Ezekiel 22
American Standard Version
1Moreover the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 2And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, wilt thou judgeH8199, wilt thou judgeH8199 the bloody cityH5892? then cause her to knowH3045 all her abominationsH8441. 3And thou shalt sayH559, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: A cityH5892 that sheddeth bloodH1818 in the midstH8432 of her, that her timeH6256 may comeH935, and that maketh idolsH1544 against herself to defileH2930 her! 4Thou art becomeH2930 guiltyH816 in thy bloodH1818 that thou hast shedH8210, and art defiledH2930 in thine idolsH1544 which thou hast madeH6213; and thou hast caused thy daysH3117 to drawH7126 near, and art comeH935 even unto thy yearsH8141: thereforeH3651 have I madeH6213 thee a reproachH2781 unto the nationsH1471, and a mocking to all the countries. 5Those that are near, and those that are farH7350 from thee, shall mock thee, thou infamous oneH4480 and full of tumult.
6Behold, the princesH5387 of IsraelH3478, every oneH376 according to his power, have beenH1961 in thee to shedH8210 bloodH1818. 7In thee have they set light by fatherH1 and motherH517; in the midstH8432 of thee have they dealt by oppressionH6233 with the sojournerH1616; in thee have they wronged the fatherlessH3490 and the widowH490. 8Thou hast despisedH959 my holyH6944 thingsH6944, and hast profanedH2490 my sabbathsH7676. 9Slanderous menH376 have beenH1961 in thee to shedH8210 bloodH1818; and in thee they have eatenH398 upon the mountainsH2022: in the midstH8432 of thee they have committed lewdness. 10In thee have they uncoveredH1540 their fathers’H1 nakednessH6172; in thee have they humbled her that was uncleanH2931 in her impurityH5079. 11And oneH376 hath committed abominationH8441 with his neighbor’sH7453 wifeH802; and another hath lewdly defiledH2930 his daughter-in-law; and another in thee hath humbled his sisterH269, his father’sH1 daughterH1323. 12In thee have they takenH3947 bribesH7810 to shedH8210 bloodH1818; thou hast takenH3947 interestH5392 and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighborsH7453 by oppressionH6233, and hast forgottenH7911 me, saith the LordH136 Jehovah.
13Behold, therefore, I have smitten my handH3709 at thy dishonest gainH1215 which thou hast madeH6213, and at thy bloodH1818 which hath beenH1961 in the midstH8432 of thee. 14Can thy heartH3820 endure, or can thy handsH3027 be strongH2388, in the daysH3117 that I shall deal with thee? I, Jehovah, have spokenH1696 it, and will do it. 15And I will scatterH2219 thee among the nationsH1471, and disperseH2219 thee through the countries; and I will consume thy filthiness out of thee. 16And thou shalt be profanedH2490 in thyself, in the sight of the nationsH1471; and thou shalt knowH3045 that I am Jehovah.
17And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 18SonH1121 of manH120, the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 is becomeH1961 dross unto me: all of them are brass and tinH913 and ironH1270 and leadH5777, in the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564; they are the dross of silverH3701. 19ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Because ye areH1961 all becomeH1961 dross, thereforeH3651, behold, I will gatherH6908 you into the midstH8432 of JerusalemH3389. 20As they gatherH6908 silverH3701 and brass and ironH1270 and leadH5777 and tinH913 into the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564, to blowH5301 the fireH784 upon it, to meltH5413 it; soH3651 will I gatherH6908 you in mine angerH639 and in my wrathH2534, and I will lay you there, and meltH5413 you. 21Yea, I will gatherH3664 you, and blowH5301 upon you with the fireH784 of my wrathH5678, and ye shall be meltedH5413 in the midstH8432 thereof. 22As silverH3701 is meltedH5413 in the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564, soH3651 shall ye be meltedH5413 in the midstH8432 thereof; and ye shall knowH3045 that I, Jehovah, have pouredH8210 out my wrathH2534 upon you.
23And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 24SonH1121 of manH120, sayH559 unto her, Thou art a landH776 that is not cleansedH2891, nor rained upon in the dayH3117 of indignationH2195. 25There is a conspiracyH7195 of her prophetsH5030 in the midstH8432 thereof, like a roaringH7580 lionH738 ravening the preyH2964: they have devouredH398 soulsH5315; they takeH3947 treasure and preciousH3366 thingsH3366; they have made her widowsH490 manyH7235 in the midstH8432 thereof. 26Her priestsH3548 have done violenceH2554 to my lawH8451, and have profanedH2490 my holyH6944 thingsH6944: they have madeH3045 no distinctionH914 between the holyH6944 and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889, and have hid their eyesH5869 from my sabbathsH7676, and I am profanedH2490 among them. 27Her princesH8269 in the midstH7130 thereof are like wolvesH2061 ravening the preyH2964, to shedH8210 bloodH1818, and to destroyH6 soulsH5315, that they may get dishonest gainH1215. 28And her prophetsH5030 have daubed for them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and diviningH7080 liesH3577 unto them, sayingH559, ThusH3541 saith the Lord Jehovah, when Jehovah hath not spokenH1696. 29The peopleH5971 of the landH776 have used oppressionH6233, and exercised robberyH1498; yea, they have vexed the poorH6041 and needyH34, and have oppressedH6231 the sojournerH1616 wrongfully. 30And I soughtH1245 for a manH376 among them, that should build up the wallH1447, and standH5975 in the gap before me for the landH776, that I should not destroyH7843 it; but I foundH4672 none. 31Therefore have I pouredH8210 out mine indignationH2195 upon them; I have consumed them with the fireH784 of my wrathH5678: their own wayH1870 have I brought upon their headsH7218, saith the LordH136 Jehovah.
