Darby Bible

1And the peopleH5971 of the landH776 tookH3947 JehoahazH3059 the sonH1121 of JosiahH2977, and made him kingH4427 in his father's stead, in JerusalemH3389. 2JehoahazH3099 was twenty-three yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 threeH7969 monthsH2320 in JerusalemH3389. 3And the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 put him down at JerusalemH3389, and imposed a fine upon the landH776 of a hundredH3967 talentsH3603 of silverH3701 and a talentH3603 of goldH2091. 4And the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 made EliakimH471 his brotherH251 kingH4428 over JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389, and changedH5437 his nameH8034 to JehoiakimH3079. And NechoH5224 tookH3947 JehoahazH3099 his brotherH251, and carried him to EgyptH4714. 5JehoiakimH3079 was twenty-five yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 eleven yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389; and he did evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah his 1GodH430. 6Against him cameH5927 up NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and boundH631 him with chains of brass to carry him to BabylonH894. 7And NebuchadnezzarH5019 carried [part] of the vesselsH3627 of the houseH1004 of Jehovah to BabylonH894, and putH5414 them in his temple at BabylonH894. 8And the restH3499 of the acts of JehoiakimH3079, and his abominationsH8441 which he did, and that which was foundH4672 in him, behold, they are writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063. And JehoiachinH3078 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead. 9JehoiachinH3078 was eighteen yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 threeH7969 monthsH2320 and tenH6235 daysH3117 in JerusalemH3389; and he did evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah. 10And at the turn of the yearH8141 kingH4428 NebuchadnezzarH5019 sentH7971 and had him broughtH935 to BabylonH894, with the preciousH2532 vesselsH3627 of the houseH1004 of Jehovah; and he made ZedekiahH6667 his brotherH251 kingH4428 over JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389. 11ZedekiahH6667 was twenty-one yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 eleven yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. 12And he did evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah his 2GodH430; he humbledH3665 not himself before the prophetH5030 JeremiahH3414 speaking from the mouthH6310 of Jehovah. 13And he alsoH1571 rebelledH4775 against kingH4428 NebuchadnezzarH5019, who had madeH553 him take oathH7650 by 3GodH430; and he stiffenedH7185 his neckH6203, and hardenedH7185 his heartH3824 from returningH7725 to Jehovah the 4GodH430 of IsraelH3478. 14All the chiefsH8269 of the priestsH3548 alsoH1571, and the peopleH5971, increasedH7235 their transgressions, according to all the abominationsH8441 of the nationsH1471; and they defiledH2930 the houseH1004 of Jehovah which he had hallowed in JerusalemH3389. 15And Jehovah the 5GodH430 of their fathersH1 sentH7971 to them by his messengersH4397, risingH7925 up earlyH7925 and sendingH7971; because he had compassionH2550 on his peopleH5971 and on his dwelling-place. 16But they mocked at the messengersH4397 of 6GodH430, and despisedH959 his wordsH1697, and scoffed at his prophetsH5030, until the fury of Jehovah rose against his peopleH5971, and there was no remedy. 17And he broughtH5927 up [against] them the kingH4428 of the Chaldees, and slewH2026 their youngH970 menH970 with the swordH2719 in the houseH1004 of their sanctuaryH4720, and sparedH2550 not youngH970 manH2205 nor maiden, oldH2205 manH2205 nor him of hoary head: he gaveH5414 [them] all into his handH3027. 18And all the vesselsH3627 of the houseH1004 of 7GodH430, greatH1419 and smallH6996, and the treasuresH214 of the houseH1004 of Jehovah, and the treasuresH214 of the kingH4428 and of his princesH8269, he broughtH935 all to BabylonH894. 19And they burnedH8313 the houseH1004 of 8GodH430, and brokeH5422 down the wallH2346 of JerusalemH3389, and burnedH8313 all the palaces thereof with fireH784, and all the preciousH4261 vesselsH3627 thereof were given up to destruction. 20And them that had escaped from the swordH2719 he carried away to BabylonH894; and they becameH1961 servantsH5650 to him and his sonsH1121, until the reignH4438 of the kingdomH4438 of PersiaH6539; 21to fulfil the wordH1697 of Jehovah by the mouthH6310 of JeremiahH3414, until the landH776 had enjoyed its sabbathsH7676. All the daysH3117 of its desolation it kept sabbathH7676, to fulfil seventyH7657 yearsH8141. 22And in the first yearH8141 of CyrusH3566 kingH4428 of PersiaH6539, that the wordH1697 of Jehovah by the mouthH6310 of JeremiahH3414 might be accomplished, Jehovah stirredH5782 up the spiritH7307 of CyrusH3566 kingH4428 of PersiaH6539, and he made a proclamationH6963 throughout his kingdomH4438, and alsoH1571 in writing, sayingH559, 23ThusH3541 saysH559 CyrusH3566 kingH4428 of PersiaH6539: All the kingdomsH4467 of the earthH776 has Jehovah the 9GodH430 of the heavensH8064 givenH5414 to me, and he has charged me to buildH1129 him a houseH1004 at JerusalemH3389, which is in JudahH3063. Whosoever there is among you of all his peopleH5971, Jehovah his 10GodH430 be with him, and let him goH5927 up.
