Deuteronomy 12

1These are the statutesH2706 and ordinancesH4941, which ye shall takeH3423 heedH8104 to do in the landH776, which Jehovah the 1GodH430 of thy fathersH1 is givingH5414 thee to possessH3423 it, all the daysH3117 that ye live upon the earthH776. 2Ye shall utterly destroyH6 all the placesH4725 wherein the nationsH1471 which ye shall dispossessH3423 have servedH5647 their 2godsH430, upon the highH7311 mountainsH2022, and upon the hillsH1389, and under every green treeH6086; 3and ye shall breakH7665 down their altarsH4196, and shatterH7665 their statues, and burnH8313 their Asherahs with fireH784; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their 3godsH430, and ye shall destroyH6 the namesH8034 of them out of that placeH4725. 4Ye shall not do soH3651 unto Jehovah your 4GodH430; 5but unto the placeH4725 which Jehovah your 5GodH430 will chooseH977 out of all your tribesH7626 to setH7760 his nameH8034 there, his habitation shall ye seekH1875, and thither thou shalt comeH935; 6and thither ye shall bringH935 your burnt-offerings and your sacrificesH2077, and your tithesH4643, and the heave-offering of your handH3027, and your vowsH5088, and your voluntary-offerings, and the firstlings of your kine and of your sheepH6629; 7and ye shall eatH398 there before Jehovah your 6GodH430, and ye shall rejoiceH8055, ye and your householdsH1004, in all the business of your handH3027, wherein Jehovah thy 7GodH430 hath blessedH1288 thee. 8Ye shall not do after all that we do hereH6311 this dayH3117, each oneH376 whatever is rightH3477 in his own eyesH5869. 9For ye are not as yet comeH935 to the restH4496 and to the inheritanceH5159 which Jehovah thy 8GodH430 giveth thee. 10But whenH834 ye have gone over the JordanH3383, and dwellH3427 in the landH776 which Jehovah your 9GodH430 causeth you to inheritH5157, and whenH834 he hath givenH5117 you restH5117 from all your enemiesH341 roundH5439 about, and ye dwellH3427 in safety, 11then there shall beH1961 a placeH4725 which Jehovah your 10GodH430 will chooseH977 to cause his nameH8034 to dwellH7931 there; thither shall ye bringH935 all that I commandH6680 you: your burnt-offerings, and your sacrificesH2077, your tithesH4643, and the heave-offering of your handH3027, and all your choice vowsH5088 which ye shall vowH5088 to Jehovah. 12And ye shall rejoiceH8055 before Jehovah your 11GodH430, ye, and your sonsH1121, and your daughtersH1323, and your bondmen, and your handmaids, and the LeviteH3881 that is within your gatesH8179; for he hath no portionH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with you. 13TakeH8104 heedH8104 to thyself that thou offerH5927 not thy burnt-offerings in every placeH4725 that thou seest; 14but in the placeH4725 which Jehovah will chooseH977 in oneH259 of thy tribesH7626, there thou shalt offerH5927 thy burnt-offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I commandH6680 thee. 15Nevertheless, according to all the desireH5315 of thy soulH5315 thou mayest slay and eatH398 fleshH1320 in all thy gatesH8179, according to the blessingH1293 of Jehovah thy 12GodH430 which he hath givenH5414 thee: the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889 may eatH398 thereof, as of the gazelle, and the hart. 16OnlyH7535, ye shall not eatH398 the bloodH1818; ye shall pourH8210 it upon the earthH776 as waterH4325. 17Thou mayest not eatH398 within thy gatesH8179 the titheH4643 of thy corn, or of thy newH8492 wineH8492, or of thine oilH3323, or the firstlings of thy kine or of thy sheepH6629, nor any of thy vowsH5088 which thou vowest, nor thy voluntary-offerings, nor the heave-offering of thy handH3027; 18but before Jehovah thy 13GodH430 shalt thou eatH398 them in the placeH4725 which Jehovah thy 14GodH430 will chooseH977, thou and thy sonH1121, and thy daughterH1323, and thy bondman, and thy handmaid, and the LeviteH3881 that is within thy gatesH8179; and thou shalt rejoiceH8055 before Jehovah thy 15GodH430 in all the business of thy handH3027. 19TakeH8104 heedH8104 to thyself that thou forsakeH5800 not the LeviteH3881 all the daysH3117 thou shalt be in thy landH127. 20When Jehovah thy 16GodH430 shall enlargeH7337 thy borderH1366, as he promised thee, and thou sayH559, I will eatH398 fleshH1320, because thy soulH5315 longeth to eatH398 fleshH1320, thou mayest eatH398 fleshH1320, according to all the desireH5315 of thy soulH5315. 21If the placeH4725 which Jehovah thy 17GodH430 will chooseH977 to setH7760 his nameH8034 there be too farH7368 from thee, then thou shalt slay of thy kine and of thy sheepH6629 which Jehovah hath givenH5414 thee, as I have commandedH6680 thee, and thou shalt eatH398 in thy gatesH8179 according to all the desireH5315 of thy soulH5315. 22Even as the gazelle and the hart is eatenH398, soH3651 thou shalt eatH398 them: the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889 alikeH3162 may eatH398 of them. 23OnlyH7535, be sure that thou eatH398 not the bloodH1818; for the bloodH1818 is the lifeH5315, and thou mayest not eatH398 the lifeH5315 with the fleshH1320; 24thou shalt not eatH398 it; thou shalt pourH8210 it upon the earthH776 as waterH4325: 25thou shalt not eatH398 it; that it may goH3190 wellH3190 with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do what is rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of Jehovah. 26But thy hallowed thingsH6944 which thou hast, and what thou hast vowedH5088, thou shalt takeH5375, and comeH935 to the placeH4725 which Jehovah will chooseH977; 27and thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, the fleshH1320 and the bloodH1818, upon the altarH4196 of Jehovah thy 18GodH430; and the bloodH1818 of thy sacrificesH2077 shall be pouredH8210 out upon the altarH4196 of Jehovah thy 19GodH430, and the fleshH1320 shalt thou eatH398. 28TakeH8104 heed to hearH8085 all these wordsH1697 which I commandH6680 thee, that it may be wellH3190 with thee, and with thy children after thee for everH5769, when thou doest what is goodH2896 and rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of Jehovah thy 20GodH430. 29When Jehovah thy 21GodH430 cutteth off from before thee the nationsH1471 whither thou goest, to takeH3423 possessionH3423 of them, and thou hast dispossessedH3423 them, and dwellest in their landH776, 30takeH8104 heedH8104 to thyself that thou be not ensnared [to follow] after them, after that they are destroyedH8045 from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their 22godsH430, sayingH559, HowH349 did these nationsH1471 serveH5647 their 23godsH430? even soH3651 will I do likewise. 31Thou shalt not do soH3651 to Jehovah thy 24GodH430; for every [thingH8441 that is] abominationH8441 to Jehovah, which he hateth, have they done unto their 25godsH430; for even their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323 have they burnedH8313 in the fireH784 to their 26godsH430. 32Everything that I command you, ye shall take heed to do it; thou shalt not add thereto, nor take from it.
