Deuteronomy 5:4-22
FaceH6440 to faceH6440 on the mountainH2022 from the midstH8432 of the fireH784 Jehovah spokeH1696 with you
(I stoodH5975 between Jehovah and you at that timeH6256, to declareH5046 to you the wordH1697 of Jehovah; for ye were afraidH3372 by reason of the fireH784, and wentH5927 not up to the mountainH2022), sayingH559,
I am Jehovah thy 1GodH430 who have broughtH3318 thee out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, out of the houseH1004 of bondage.
Thou shalt have no otherH312 2godsH430 before me.
Thou shalt not makeH6213 thyself any graven imageH6459, any formH8544 of what is in the heavensH8064 above, or what is in the earthH776 beneath, or what is in the watersH4325 under the earthH776:
thou shalt not bowH7812 down thyself to them, nor serveH5647 them; for I, Jehovah thy 3GodH430, am a jealousH7067 4GodH430, visitingH6485 the iniquityH5771 of the fathersH1 upon the sonsH1121, and upon the thirdH8029 and upon the fourthH7256 [generationH8029] of them that hateH8130 me,
and shewing mercy unto thousandsH505 of them that loveH157 me and keepH8104 my commandmentsH4687.
Thou shalt not idly utter the nameH8034 of Jehovah thy 5GodH430; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that idly uttereth his nameH8034.
KeepH8104 the sabbathH7676 dayH3117 to hallow it, as Jehovah thy 6GodH430 hath commandedH6680 thee.
SixH8337 daysH3117 shalt thou labour, and do all thy workH4399;
but the seventhH7637 dayH3117 is the sabbathH7676 of Jehovah thy 7GodH430: thou shalt not do any workH4399, thou, nor thy sonH1121, nor thy daughterH1323, nor thy bondman, nor thy handmaid, nor thine oxH7794, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattleH929, nor thy sojournerH1616 that is within thy gatesH8179; that thy bondman and thy handmaid may restH5117 as well as thou.
And thou shalt rememberH2142 that thou wast a bondman in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and that Jehovah thy 8GodH430 broughtH3318 thee out thence with a powerful handH3027 and with a stretched-outH5186 armH2220; thereforeH3651 Jehovah thy 9GodH430 hath commandedH6680 thee to observeH6213 the sabbathH7676 dayH3117.
Honour thy fatherH1 and thy motherH517, as Jehovah thy 10GodH430 hath commandedH6680 thee; that thy daysH3117 may be prolongedH748, and that it may be wellH3190 with thee in the landH127 which Jehovah thy 11GodH430 giveth thee.
Thou shalt not kill.
Neither shalt thou commitH5003 adulteryH5003.
Neither shalt thou stealH1589.
Neither shalt thou bear false witnessH5707 against thy neighbour.
Neither shalt thou desireH183 thy neighbour's wifeH802, neither shalt thou covetH2530 thy neighbour's houseH1004, his fieldH7704, nor his bondman, nor his handmaid, his oxH7794, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour's.
These wordsH1697 Jehovah spokeH1696 to all your congregation on the mountainH2022 from the midstH8432 of the fireH784, of the cloudH6051, and of the obscurity, with a greatH1419 voiceH6963, and he addedH3254 no more; and he wroteH3789 them on twoH8147 tables of stoneH68, and gaveH5414 them to me.
