 blindG5185 and had receivedG308 sightG308, untilG2193 they calledG5455 the parentsG1118 of the veryG846 oneG846 who had receivedG308 his sightG308, 19and questionedG2065 them, sayingG3004, “Is thisG3778 your sonG5207, whoG3739 you sayG3004 was bornG1080 blindG5185? ThenG3767 howG4459 does he nowG737 seeG991?” 20His parentsG1118 answeredG611 them and saidG3004, “We knowG3609 that thisG3778 is our sonG5207, and that he was bornG1080 blindG5185; 21but howG4459 he nowG3568 seesG991, we do not knowG3609; orG2228 whoG5101 openedG455 his eyesG3788, we do not knowG3609. AskG2065 him; he is of ageG2244, he will speakG2980 for himselfG1438.” 22His parentsG1118 saidG3004 thisG3778 becauseG3754 they 8were afraidG5399 of the JewsG2453; for the JewsG2453 9had alreadyG2235 agreedG4934 that ifG1437 anyoneG5100 confessedG3670 Him to be 10ChristG5547, 11he was to be putG656 out of the synagogueG656. 23For thisG3778 reasonG1223 his parentsG1118 saidG3004, “12He is of ageG2244; askG2065 him.”

24SoG3767 a secondG1208 timeG1208 they calledG5455 the manG444 whoG3739 had beenG1510 blindG5185, and saidG3004 to him, “13GiveG1325 gloryG1391 to GodG2316; we knowG3609 that 14thisG3778 manG444 is a sinnerG268.” 25He thenG3767 answeredG611, “WhetherG1487 He is a sinnerG268, I do not knowG3609; oneG1520 thingG1520 I do knowG3609, that though I was blindG5185, nowG737 I seeG991.” 26SoG3767 they saidG3004 to him, “WhatG5101 did He doG4160 to you? HowG4459 did He openG455 your eyesG3788?” 27He answeredG611 them, “15I toldG3004 you alreadyG2235 and you did not 16listenG191; whyG5101 do you wantG2309 to hearG191 it againG3825? You do not wantG2309 to becomeG1096 His disciplesG3101 tooG2532, do you?” 28They reviledG3058 him and saidG3004, “You are His discipleG3101, but 17we are disciplesG3101 of MosesG3475. 29We knowG3609 that GodG2316 has spokenG2980 to MosesG3475, but as for thisG3778 manG3778, 18we do not knowG3609 whereG4159 He is from.” 30The manG444 answeredG611 and saidG3004 to them, “WellG1063, hereG1722 G3778 is an amazingG2298 thingG2298, that you do not knowG3609 whereG4159 He is from, and yet He openedG455 my eyesG3788. 31We knowG3609 that 19GodG2316 does not hearG191 sinnersG268; but ifG1437 anyoneG5100 is God-fearingG2318 and doesG4160 His willG2307, He hearsG191 him. 32 20SinceG1537 the beginningG165 of timeG165 it has neverG3756 been heardG191 that anyoneG5100 openedG455 the eyesG3788 of a personG5185 bornG1080 blindG5185. 33 21IfG1487 thisG3778 manG3778 were not from GodG2316, He couldG1410 doG4160 nothingG3756 G3762.” 34They answeredG611 him, “22You were bornG1080 entirelyG3650 in sinsG266, and are you teachingG1321 us?” SoG2532 they 23putG1544 him out.

35JesusG2424 heardG191 that they had 24putG1544 him out, and findingG2147 him, He saidG3004, “Do you believeG4100 in the 25SonG5207 of ManG444?” 36He answeredG611, “26WhoG5101 is He, 27LordG2962, that I may believeG4100 in Him?” 37JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, “You have bothG2532 seenG3708 Him, and 28He is the one who is talkingG2980 with you.” 38And he saidG5346, “LordG2962, I believeG4100.” And he 29worshipedG4352 Him. 39And JesusG2424 saidG3004, “30For judgmentG2917 I cameG2064 into thisG3778 worldG2889, soG2443 that 31thoseG3588 who do not seeG991 may seeG991, and that 32thoseG3588 who seeG991 may becomeG1096 blindG5185.” 40ThoseG3588 of the PhariseesG5330 who were with Him heardG191 theseG3778 thingsG3778 and saidG3004 to Him, “33We are not blindG5185 tooG2532, are we?” 41JesusG2424 saidG3004 to them, “34IfG1487 you were blindG5185, you would haveG2192 noG3756 sinG266; but 35sinceG3568 you sayG3004, ‘36We seeG991,’ your sinG266 remainsG3306.
