Isaiah 7:8-16
8For the headH7218 of Syria is DamascusH1834, and the headH7218 of DamascusH1834 is RezinH7526; and within threescore and fiveH2568 yearsH8141 shall EphraimH669 be broken in pieces, so that it shall not be a peopleH5971: 9and the headH7218 of EphraimH669 is SamariaH8111, and the headH7218 of SamariaH8111 is Remaliah’s sonH1121. If ye will not believeH539, surely ye shall not be establishedH539.
10And Jehovah spake again unto AhazH271, sayingH559, 11AskH7592 thee a signH226 of Jehovah thy GodH430; askH7592 it either in the depth, or in the height above. 12But AhazH271 saidH559, I will not askH7592, neither will I tempt Jehovah. 13And he saidH559, HearH8085 ye now, O houseH1004 of DavidH1732: Is it a smallH4592 thing for you to wearyH3811 menH376, that ye will wearyH3811 my GodH430 alsoH1571? 14ThereforeH3651 the LordH136 himself will giveH5414 you a signH226: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bearH3205 a sonH1121, and shall callH7121 his nameH8034 Immanuel. 15Butter and honeyH1706 shall he eatH398, when he knoweth to refuse the evilH7451, and chooseH977 the goodH2896. 16For before the child shall knowH3045 to refuse the evilH7451, and chooseH977 the goodH2896, the landH127 whose twoH8147 kingsH4428 thou abhorrest shall be forsaken.
