Ezekiel 24:6-24
ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: WoeH188 to the bloody cityH5892, to the potH5518 whose rustH2457 is therein, and whose rustH2457 is not goneH3318 out of it! BringH3318 it out pieceH5409 by pieceH5409; let no lotH1486 fallH5307 upon it:
for her bloodH1818 is in the midstH8432 of her; she setH7760 it upon the bare rockH5553; she pouredH8210 it not upon the groundH776, to coverH3680 it with dustH6083.
That it might cause fury to comeH5927 up to execute vengeanceH5359, I have setH5414 her bloodH1818 upon the bare rockH5553, that it should not be coveredH3680.
ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: WoeH188 to the bloody cityH5892! I alsoH1571 will makeH1431 the pileH4071 greatH1431.
Heap on the woodH6086, kindle the fireH784, boil thoroughly the fleshH1320, and spice it well, and let the bonesH6106 be burnedH2787.
Then setH5975 it emptyH7386 upon its coalsH1513, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burnH2787, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, [and] that its rustH2457 may be consumed.
She hath exhausted [her] labours, yet her greatH7227 rustH2457 goeth not forthH3318 out of her: let her rustH2457 be in the fireH784.
In thy filthiness is lewdness, for I have purged thee, and thou art not pureH2891. Thou shalt no more be purged from thy filthiness, till I have satisfied my fury upon thee.
I Jehovah have spokenH1696 [it]: it shall comeH935 to pass, and I will do it; I will not goH935 back, neither will I spare, nor will I repentH5162. According to thy waysH1870, and according to thy doings, shall they judgeH8199 thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.
And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559,
SonH1121 of manH120, behold, I takeH3947 awayH3947 from thee the desireH4261 of thine eyesH5869 with a stroke; yet thou shalt not mournH5594 nor weepH1058, neither shall thy tearsH1832 run down.
Sigh in silence, makeH7760 no mourningH60 for the deadH4191; bindH2280 thy turban upon thee, and putH4191 thy sandalsH5275 upon thy feetH7272, and coverH5844 not the beard, and eatH398 not the breadH3899 of menH376.
— And I spokeH1696 unto the peopleH5971 in the morningH1242; and at even my wifeH802 diedH4191. And I did in the morningH1242 as I was commandedH6680.
And the peopleH5971 saidH559 unto me, Wilt thou not tellH5046 us what these thingsH428 are to us, which thou doest?
And I saidH559 to them, The wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559,
SayH559 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I will profaneH2490 my sanctuaryH4720, the prideH1347 of your strengthH5797, the desireH5315 of your eyesH5869, and your soul's longing; and your sonsH1121 and your daughtersH1323 whom ye have leftH5800 behind shall fallH5307 by the swordH2719.
And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not coverH5844 the beard, neither eatH398 the breadH3899 of menH376;
and your turbansH6287 shall be upon your headsH7218, and your sandalsH5275 upon your feetH7272: ye shall not mournH5594 nor weepH1058; but ye shall wasteH4743 awayH4743 in your iniquitiesH5771 and moan oneH376 toward another.
Thus EzekielH3168 shall beH1961 unto you a signH4159; according to all that he hath done shall ye do: when it cometh, then ye shall knowH3045 that I [am] the LordH136 Jehovah.
