Acts 13:26-38

“BrethrenG435G80, sonsG5207 of Abraham’sG11 familyG1085, and thoseG3588 amongG1722 you who fearG5399 GodG2316, to us the messageG3056 of 1thisG3778 salvationG4991 has been sentG1821.

For thoseG3588 who liveG2730 in JerusalemG2419, and their 2rulersG758, 3recognizingG50 neither Him norG2532 the 4utterancesG5456 of 5the prophetsG4396 which are 6readG314 everyG3956 SabbathG4521, fulfilledG4137 these by condemningG2919 Him.

And though they foundG2147 noG3367 groundG156 for putting Him to death, they 7askedG154 PilateG4091 that He be 8executedG337.

WhenG5613 they had 9carriedG5055 out allG3956 that was writtenG1125 concerningG4012 Him, 10they tookG2507 Him downG2507 from 11the 12crossG3586 and 13laidG5087 Him in a tombG3419.

But GodG2316 14raisedG1453 Him from the deadG3498;

and for manyG4183 daysG2250 15He appearedG3708 to thoseG3588 who cameG4872 up with Him from GalileeG1056 to JerusalemG2419, the very onesG3748 whoG3748 are nowG3568 16His witnessesG3144 to the peopleG2992.

And we 17preachG2097 to you the goodG2097 newsG2097 of 18the promiseG1860 madeG1096 to the fathersG3962,

that GodG2316 has fulfilledG1603 thisG3778 promise 19to our childrenG5043 in that He 20raisedG450 up JesusG2424, as it is alsoG2532 writtenG1125 in the secondG1208 PsalmG5568, ‘21You are My SonG5207; todayG4594 I have begottenG1080 You.’

As for the fact that He 22raisedG450 Him up from the deadG3498, noG3371 longerG3371 to returnG5290 to decayG1312, He has spokenG3004 in thisG3779 wayG3779: ‘23I will giveG1325 you the holyG3741 and 24sureG4103 blessings of DavidG1160.’

ThereforeG1360 He alsoG2532 saysG3004 in anotherG2087 Psalm, ‘25You will not 26allowG1325 Your 27HolyG3741 OneG3741 to 28undergoG3708 decayG1312.’

For 29DavidG1160, after he had 30servedG5256 31the purposeG1012 of GodG2316 in his ownG2398 generationG1074, 32fellG2837 asleepG2837, and was laidG4369 amongG4314 his fathersG3962 and 33underwentG3708 decayG1312;

but He whomG3739 GodG2316 34raisedG1453 did not 35undergoG3708 decayG1312.

ThereforeG3767 let it be knownG1110 to you, brethrenG435G80, that 36throughG1223 37Him forgivenessG859 of sinsG266 is proclaimedG2605 to you,
