Deuteronomy 6
Darby Bible
1And these are the commandmentsH4687, the statutesH2706, and the ordinancesH4941, which Jehovah your 1GodH430 commandedH6680 to teachH3925 you, that ye may do them in the landH776 whereunto ye passH5674 over to possessH3423 it, 2that thou mayest fearH3372 Jehovah thy 2GodH430, to keepH8104 all his statutesH2708 and his commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680 thee, thou, and thy sonH1121, and thy son's sonH1121, all the daysH3117 of thy life; and that thy daysH3117 may be prolongedH748. 3And thou shalt hearH8085, IsraelH3478, and takeH8104 heed to do [them]; that it may be wellH3190 with thee, and that ye may increaseH7235 greatly, as Jehovah the 3GodH430 of thy fathersH1 hath saidH1696 unto thee, in a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706. 4Hear, IsraelH3478: Jehovah our 4GodH430 is one Jehovah; 5and thou shalt loveH157 Jehovah thy 5GodH430 with all thy heartH3824, and with all thy soulH5315, and with all thy strength. 6And these wordsH1697, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, shall beH1961 in thy heartH3824; 7and thou shalt impress them on thy sonsH1121, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy houseH1004, and when thou goest on the wayH1870, and when thou liest downH7901, and when thou risest up. 8And thou shalt bindH7194 them for a signH226 on thy handH3027, and they shall beH1961 for frontlets between thine eyesH5869. 9And thou shalt writeH3789 them upon the posts of thy houseH1004, and upon thy gatesH8179. 10And it shall beH1961, when Jehovah thy 6GodH430 bringeth thee into the landH776 which he sworeH7650 unto thy fathersH1, to AbrahamH85, to IsaacH3327, and to JacobH3290, to giveH5414 thee: greatH1419 and goodH2896 citiesH5892 which thou buildedst not, 11and housesH1004 fullH4392 of everythingH3605 goodH2898 which thou filledst not, and wells digged which thou diggedst not, vineyardsH3754 and oliveyards which thou plantedst not, and thou shalt have eatenH398 and shalt be fullH4392; 12[then] beware lestH6435 thou forgetH7911 Jehovah who broughtH3318 thee forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, out of the houseH1004 of bondage. 13Thou shalt fearH3372 Jehovah thy 7GodH430, and serveH5647 him, and shalt swearH7650 by his nameH8034. 14Ye shall not go after otherH312 8godsH430, of the 9godsH430 of the peoplesH5971 that are roundH5439 about you; 15for Jehovah thy 10GodH430 is a jealousH7067 11GodH430 in thy midstH7130; lestH6435 the angerH639 of Jehovah thy 12GodH430 be kindled against thee, and he destroyH8045 thee from the faceH6440 of the earthH127. 16Ye shall not tempt Jehovah your 13GodH430, as ye tempted him in MassahH4532. 17Ye shall diligently keepH8104 the commandmentsH4687 of Jehovah your 14GodH430, and his testimonies, and his statutesH2706, which he hath commandedH6680 thee. 18And thou shalt do what is rightH3477 and goodH2896 in the sight of Jehovah, that it may be wellH3190 with thee, and that thou mayest enter in and possessH3423 the goodH2896 landH776 which Jehovah sworeH7650 unto thy fathersH1, 19thrusting out all thine enemiesH341 from before thee, as Jehovah hath spokenH1696. 20When thy sonH1121 shall askH7592 thee in timeH4279 to come, sayingH559, What are the testimonies, and the statutesH2706, and the ordinancesH4941, which Jehovah our 15GodH430 hath commandedH6680 you? 21then thou shalt sayH559 unto thy sonH1121, We wereH1961 Pharaoh's bondmen in EgyptH4714; and Jehovah broughtH3318 us out of EgyptH4714 with a powerful handH3027; 22and Jehovah shewed signsH226 and wondersH4159, greatH1419 and grievous, upon EgyptH4714, upon PharaohH6547, and upon all his householdH1004, before our eyesH5869; 23and he broughtH935 us out thence, that he might bringH935 us in, to giveH5414 us the landH776 which he sworeH7650 unto our fathersH1. 24And Jehovah commandedH6680 us to do all these statutesH2706, to fearH3372 Jehovah our 16GodH430, for our goodH2896 continually, that he might preserveH2421 us aliveH2421, as it is this dayH3117. 25And it shall beH1961 our righteousnessH6666 if we takeH8104 heedH8104 to do all these commandmentsH4687 before Jehovah our 17GodH430, as he hath commandedH6680 us.
