Darby Bible
1And kingH4428 DavidH1732 saidH559 to all the congregation, SolomonH8010 my sonH1121, the oneH259 whom 1GodH430 has chosenH977, is youngH5288 and tenderH7390, and the workH4399 is greatH1419; for this palace is not to be for manH120, but for Jehovah Elohim. 2And I have preparedH3559 according to all my powerH3581 for the houseH1004 of my 2GodH430 goldH2091 for [things of] goldH2091, and silverH3701 for [things of] silverH3701, and brass for [things of] brass, ironH1270 for [things of] ironH1270, and woodH6086 for [things of] woodH6086; onyxH7718 stonesH68, and [stonesH68] to be set, glistering stonesH68, and of divers colours, and all manner of preciousH3368 stonesH68, and white marble in abundanceH7230. 3And moreover, in my affection for the houseH1004 of my 3GodH430 I have givenH5414 of my own property of goldH2091 and silverH3701, for the houseH1004 of my 4GodH430, over and above all that I have preparedH3559 for the houseH1004 of the sanctuaryH6944: 4threeH7969 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of goldH2091, of the goldH2091 of OphirH211, and sevenH7651 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of refinedH2212 silverH3701, to overlay the wallsH7023 of the housesH1004; 5goldH2091 for [things of] goldH2091, and silverH3701 for [things of] silverH3701, and for all manner of workH4399 by the handsH3027 of artificers. And who is willing to offerH5068 to Jehovah this dayH3117? 6And the chiefH8269 fathersH1 and princesH8269 of the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, and the captains of thousandsH505 and of hundredsH3967, and the comptrollers of the king's businessH4399, offeredH5068 willingly. 7And they gaveH5414 for the serviceH5656 of the houseH1004 of 5GodH430 fiveH2568 thousandH505 talentsH3603 and tenH6235 thousandH505 daricsH150 of goldH2091, and tenH6235 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of silverH3701, and eighteen thousandH505 talentsH3603 of brass, and oneH3967 hundredH3967 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of ironH1270. 8And they with whom stonesH68 were foundH4672 gaveH5414 [them] to the treasureH214 of the houseH1004 of Jehovah, into the handH3027 of JehielH3171 the GershoniteH1649. 9And the peopleH5971 rejoicedH8055 because they offeredH5068 willingly, for with perfectH8003 heartH3820 they offeredH5068 willingly to Jehovah; and DavidH1732 the kingH4428 alsoH1571 rejoicedH8055 with greatH1419 joyH8057. 10And DavidH1732 blessedH1288 Jehovah in the sight of all the congregation; and DavidH1732 saidH559, BlessedH1288 be thou, Jehovah, the 6GodH430 of our fatherH1 IsraelH3478, for everH5769 and everH5769. 11Thine, Jehovah, is the greatnessH1420, and the power, and the gloryH8597, and the splendour, and the majestyH1935; for all that is in the heavensH8064 and on the earthH776 is thine: thine, Jehovah, is the kingdomH4467, and thou art exalted as HeadH7218 above all; 12and richesH6239 and gloryH3519 are of thee, and thou rulest over everythingH3605; and in thy handH3027 is power and might; and in thy handH3027 it is to makeH1431 all greatH1431 and strongH2388. 13And nowH6258, our 7GodH430, we thankH3034 thee, and praiseH1984 thy glorious nameH8034. 14But who am I, and what is my peopleH5971, that we should be able to offer willingly after this manner? for all is of thee, and of that which is from thy handH3027 have we givenH5414 thee. 15For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathersH1: our daysH3117 on the earthH776 are as a shadowH6738, and there is no hope [of life]. 16Jehovah our 8GodH430, all this store that we have preparedH3559 to buildH1129 thee a houseH1004 to thy holyH6944 nameH8034, is of thy handH3027, and is all thine own. 17And I knowH3045, my 9GodH430, that thou triest the heartH3824, and hast pleasureH8057 in uprightnessH3476. In the uprightnessH3476 of my heartH3824 have I willingly offeredH5068 all these thingsH428; and nowH6258 have I seenH7200 with joyH8057 thy peopleH5971, which are present hereH6311, offerH5068 willingly to thee. 18Jehovah, 10GodH430 of AbrahamH85, of IsaacH3327, and of IsraelH3478, our fathersH1, keepH8104 this for everH5769 in the imagination of the thoughtsH4284 of the heartH3824 of thy peopleH5971, and directH3559 their heartsH3824 to thee! 19And giveH5414 to SolomonH8010 my sonH1121 a perfectH8003 heartH3824, to keepH8104 thy commandmentsH4687, thy testimoniesH5715, and thy statutesH2708, and to do all, and to buildH1129 the palace, for which I have madeH6213 provision. 20And DavidH1732 saidH559 to all the congregation, BlessH1288 now Jehovah your 11GodH430. And all the congregation blessedH1288 Jehovah the 12GodH430 of their fathersH1, and bowedH7812 downH7812 their heads, and did homage to Jehovah and the kingH4428. 21And they sacrificedH2076 sacrificesH2077 to Jehovah, and offeredH5927 up burnt-offerings to Jehovah, on the morrow after that dayH3117: a thousandH505 bullocks, a thousandH505 ramsH352, a thousandH505 lambsH3532, with their drink-offerings, and sacrificesH2077 in abundanceH7230 for all IsraelH3478. 22And they ateH398 and drankH8354 before Jehovah on that dayH3117 with greatH1419 joyH8057. And they made SolomonH8010 the sonH1121 of DavidH1732 kingH4427 the secondH8145 time, and anointedH4886 him to Jehovah to be princeH5057, and ZadokH6659 to be priestH3548. 23And SolomonH8010 satH3427 on the throneH3678 of Jehovah as kingH4428 instead of DavidH1732 his fatherH1, and prospered; and all IsraelH3478 obeyed him. 24And all the princesH8269, and the mightyH1368 menH1368, and all the sonsH1121 likewise of kingH4428 DavidH1732, submitted themselves to SolomonH8010 the kingH4428. 25And Jehovah magnifiedH1431 SolomonH8010 exceedingly in the sight of all IsraelH3478, and bestowed upon him royal majestyH1935 such as had not beenH1961 on any kingH4428 before him in IsraelH3478. 26Now DavidH1732 the sonH1121 of JesseH3448 reignedH4427 over all IsraelH3478. 27And the time that he reignedH4427 over IsraelH3478 was fortyH705 yearsH8141: he reignedH4427 sevenH7651 yearsH8141 in HebronH2275, and he reignedH4427 thirty-three yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. 28And he diedH4191 in a goodH2896 old age, full of daysH3117, richesH6239, and honour; and SolomonH8010 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead. 29And the acts of DavidH1732 the kingH4428, firstH7223 and lastH314, behold, they are writtenH3789 in the book of SamuelH8050 the seerH2374, and in the book of NathanH5416 the prophetH5030, and in the book of GadH1410 the seerH2374; 30with all his reignH4438 and his might, and the timesH6256 that passedH5674 over him, and over IsraelH3478, and over all the kingdomsH4467 of the countries.
