Darby Bible
Chronicles 28:16-25
At that timeH6256 kingH4428 AhazH271 sentH7971 to the kingsH4428 of AssyriaH804 to helpH5826 him.
And againH5750 the EdomitesH130 cameH935 and smote JudahH3063, and carried away captivesH7628.
And the PhilistinesH6430 invaded the citiesH5892 of the lowland, and of the southH5045 of JudahH3063, and tookH3920 Beth-shemeshH1053, and Ajalon, and GederothH1450, and Socho and its dependent villages, and TimnahH8553 and its dependent villages, and Guimzo and its dependent villages; and they dweltH3427 there.
For Jehovah humbledH3665 JudahH3063 because of AhazH271 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, for he had made JudahH3063 lawless, and transgressed much against Jehovah.
And Tilgath-Pilneser kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 cameH935 to him, and troubled him, and did not support him.
For AhazH271 stripped the houseH1004 of Jehovah, and the houseH1004 of the kingH4428 and of the princesH8269, and gaveH5414 to the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804; but he was of no helpH5833 to him.
And in the timeH6256 of his trouble he transgressed yet more against Jehovah, this kingH4428 AhazH271.
And he sacrificedH2076 to the 1godsH430 of DamascusH1834, which had smitten him; and he saidH559, Since the 2godsH430 of the kingsH4428 of Syria helpH5826 them, I will sacrificeH2076 to them, that they may helpH5826 me. But they wereH1961 the ruin of him, and of all IsraelH3478.
And AhazH271 gatheredH622 the vesselsH3627 of the houseH1004 of 3GodH430, and cutH7112 in pieces the vesselsH3627 of the houseH1004 of 4GodH430, and closed the doorsH1817 of the houseH1004 of Jehovah, and he madeH6213 for himself altarsH4196 in every cornerH6438 of JerusalemH3389.
And in every several cityH5892 of JudahH3063 he madeH6213 highH1116 placesH1116 to burn incenseH6999 to otherH312 5godsH430, and provokedH3707 to angerH3707 Jehovah the 6GodH430 of his fathersH1.
