Deuteronomy 3
1And we turnedH6437, and wentH3318 up the wayH1870 to BashanH1316; and OgH5747 the kingH4428 of BashanH1316 cameH3318 out against us, he and all his peopleH5971, for battleH4421 at EdreiH154. 2And Jehovah saidH559 to me, FearH3372 him not; for into thy handH3027 have I givenH5414 him, and all his peopleH5971, and his landH776; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto SihonH5511 the kingH4428 of the AmoritesH567, who dweltH3427 at HeshbonH2809. 3And Jehovah our 1GodH430 gaveH5414 into our handH3027 OgH5747 the kingH4428 of BashanH1316 alsoH1571, and all his peopleH5971; and we smote him until none was leftH7604 to him remainingH7604. 4And we tookH3947 all his citiesH5892 at that timeH6256: there wasH1961 not a townH7151 which we tookH3947 not from them, sixtyH8346 citiesH5892, the whole region of Argob, the kingdomH4467 of OgH5747 in BashanH1316. 5All these citiesH5892 were fortifiedH1219 with highH1364 wallsH2346, gates, and barsH1280; besides unwalled towns veryH3966 manyH7235. 6And we utterly destroyed them, as we had done to SihonH5511 the kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809, utterly destroying every cityH5892, men, womenH802 and littleH2945 onesH2945. 7But all the cattleH929 and the spoilH7998 of the citiesH5892 we tookH962 as bootyH7998 for ourselves. 8And we tookH3947 at that timeH6256 the landH776 out of the handH3027 of the twoH8147 kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH567, that were on this sideH5676 the JordanH3383, from the river ArnonH769 to mount HermonH2768 9(the SidoniansH6722 callH7121 HermonH2768 SirionH8303, and the AmoritesH567 callH7121 it SenirH8149): 10all the citiesH5892 of the plateau, and all GileadH1568, and all BashanH1316, as far as Salchah and EdreiH154, the citiesH5892 of the kingdomH4467 of OgH5747 in BashanH1316. 11For onlyH7535 OgH5747 the kingH4428 of BashanH1316 remainedH7604 of the residue of giants: behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of ironH1270; is it not in RabbahH7237 of the children of AmmonH5983? its lengthH753 was nineH8672 cubitsH520, and its breadthH7341 fourH702 cubitsH520, after the cubitH520 of a manH376. 12And this landH776 we tookH3423 in possessionH3423 at that timeH6256. From AroerH6177, which is by the riverH5158 ArnonH769, and the halfH2677 of mount GileadH1568, and its citiesH5892, I gaveH5414 to the Reubenites and to the Gadites; 13and the restH3499 of GileadH1568, and all BashanH1316, the kingdomH4467 of OgH5747, I gaveH5414 to halfH2677 the tribeH7626 of ManassehH4519. (The whole region of Argob, even all BashanH1316, is calledH7121 a landH776 of giants. 14JairH2971 the sonH1121 of ManassehH4519 tookH3947 the whole region of Argob as far as the borderH1366 of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and calledH7121 BashanH1316 after his own nameH8034, Havoth-Jair, to this dayH3117.) 15And I gaveH5414 GileadH1568 to Machir. 16And to the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gaveH5414 from GileadH1568 even to the river ArnonH769, the middleH8432 of the ravine and its borderH1366, as far as the river JabbokH2999, the borderH1366 of the children of AmmonH5983; 17the plainH6160 also, and the JordanH3383, and [its] borderH1366 from Chinnereth as far as the seaH3220 of the plainH6160, the saltH4417 seaH3220, under the slopes of PisgahH6449 eastward. 18And I commandedH6680 you at that timeH6256, sayingH559, Jehovah your 2GodH430 hath givenH5414 you this landH776 to takeH3423 possessionH3423 of it: ye shall passH5674 over armedH2502 before your brethren the children of IsraelH3478, all [who are] combatants. 19OnlyH7535 your wivesH802, and your littleH2945 onesH2945, and your cattle, — I knowH3045 that ye have muchH7227 cattle, — shall abide in your citiesH5892 which I have givenH5414 you, 20until Jehovah giveH5414 restH5117 to your brethren, as wellH1571 as to you, and they alsoH1571 takeH3423 possessionH3423 of the landH776 that Jehovah your 3GodH430 giveth them beyond the JordanH3383; then shall ye returnH7725, each manH376 to his possessionH3423, which I have givenH5414 you. 21And I commandedH6680 JoshuaH3091 at that timeH6256, sayingH559, Thine eyesH5869 have seenH7200 all that Jehovah your 4GodH430 hath done to these twoH8147 kingsH4428: soH3651 will Jehovah do to all the kingdomsH4467 to which thou shalt go. 22Ye shall not fearH3372 them; for Jehovah your 5GodH430, he will fightH3898 for you. 23And I besought Jehovah at that timeH6256, sayingH559, 24LordH136 Jehovah, thou hast begunH2490 to shew thy servantH5650 thy greatnessH1433, and thy powerful handH3027; for what 6GodH410 is in the heavensH8064 or in the earthH776 that can do like to thy worksH4639, and like to thy might? 25Let me go over, I pray thee, and seeH7200 the goodH2896 landH776 that is beyond the JordanH3383, that goodly mountainH2022, and LebanonH3844. 26But Jehovah was wroth with me on your account, and did not hearH8085 me; and Jehovah saidH559 to me, Let it suffice thee; speakH1696 no more unto me of this matterH1697! 27GoH5927 up to the topH7218 of PisgahH6449, and liftH5375 up thine eyesH5869 westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyesH5869; for thou shalt not goH5927 over this JordanH3383. 28But charge JoshuaH3091, and encourageH2388 him and strengthenH2388 him; for he shall go over before this peopleH5971, and he shall put them in possessionH5157 of the landH776 which thou shalt seeH7200. 29And we abode in the valleyH1516 oppositeH4136 to Beth-PeorH1047.
