Hebrews 7:1-19

For this Melchisedec, KingG935 of SalemG4532, priestG2409 of the mostG5310 highG5310 1GodG2316, who met AbrahamG11 returningG5290 from smiting the kingsG935, and blessedG2127 him;

to whom AbrahamG11 gave alsoG2532 the tenth portion of all; firstG4413 beingG1510 interpreted KingG935 of righteousnessG1343, and then alsoG2532 KingG935 of SalemG4532, which isG1510 KingG935 of peaceG1515;

without father, without mother, without genealogy; having neither beginning of daysG2250 nor endG5056 of lifeG2222, but assimilated to the SonG5207 of 2GodG2316, abidesG3306 a priestG2409 continually.

NowG1161 consider howG4080 great this [personage] was, to whom [evenG2532] the patriarchG3966 AbrahamG11 gaveG1325 a tenth out of the spoils.

And they indeed from among the sonsG5207 of LeviG3017, who receiveG2983 the priesthood, have commandmentG1785 to takeG2983 tithes from the peopleG2992 accordingG2596 to the lawG3551, that isG1510 from their brethren, though these areG1510 comeG1831 out of the loinsG3751 of AbrahamG11:

but he who has no genealogy from them has tithed AbrahamG11, and blessedG2127 him who had the promisesG1860.

But beyond all gainsaying, the inferior is blessedG2127 by the better.

And hereG5602 dyingG599 menG444 receiveG2983 tithes; but there [one] of whom the witnessG3140 is that he livesG2198;

and, so to speakG3004, through AbrahamG11, Levi alsoG2532, who receivedG2983 tithes, has been made to pay tithes.

For he wasG1510 yetG2089 in the loinsG3751 of his fatherG3962 whenG3753 Melchisedec met him.

If indeed then perfection wereG1510 by the Levitical priesthoodG2420, for the peopleG2992 had their law given to them in connexion with it, what needG5532 [wasG1510 there] stillG2089 that a differentG2087 priestG2409 should ariseG450 accordingG2596 to the orderG5010 of Melchisedec, and not beG1510 named after the orderG5010 of AaronG2?

For, the priesthoodG2420 being changed, there takes placeG1096 of necessityG318 a change of lawG3551 alsoG2532.

For he, of whom these thingsG3778 are saidG3004, belongs to a differentG2087 tribeG5443, of which no oneG3762 has [ever] been attached to the service of the altarG2379.

For it is clear that our LordG2962 has sprung out of Juda, as to which tribeG5443 MosesG3475 spake nothing as to priestsG2409.

And it isG1510 yet moreG2089 abundantly evident, since a differentG2087 priestG2409 arisesG450 accordingG2596 to the similitude of Melchisedec,

who has been constituted not accordingG2596 to lawG3551 of fleshly commandmentG1785, but accordingG2596 to powerG1411 of indissoluble lifeG2222.

For it is borne witnessG3140, Thou art a priestG2409 for ever accordingG2596 to the orderG5010 of Melchisedec.

For there is a setting aside of the commandmentG1785 goingG4254 before for its weaknessG772 and unprofitableness,

(for the lawG3551 perfectedG5048 nothing,) and the introduction of a better hopeG1680 by which we drawG1448 nigh to 3GodG2316.
