Hebrews 2
Darby Bible
1For this reason we should give heed moreG4056 abundantly to the thingsG3778 [we have] heardG191, lest in any way we should slip away. 2For if the wordG3056 which was spokenG2980 by angelsG32 was firm, and every transgressionG3847 and disobedienceG3876 receivedG2983 just retribution, 3howG4459 shall we escapeG1628 if we have been negligent of so greatG5082 salvationG4991, which, having had its commencement in being spokenG2980 [of] by the LordG2962, has been confirmedG950 to us by those who have heardG191; 41GodG2316 bearing, besides, witness with [them] to [it], both by signsG4592 and wondersG5059, and variousG4164 acts of powerG1411, and distributions of [the] HolyG40 SpiritG4151, accordingG2596 to his will? 5For he has not subjectedG5293 to angelsG32 the habitable worldG3625 which is to comeG3195, of which we speakG2980; 6but oneG5100 has testifiedG1263 somewhereG4225, sayingG3004, What isG1510 manG444, that thou rememberest him, or sonG5207 of manG444 that thou visitest him? 7Thou hast made him some littleG1024 inferior to the angelsG32; thou hast crownedG4737 him with gloryG1391 and honour, [and hast set him over the works of thy hands;] 8thou hast subjectedG5293 all thingsG3956 under his feetG4228. For in subjectingG5293 all thingsG3956 to him, he has leftG863 nothing unsubject to him. But nowG1161 we seeG3708 not yet all thingsG3956 subjectedG5293 to him, 9but we seeG991 JesusG2424, who [was] made some littleG1024 inferior to angelsG32 on accountG1223 of the suffering of deathG2288, crownedG4737 with gloryG1391 and honour; so that by the graceG5485 of 2GodG2316 he should tasteG1089 deathG2288 for every thing. 10For it became him, for whom [are] all thingsG3956, and by whom [are] all thingsG3956, in bringingG71 manyG4183 sonsG5207 to gloryG1391, to makeG5048 perfectG5048 the leader of their salvationG4991 through sufferings. 11For both he that sanctifiesG37 and those sanctifiedG37 [are] all of oneG1520; for which causeG156 he is not ashamedG1870 to callG2564 them brethren, 12sayingG3004, I will declare thy nameG3686 to my brethren; in [the] midstG3319 of [the] assemblyG1577 will I sing thy praises. 13And againG3825, I will trustG3982 in him. And againG3825, BeholdG2400, I and the childrenG3813 which 3GodG2316 has givenG1325 me. 14Since thereforeG3767 the childrenG3813 partakeG3348 of bloodG129 and fleshG4561, he alsoG2532, in like manner, took part in the sameG846, that through deathG2288 he might annul him who has the might of deathG2288, that isG1510, the devilG1228; 15and might set freeG525 all those who through fearG5401 of deathG2288 through the whole of their life wereG1510 subject to bondage. 16For he does not indeed take holdG1949 of angelsG32 [by the hand], but he takes holdG1949 of the seedG4690 of AbrahamG11. 17Wherefore it behoved him in all thingsG3956 to be made like to [his] brethren, that he might be a mercifulG1655 and faithfulG4103 highG749 priestG749 in thingsG3956 relating to 4GodG2316, to make propitiation for the sinsG266 of the peopleG2992; 18for, in that himself has sufferedG3958, being temptedG3985, he is ableG1410 to helpG997 those that are being temptedG3985.
