Acts 23:10-15
And a greatG4183 tumult having arisen, the chiliarch, fearingG5399 lestG3361 PaulG3972 should have been tornG1288 in pieces by them, commandedG2753 the troop to comeG1096 downG2597 and take him by force from the midstG3319 of them, and to bringG71 [him] into the fortress.
But the following nightG3571 the LordG2962 stood by him, and saidG3004, Be of good courageG2293; for as thou hast testifiedG3140 the things concerningG4012 me at JerusalemG2419, so thou must bearG3140 witnessG3140 at RomeG4516 alsoG2532.
And when it was dayG2250, the JewsG2453, having banded together, putG615 themselves under a curse, sayingG3004 that they would neither eatG2068 nor drinkG4095 till they should killG615 PaulG3972.
And they wereG1510 moreG4183 than fortyG5062 who had joined together in this oath;
and they went to the chiefG749 priestsG749 and eldersG4245, and saidG3004, We have cursed ourselves with a curse to tasteG1089 nothingG3367 until we killG615 PaulG3972.
NowG1161 thereforeG3767 do ye with the councilG4892 makeG1718 a representation to the chiliarch so that he may bringG2609 him downG2609 to you, as about to determine more precisely what concerns him, and we, before he draws near, areG1510 readyG2092 to kill him.
