Hebrews 8
Darby Bible
1NowG1161 a summary of the thingsG5108 of which we are speakingG3004 [is], We have such a oneG3739 highG749 priestG749 who has satG2523 downG2523 on [the] rightG1188 handG1188 of the throneG2362 of the greatness in the heavensG3772; 2ministerG3011 of the holyG40 places and of the trueG228 tabernacleG4633, which the LordG2962 has pitched, [and] not manG444. 3For every highG749 priestG749 is constituted for the offering both of giftsG1435 and sacrificesG2378; whence it is needful that this oneG5100 alsoG2532 should have somethingG5100 which he may offerG4374. 4If thenG3767 indeedG3303 he wereG1510 upon earthG1093, he would not evenG3761 beG1510 a priestG2409, there beingG1510 those who offerG4374 the giftsG1435 accordingG2596 to the lawG3551, 5(who serveG3000 the representation and shadowG4639 of heavenlyG2032 thingsG3956, accordingG2596 as MosesG3475 was oracularly told [when] about to makeG4160 the tabernacleG4633; for SeeG3708, saith He, that thou makeG4160 all thingsG3956 accordingG2596 to the patternG5179 which has been shewn to thee in the mountainG3735.) 6But nowG1161 he has got a moreG1313 excellentG1313 ministryG3009, by so muchG3745 as he isG1510 mediatorG3316 of a better covenantG1242, which isG1510 established on the footing of better promisesG1860. 7For if that firstG4413 wasG1510 faultlessG273, placeG5117 had not beenG1510 soughtG2212 for a secondG1208. 8For finding faultG3201, he saysG3004 to them, BeholdG2400, daysG2250 comeG2064, saith the LordG2962, and I will consummate a newG2537 covenantG1242 as regards the houseG3624 of IsraelG2474, and as regards the houseG3624 of Juda; 9not accordingG2596 to the covenantG1242 which I madeG4160 to their fathersG3962 in [the] dayG2250 of my taking their handG5495 to lead them out of the landG1093 of EgyptG125; because they did not continueG1696 in my covenantG1242, and I did not regard them, saith [the] LordG2962. 10Because this [isG1510] the covenantG1242 that I will covenantG1242 to the houseG3624 of IsraelG2474 after those daysG2250, saith the LordG2962: GivingG1325 my lawsG3551 into their mindG1271, I will write them alsoG2532 upon their heartsG2588; and I will beG1510 to them for 1GodG2316, and they shall beG1510 to me for peopleG2992. 11And they shall not teachG1321 each his fellow-citizen, and each his brotherG80, sayingG3004, KnowG1097 the LordG2962; because all shall knowG1097 me in themselves, from [the] littleG3398 oneG1538 [among them] unto [the] greatG3173 among them. 12Because I will beG1510 merciful to their unrighteousnesses, and their sinsG266 and their lawlessnesses I will never rememberG3403 any moreG2089. 13In that he saysG3004 NewG2537, he has made the firstG4413 old; but that which grows old and aged [is] near disappearing.
