Deuteronomy 32

1GiveH238 earH238, ye heavensH8064, and I will speakH1696; And hearH8085, O earthH776, the wordsH561 of my mouthH6310! 2My doctrine shall dropH6201 as rainH4306, My speech flowH5140 down as dewH2919, As small rainH4306 upon the tender herb, And as showersH7241 on the grassH1877. 3For the nameH8034 of Jehovah will I proclaimH7121: AscribeH3051 greatnessH1433 unto our 1GodH430! 4[He is] the RockH6697, his workH6467 is perfectH8549, For all his waysH1870 are righteousness; A 2GodH410 of faithfulnessH530 without deceit, Just and rightH3477 is he. 5They have dealt corruptlyH7843 with him; Not his children's is their spot: — A crooked and perverted generationH1755! 6Do ye thus requite Jehovah, FoolishH5036 and unwise peopleH5971? Is not he thy fatherH1 that hath boughtH7069 thee? Hath he not madeH6213 thee and establishedH3559 thee? 7RememberH2142 the daysH3117 of oldH2205, ConsiderH995 the yearsH8141 of generationH1755 to generationH1755; AskH7592 thy fatherH1, and he will shew thee; Thine eldersH2205, and they will tellH5046 thee. 8When the Most High assigned to the nationsH1471 their inheritanceH5157, When he separatedH6504 the sonsH1121 of Adam, He setH5324 the bounds of the peoplesH5971 According to the numberH4557 of the children of IsraelH3478. 9For Jehovah's portionH2506 is his peopleH5971; JacobH3290 the lot of his inheritanceH5159. 10He foundH4672 him in a desert landH776, And in the waste, howling wildernessH4057; He compassed him about, he watched over him, He preserved him as the apple of his eyeH5869. 11As the eagleH5404 stirreth up its nestH7064, Hovereth over its youngH1469, Spreadeth out its wingsH3671, Taketh them, beareth them on its feathers, 12So Jehovah aloneH910 did leadH5148 him, And no strange 3godH410 [was] with him. 13He made him rideH7392 on the highH1116 placesH1116 of the earthH776, And he ateH398 the produce of the fieldH7704; And he made him suckH3243 honeyH1706 out of the cragH5553, And oilH8081 out of the flinty rockH6697; 14Cream of kine, and milkH2461 of sheepH6629, With the fatH2459 of lambsH3733, And ramsH352 of the breed of BashanH1316, and he-goats, With the fatH2459 of kidneysH3629 of wheatH2406; And thou didst drinkH8354 pure wine, the bloodH1818 of the grape. 15Then JeshurunH3484 grew fatH8080, and kicked — Thou art waxen fatH8080, Thou art grown thickH5666, And thou art covered with fatness; — He gave up 4GodH433 who madeH6213 him, And lightly esteemed the RockH6697 of his salvationH3444. 16They moved him to jealousy with strangeH2114 5gods, With abominationsH8441 did they provokeH3707 him to angerH3707. 17They sacrificedH2076 unto demonsH7700 who are not 6GodH430; To 7godsH430 whom they knewH3045 not, To newH2319 onesH7138, who cameH935 newly up, Whom your fathersH1 revered not. 18Of the RockH6697 that begot thee wast thou unmindful, And thou hast forgottenH7911 8GodH410 who broughtH3205 thee forthH3205. 19And Jehovah sawH7200 it, and despised them, Because of the provoking of his sonsH1121 and of his daughtersH1323. 20And he saidH559, I will hideH5641 my faceH6440 from them, I will seeH7200 what their endH319 shall be; For they are a perverseH8419 generationH1755, ChildrenH1121 in whom is no faithfulness. 21They have moved me to jealousy with that which is no 9GodH410; They have exasperated me with their vanitiesH1892; And I will move them to jealousy with that which is not a peopleH5971; With a foolishH5036 nationH1471 will I provokeH3707 them to angerH3707. 22For a fireH784 is kindled in mine angerH639, And it shall burnH3344 into the lowest SheolH7585, And shall consumeH398 the earthH776 and its produceH2981, And setH3857 fireH784 to the foundationsH4146 of the mountainsH2022. 23I will heap mischiefs upon them; Mine arrowsH2671 will I spend against them. 24They shall be consumed with hungerH7458, and devoured with burning heat, And with poisonous pestilence; And the teethH8127 of beasts will I sendH7971 against them, With the poison of what crawleth in the dustH6083. 25From without shall the swordH2719 bereaveH7921 them, and in the chambersH2315, terrorH367 — Both the youngH970 manH376 and the virginH1330, The suckling with the manH376 of grayH7872 hairsH7872. 