Isaiah 32
American Standard Version
1Behold, a kingH4428 shall reignH4427 in righteousnessH6664, and princesH8269 shall ruleH8323 in justiceH4941. 2And a manH376 shall beH1961 as a hiding-place from the windH7307, and a covert from the tempest, as streamsH6388 of waterH4325 in a dryH6724 place, as the shadeH6738 of a great rockH5553 in a wearyH5889 landH776. 3And the eyesH5869 of them that seeH7200 shall not be dim, and the earsH241 of them that hearH8085 shall hearken. 4And the heartH3824 of the rash shall understandH995 knowledge, and the tongueH3956 of the stammerers shall be ready to speakH1696 plainly. 5The foolH5036 shall be no more calledH7121 nobleH5081, nor the churl saidH559 to be bountiful. 6For the foolH5036 will speakH1696 follyH5039, and his heartH3820 will work iniquity, to practise profaneness, and to utter error against Jehovah, to makeH6213 empty the soulH5315 of the hungryH7457, and to cause the drink of the thirstyH6771 to fail. 7And the instrumentsH3627 of the churl are evilH7451: he deviseth wickedH7451 devices to destroy the meek with lyingH8267 wordsH561, even when the needyH34 speaketh rightH4941. 8But the nobleH5081 deviseth nobleH5081 things; and in nobleH5081 things shall he continue.
9RiseH6965 up, ye womenH802 that are at easeH7600, andhearH8085 my voiceH6963; ye careless daughtersH1323, giveH238 earH238 unto my speech. 10For daysH3117 beyond a yearH8141 shall ye be troubled, ye careless women; for the vintage shall failH3615, the ingathering shall not comeH935. 11TrembleH7264, ye women that are at easeH7600; be troubled, ye careless ones; stripH6584 you, and make you bare, and girdH2296 sackcloth upon your loinsH2504. 12They shall smite upon the breastsH7699 for the pleasant fieldsH7704, for the fruitfulH6509 vineH1612. 13Upon the landH127 of my peopleH5971 shall comeH5927 up thornsH6975 and briers; yea, upon all the housesH1004 of joyH4885 in the joyous city. 14For the palace shall beH1961 forsaken; the populous cityH5892 shall beH1961 deserted; the hillH6076 and the watch-tower shall beH1961 for dens for everH5769, a joyH4885 of wildH6501 asses, a pastureH4829 of flocksH5739; 15until the SpiritH7307 beH1961 pouredH6168 upon us from on highH4791, and the wildernessH4057 becomeH1961 a fruitful field, and the fruitful field beH1961 esteemedH2803 as a forestH3293.
16Then justiceH4941 shall dwellH3427 in the wildernessH4057; and righteousnessH6666 shall abide in the fruitful field. 17And the workH4639 of righteousnessH6666 shall beH1961 peaceH7965; and the effect of righteousnessH6666, quietnessH8252 and confidence for everH5769. 18And my peopleH5971 shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in safe dwellingsH4908, and in quiet resting-places. 19But it shall hail in the downfall of the forestH3293; and the cityH5892 shall be utterly laid lowH8213. 20Blessed are ye that sowH2232 beside all watersH4325, that sendH7971 forthH7971 the feetH7272 of the oxH7794 and the ass.
