Ezekiel 24:15-27
15And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 16SonH1121 of manH120, behold, I takeH3947 awayH3947 from thee the desireH4261 of thine eyesH5869 with a stroke; yet thou shalt not mournH5594 nor weepH1058, neither shall thy tearsH1832 run down. 17Sigh in silence, makeH7760 no mourningH60 for the deadH4191; bindH2280 thy turban upon thee, and putH4191 thy sandalsH5275 upon thy feetH7272, and coverH5844 not the beard, and eatH398 not the breadH3899 of menH376. 18— And I spokeH1696 unto the peopleH5971 in the morningH1242; and at even my wifeH802 diedH4191. And I did in the morningH1242 as I was commandedH6680. 19And the peopleH5971 saidH559 unto me, Wilt thou not tellH5046 us what these thingsH428 are to us, which thou doest? 20And I saidH559 to them, The wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 21SayH559 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I will profaneH2490 my sanctuaryH4720, the prideH1347 of your strengthH5797, the desireH5315 of your eyesH5869, and your soul's longing; and your sonsH1121 and your daughtersH1323 whom ye have leftH5800 behind shall fallH5307 by the swordH2719. 22And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not coverH5844 the beard, neither eatH398 the breadH3899 of menH376; 23and your turbansH6287 shall be upon your headsH7218, and your sandalsH5275 upon your feetH7272: ye shall not mournH5594 nor weepH1058; but ye shall wasteH4743 awayH4743 in your iniquitiesH5771 and moan oneH376 toward another. 24Thus EzekielH3168 shall beH1961 unto you a signH4159; according to all that he hath done shall ye do: when it cometh, then ye shall knowH3045 that I [am] the LordH136 Jehovah. 25And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, shall it not be in the dayH3117 when I takeH3947 from them their strength, the joyH4885 of their gloryH8597, the desireH5315 of their eyesH5869, and that whereunto they lift up their soulH5315, their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323, 26that in that dayH3117 he that escapeth shall comeH935 unto thee, to cause [thine] earsH241 to hear [it]? 27In that dayH3117 shall thy mouthH6310 beH1961 openedH6605 to him that is escaped, and thou shalt speakH1696, and beH1961 no more dumb. So shalt thou beH1961 a signH4159 unto them; and they shall knowH3045 that I [am] Jehovah.