26I would sayH559, I will scatter, I will make the remembranceH2143 of them to ceaseH7673 from among men, 27If I did not fear provocation from the enemyH341, LestH6435 their adversaries should misunderstand it, LestH6435 they should sayH559, Our handH3027 is highH7311, and Jehovah has not done all this. 28For they are a nationH1471 void of counselH6098, And understandingH8394 is not in them. 29Oh that they had been wiseH2449! they would have understoodH995 this, They would have considered their latterH319 endH319! 30HowH349 could oneH259 chase a thousandH505, And twoH8147 put tenH7233 thousandH505 to flight, Were it not that their RockH6697 had soldH4376 them, And Jehovah had deliveredH5462 them up? 31For their rockH6697 is not as our RockH6697: Let our enemiesH341 themselves be judges. 32For their vineH1612 is of the vineH1612 of SodomH5467, And of the fieldsH7709 of GomorrahH6017: Their grapes are grapes of poisonH7219, BitterH4846 are their clustersH811; 33Their wineH3196 is the poisonH7219 of dragons, And the cruelH393 venomH2534 of vipers. 34Is not this hidden with me, SealedH2856 up among my treasuresH214? 35VengeanceH5359 is mine, and recompense, For the timeH6256 when their footH7272 shall slipH4131. For the dayH3117 of their calamityH343 is at hand, And the things that shall come upon them make haste. 36For Jehovah will judgeH1777 his peopleH5971, And shall repentH5162 in favour of his servantsH5650; When he seeth that power is gone, And there is none shutH6113 up or leftH5800. 37And he shall sayH559, WhereH335 are their 10godsH430, Their rockH6697 in whom they trusted, 38Who ateH398 the fatH2459 of their sacrificesH2077, [And] drankH8354 the wineH3196 of their drink-offering? Let them riseH6965 up and helpH5826 you, That there may beH1961 a protection over you. 39SeeH7200 nowH6258 that I, I am HE, And there is no 11godH430 with me; I killH4191, and I make aliveH2421; I wound, and I healH7495, And there is none that delivereth out of my handH3027, 40For I liftH5375 up my handH3027 to the heavensH8064, and sayH559, I live for everH5769! 41If I have sharpenedH8150 my gleaming swordH2719, And my handH3027 take holdH270 of judgmentH4941, I will render vengeanceH5359 to mine adversaries, And will recompense them that hateH8130 me. 42Mine arrowsH2671 will I makeH7937 drunkH7937 with bloodH1818, And my swordH2719 shall devourH398 fleshH1320; [I will makeH7937 them drunkH7937] with the bloodH1818 of the slainH2491 and of the captivesH7633, With the headH7218 of the princes of the enemyH341. 43ShoutH7442 for joyH7442, ye nationsH1471, with his peopleH5971, For he avengeth the bloodH1818 of his servantsH5650, And rendereth vengeanceH5359 to his enemies, And maketh atonementH3722 for his landH127, for his peopleH5971. 44And MosesH4872 cameH935 and spokeH1696 all the wordsH1697 of this songH7892 in the earsH241 of the peopleH5971, he and HosheaH1954 the sonH1121 of NunH5126. 45And when MosesH4872 had endedH3615 speakingH1696 all these wordsH1697 to all IsraelH3478, 46he saidH559 unto them, SetH7760 your heartsH3824 unto all the wordsH1697 that I testify among you this dayH3117, which ye shall commandH6680 your children to takeH8104 heedH8104 to do, all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451. 47For it is no vain wordH1697 for you, but it is your life, and through this wordH1697 ye shall prolongH748 your daysH3117 on the landH127 whereunto ye passH5674 over the JordanH3383 to possessH3423 it. 48And Jehovah spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 that same dayH3117, sayingH559, 49GoH5927 up into this mountainH2022 AbarimH5682, mount NeboH5015, which is in the landH776 of MoabH4124, which is opposite JerichoH3405; and behold the landH776 of CanaanH3667, which I giveH5414 unto the children of IsraelH3478 for a possessionH272, 50and dieH4191 on the mountainH2022 whither thou goest up, and be gatheredH622 unto thy peoplesH5971, as AaronH175 thy brotherH251 diedH4191 on mount HorH2023, and was gatheredH622 unto his peoplesH5971; 51because ye trespassed against me among the children of IsraelH3478 at the watersH4325 of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wildernessH4057 of ZinH6790; because ye hallowed me not in the midstH8432 of the children of IsraelH3478. 52For thou shalt seeH7200 the landH776 before [thee]; but thou shalt not goH935 thither unto the landH776 which I giveH5414 the children of IsraelH3478.
